The recent price just has me kicking myself for not buying in. Add in the fact you can now trade bitcoins on your iPhone and it's just hurts.

Also, who think it's weird that bitcoins top out at $600-650 or thereabouts. I think a lot of people got burned buying at $600-1000 during that big boom, and are cashing out as soon as they break even.

Thoughts?

For those early adopters who bought their bitcoins in 2010, it probably doesn't matter to them now whether they bought in at $0.54 or $0.74. If Bitcoin truly takes off like many of those here believe then the fact that I bought my first bitcoin or two at $540 or $740 will be irrelevant when the price for a single bitcoin reaches $50,000-$1 million.

It takes dedication to save a lot when you are not making a lot

Here's your chance to buy in people! Wink
I still haven't bought any at this price.

When the price is low and going down it should be easy to buy because the price is low but buyers are concentrated on the fact that they could buy cheaper

Not everyone has savings to buy

The same people that complained they wish they had bought at $540 will be too chickenshit to do it now, and will complain all over again when the price goes back up.

You have a chance to buy back around 540$

And maybe at a lower price soon

When bitcoin reaches $5,000+ is it really going to matter if you bought in at $540 or $640?
Yes, because that $100 difference will be magnified into a $1,000 difference.

Depending on whether you wanted to buy x bitcoins or spend x money.

A lot of us bought @ 540$

Those who crie and wait for a new dive afraid of a new increase in price are those who sold @ 5xx$ in hope of buying back at a lower price

i remember when btc was going for $5ish in 2011.. i didn't get into btc until early 2013 though. i thought it was a nice idea at first, but i guess i was too lazy to jump in.

i wanted to make a bet on obama vs. romney in 2012 but didn't think of bitcoin to do it with.. man, a $500 bet would have netted me something like $50k+ today.

That would have been wicked.
And if you lost, you'd only lose $500. Nice.

I actually wish I bought Bitcoin when it was at $1, or less. Wink

Meanwhile, those of us that bought at under $1 are wishing we hadn't sold at $5, $10, $35, $65...

Even worse, those of us mining during the hot 2011 summer to earn those $1 coins who sold for a measly $5.... ***raises hand ashamedly***

I was introduced to Bitcoin when it was trading at $11 back in 2011.  I wasn't ready to accept it at the time, and if I did buy I probably would've sold at all the next peak when it hit $18 or $30.

Only when I became educated on fractional reserve banking, FIAT, and how the central banking system has influenced past history, then I was able to accept that his a long term investment vehicle.

I also realized that trying to find the bottom is silly in the grand scheme of things.

it's only silly if you aren't good at it. i'd love to be able to reliably time the bottom (even remotely) -- what better way to increase your coin stash? other than making 100x or something on some scamcoin....

Trading, by its very nature, is difficult.   Why?

Because you're trying to take money away from very smart people.

I did buy a tiny bit at 540.
I regreted it because it went down afterwards.
But I'm happy I didn't sell, because I would have missed the bottom most certainly.
Hodling!

So, out of curiosity, when will you sell? You're sitting on some nice gains right now. You holding out for $1000? $10k? $1 million? Just curious what some of the hodlers are eyeing for a sell price. Tongue

$10k to $100k hope for the latter.

I'm holding for years. 5 years min but maybe 10 or 20. If there's a huge increase then spend some.   but i dont see the point of selling for fiat. Maybe sell a small percentage after 5 years.

Minimum $60,000 - yes, I know it may never happen Smiley

I'm always going to be selling here and buying there. Never 100% out of course. But I can't resist locking in some gains. Personally, I think we will see 5 figures, but everything is still so speculative at this point.
