Their statement says Alexander Vinnik has nothing to do with their service. I'm fairly sure that part of the statement is a lie.
Why would you believe anything they say right now? Personally, I'll only believe they're coming back/repaying users once everyone has been repaid.

Well, everybody is innocent until proven guilty.Unless they give back the coins of customers,nobody will trust them and if they give the coins back to the customers everyone will surely withdraw.Which it will be a problem if nobody uses their platform.They don't have any chance imo.
Well, as long as customers could receive their bitcoin and money back, it's like a pain relief.
I do not agree if FBI or another central authority seized bitcoin as it doesn't belong to BTC-E where people deposit to this site.
The lesson is : do not put big amount of money/bitcoin on exchanges as it can be on risk to lose it if anything goes wrong just like happened with BTC-E or Bitfinex last year.

I thought the coins were moved and or seized. Did we ever figure out who got their hands on the coins? I am glad that they are refunding users and that they were able to fix the situation, it sure would have been nice if Cryptsy was linked to this as well and they recovered those funds as well, I would sure be happy to have those 23 BTC back!

Let's see if they'll stay true to their word! I wouldn't be surprised if people actually get their coins back. None of the other exchanges have been both so shady and legit at the same time as btc-e.
While I can imagine that Alexander wasn't the owner, I still assume that he was at least employed by btc-e. Either way, let's see if they make a comeback. Would be pretty epic to see the honey badger of exchanges get back to live.

they've never been very good at english. you always got support problems answered much faster in russian.
kind of ironic that the 'criminals' will pay you back but the american government won't if they get their hands on your money.
