I have NEVER sold or used even the tiniest amount of Bitcoin though I have accumulated more and more over the years. Almost seems like its all in a black  whole somewhere! I just don't feel like selling any it because I feel like come next halving, it will be worth 2 times more! At this point, it almost seems like all of it will just go to my next generation.

Anyone else a 100% HODLER out here?

Buddy that's your decision and I will advised you stick to it because it's personal, though it depends on the number of years you beed holding but no matter what irrespective of the number of years you have been holding, it all depends on what you want , since you don't find it necessary to sell and there no pressing need that would warrant you to take such decision, I don't see any need for you to sell for now.
Individual decision matters but hodling should be atleast for 8years before one can consider selling and even after the said number of years if there aren't and alternative investment you want to go into, i think there won't be any reason to sell, personally I don't see 4 years as an option and it doesn't look like long-term to me, being a hodler does not mean that you shouldn't have other source of income and another thing is that you can't hodl forever but this shouldn't be an advise coming from anyone to you, for  the individual hodler to avoid any form blame, hodling and selling should be personal decision but general opinion can come in but it all depends on what we want.

i think very few here are 100% HODLERS, including me. i try my best not to sell unless i really need the cash, but i do sell a % once i feel we hit the market ATH and would buy back when the market crash. i hope it won't go bad this time Grin
beside that, i don't plan on cashing out anytime soon, at least not before 2030-2040.

I don't have %100 of my investments in BTC alone because I already went out from BTC at around $87k I was not expecting it to touch $98k in this novermeber but as I mentioned it outperformed all of ours expectations in this month and still 31 days left to end the year and in these days anything can happen.

Considering the pumps and hypes of BTC I think it is not wrong to say that BTC have enough potential that it can easily touch $120k target as well. Speaking of holding and these pumps and the bullish sentiment in the market, no one really wants to sell but wants to buy more. Which means market will be more bullish and a time will come when the greed index will be lower then 50 and overall market will be red then most of the invesors will panic and sell more and they will lose the opportunity to make more profit in upcoming rally.

No one expect that bitcoin could break into this price level. This is far on the expectation of people since people expect that after those last ATH reached by bitcoin the dump will follow. But it looks like bitcoin prove a lot of people that they are wrong with their assumption and now we are speculating on when this $100k figure will get hit. Also in my case I  sold maybe 20% - 30% of my holdings since need to cash out something to buy important stuff.

But now still continue to hodl and slowly getting back on accumulating since I believe there would be more pump will come in future. We are just seeing a little snapshot that might happen soon and I expect that there would be a lot more pumps especially that more good events to come that provably helps bitcoin to gain more demand and increase its price.

Long term hodler right here but at some point I'll have to sell some to use it in acquiring some other properties for my generation and myself. I believe in Bitcoin but I also believe that I should diversify into owning properties. My environment is fast developing and I need to own some property before it goes so high that I wouldn't be capable of owning as much property as I would had wished. My targets for taking some profits are at $300k which I believe we can get to by the next bull market after the halving of 2028 has been completed. I'm not thinking of taking any profits in this bull market as I think it might distract me from my goals or owning more Bitcoin. If I sell, I would use the money up for my land purchases and mightn't have any money left to buy the Bitcoin hence to continue hodling seems like the more sensible thing to do hence I'll be hodling and I know it won't be a regrettable decision.

Long term investors are still accumulating more Bitcoin and still holding because their investment plan is Long time purpose probably 4-10 and above, also those that has been accumulating Bitcoin for long may decide to sell some part of their Bitcoin hodling. Those who decided hodl now will definitely not regret selling because the the price of Bitcoin we are seeing now $98k will definitely be a dip in time to come so the best thing to do now is to keep on accumulating Bitcoin and continue hodling.

Yes, I'm hodling. I'm hodling forever and I'm 100% in BTC. But I can weather any bear markets, since even if I was forced to sell at the bottom of the 2022 bear market (which the price will probably never crash to again) I would still be fine.

Naaaahhh, I don’t fit in that category of a 10% hodler of Bitcoin, not by a chance. It’s something I would have liked to do but over time, I find myself in situations where I would just have to liquidate not all but, certain percentage of my hodlings, depending on what the need in that moment demands of me. It’s got to be entirely necessary though and I’ve got to have no other option before I go ahead to liquidate a portion of my asset. Be it as it may, I’ll be sure to buy right back if I can when I can and I don’t take any sales that would lead to a significant decrease of my hodlings.

Maybe its true. OP is an old user, 2013 users bought BTC at a very cheap price and maybe he sees the price to go up to  life changing amount so why spend it when its your retirement plan that you are going to spend.

If I just knew my coins are going to make me a millionaire and I can prove to my doubters I and up to win more in life, I would have kept them all as well. But then anyway, I'm still not too late.

Congrats to OP.

It will be really difficult for anyone having Bitcoin assets not to spend it and keep holding on to them till passing it to their next generation because the essence of one investing in Bitcoin assets is for the sole purpose of making money and having profit so when you accumulate enough to the point of your satisfaction it's advisable for one to sell and use it to solve some immediate problems or even reinvest it into some others business

Bitcoin actually has the potential of doubling every four years based on history. I would have loved to keep hodling but circumstances would not allow me to achieve it. I have some pressing needs that will warrant me to dispose of a portion of my coins. Having gotten a good understanding of the market, I have plans to keep DCAing in preparation for the next four to eight years. Regrettably, my answer is no, I am not Hodling hundred percent.

