Im from the Philippines and I believe that the best president is Pres. Rodrigo Duterte. He has political will to change our country to become better. He has faced a lot of challenges since our country has a lot of problems like drugs and corruption. He wants to stop corruption and want to eliminate selling of drugs and our country.

President Muhammadu Buhari is the best for now... He's tackling the countries problem headlong ranging from corruption to insurgency, moral decadence, infrastructure deficit and redeeming images of Nigerian abroad. What I admire most today is Justin Trudeau. Half of his ministries are headed by women, fulfilling his promise in offering a greater female representation , in addition to respecting the diversity. Also I see a lot of humanity and empathy in his positions and I think the world needs examples like this. We Need More Justins!!!

This guy is welcoming Canadian citizens who are members of the ISIS. And this includes many individuals who took part in massacres and child rape in Syria and Iraq.

Well, I guess you should ask yourself how this poverty would be if you still had someone like Eltsin instead. Statistics about average age don't lie. Had you still a Eltsin-like president there you would probably be even poorer and for sure die at least 10 years earlier on average (at least, because if things don't get better, they usually tend to get worse)
Moscow and Peter are Ok. But in the other cities there is great poverty. So its funny to read that he is the best president
Moscow and Peter accounts for close to 20% of the population. And the other regions are not that bad. Most of the people can be described as middle-class with less than 10% classified as poor. The situation is not all rosy, but it is much better than the case in neighboring nations such as Ukraine and Moldova.

For pure effectiveness it has to be Putin. No one else has any balls or strategic vision. I suppose it helps rigging elections and framing and slaughtering rivals so you know you'll be in power for another few decades. You have the time to slow down and really plan for the future.

I'm not sure I know enough about world leaders to give a perspective on this. I thought this answer was unfortunately hilarious though. Made me think of House of Cards although we are sure Putin does much more to attain power than 99% of other world leaders if that is what we're calling them.

My vote goes for Simonetta Sommaruga. I think the best elected leader in the world is Simonetta Sommaruga, a social democrat in Switzerland. Whether Sommaruga is alone responsible for the happiness of her people, her people are some of the happiest and most prosperous in the world.
This is the first time I am hearing about Simonetta. And I bet hardly anyone outside Switzerland has heard about her. I googled a bit about Simonetta, and I was impressed with her. She was the one who introduced $5,000 fine to anyone who refused to shake hands with their teachers. Details are here:

This guy, is who all politicians should strive to be like. A true man of the people! This is the best description of this man, 90% of his salary is going to charity, he lived in his house on village where he lived before he become a president, his presidential residence he used just like his office. My favorite is his legalization of marijuana, not only he legalized this plant he said it that marijuana is like any other herb, people there can use it as they like.

Totally agree Jose "Pepe" Mujica was hands down the greatest president of our time.