Only strong hands are able to hold their assets and the first note is that they have enough funds to meet all their daily needs. if it were normal today they would also temporarily release their ownership to enjoy a little profit from holding in the past 4 months. and those who entered the market after the election are very profitable at this time.

Actually many people are HODLers here but I will say that HODLing bitcoin is not HODLing for "dear life* meaning we must not HODl forever. You sound as If your HODLing will not be sold or Parhaps an asset for the next generation, but not for your own use in the future. If that is what you mean then I will say I am not HODLing for the next generation but holding to see what the out come will be by the time I will have reach my withdrawal stage.

If we already have a comfortable life with other sources of income and are satisfied with our current standard of living. Accumulating and holding bitcoins for the next generation is a good thing because it is also a form of inheritance. But if we are still struggling with our current life, our children are still living in poverty, then holding bitcoin forever without selling is really a bad idea.
Let's not forget that the goal of investing in bitcoin is to improve lives, not to turn it into a cult to worship or admire. If it were me, investing in bitcoin would be useless if I had to live a difficult life all my life and my children wouldn't have a good life. So at some point when I reach my goal, I will not hesitate to sell all my bitcoins to take care of my family. Family and present life are more important than anything else in the world.

I won't say that Satoshi's goal was simple holding, but everyone has their own goals. As for me personally, I can't say that I have no desire to acquire anything, or that I have enough money to do only holding. Although, I would never call my life poor. I guess I'm more of one of those who understand that while we are young, we can afford to spend money now, because in old age, as I see it, many may have opportunities, but they don't want anything except their basic needs. Therefore, I spend when I think I need it, and I don't grit my teeth, realizing that in thirty years I can get more.

I also felt this one during the 2021 bull run, and I end myself disappointed.
I mean I already had the opportunity to sell all of my assets at that time, but I decided not to and that's the worst decision in my life.

Holding assets is good especially if the asset that you're holding is good for the long run, but let's think of another way to at least take some profits while at the same time, buying those assets again when the bear market happens. We know that the market moves in cycles so if there's an opportunity for us to sell then at all costs, SELL IT. At the end of the day, we will enter the bear market, and we can just buy those assets again at a much lower price. You bought them at a lower price, and at the same time, you took some profit as well.

I don't want to say that don't do what I did in the 2021 bull run, but it's still your decision if you will sell it or not. I'm not a 100% HODLER because I don't see the sense of it. I can just buy those assets again when they go down again.

I quite regret selling a slightly larger amount of bitcoin earlier in the year when if I had held it now it would have increased in value much higher.
If you can hold on to wait for the next ATH to come then I am sure the assets you have will increase in value and that's why bitcoin is much better to hold.
I am not a 100% holder because I occasionally sell the bitcoins I own but the amount of bitcoin I own I generally keep, only a small percentage of which I trade or sell.

Generally we make the appropriate amount to hold or sell, depending on each individual in implementing the investment using what pattern.
But holding is always the strategy used by most people when they want to invest.

Not me. If you've always bought Bitcoin and never sold it, that's awesome. There are very few people who do that. Unfortunately, life circumstances sometimes cause us to sell our Bitcoin investments. In a time when the economy is bad and living is getting harder and harder every day, it's not possible to save money after daily expenses and invest them into Bitcoin and never touch it.
The one who never sell always win until they cash out. In 4 year cycles, someone who sell around the top and buy around the bottom has much more coins though.

I’m skeptical if there’s user out here that doesn’t spend even a single satoshi on their holdings despite the current price which is the ATH.

However if you are interested to discuss with Bitcoin OG that possibly steel balls holder like you then go to this thread https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/wall-observer-btcusd-bitcoin-price-movement-tracking-discussion-178336

For sure there it is since we cannot deny that we really need to move some of our bitcoin to spend it on some other things we need or to use it on other options that can potentially give us money. I guess some people just over reacting on what they believe that once you are a bitcoin holder you shouldn't spend your bitcoins since for me this is really no sense to be done especially when you really need money and you don't have other means to get immediate funds.

But for sure those people who spend didn't want to take out everything and what they do is just to take small portion of their holdings so that they could able to continue their long term investment. Wall of Observer is good thread to observe the movement of people and we can learn a lot from their perspective since there are lots of good opinions shared in that thread.

The thing about bitcoin is determination, I believe that you believe in holding your bitcoin for long-term it's better for you, because the amount you purchase bitcoin now cannot be the amount you will purchase same value of bitcoin in next six months..

I started buying in 2015, I have sold some & I continue to at the right times. Only ever sell for reasons that improve your life though, no vanity purposes like a new car or similar. And by the next halving the price should be more than double what it currently is.

You sold because you have a challenge at hand or their's something you wants to get for yourself, but a process whereby you have another source you can extract your funds and solve your needs, I don't think you would sold your bitcoin, holding is good, but have a target, people that hold bitcoin from 2015, large amount of bitcoin, by now those people is a billionaire in Bitcoin, that's why I do encourage people to continue holding bitcoin until your target of holding come to pass.
