Being in an altcoin with so many problems as you said doesn't mean they are important. But some people prefer to chase every momentum that happens in the hype of some shitcoin.
In addition, the returns from them can also indeed be very large if you can take advantage of the momentum so that with this many want to be in altcoins with such hopes.

I think in the beginning we need to have alternative right? hence the term altcoin, other coins besides the one and only BTC. But as time goes by, speculators became a thing here in the altcoin market. Devs created a lot of hype and meme coins and shit coins to obviously with one goal in mind, - to attract a lot of people in the market itself.

And I say some of them are very successful about that, like in recent months, $Pepe coin in rising, and then we have the whole BRC-20 token. So yeah, just be careful out there, there are a lot of good coins but majority are very bad investments in the long run.

the very reason altcoins are really a thing because it has more prospect to hit all time high and hit its peak pricing unlike bitcoin that has been increasing so much since its initial release.
basically its just seeking the same potential to when bitcoin was first introduced.

Yep, people are trying to recapture that magic and obtain the same results the early adopters got when they got their bitcoin, and while such a thing is possible if they happen to invest in the right altcoin we also know this is very unlikely, as the number of altcoins we have on the market is huge and the capital each investor has is limited, so the opportunities they have to try to get those results are incredibly restricted and unfortunately for them they will never get those benefits.

Yes, you can see a lot of scam projects/scam altcoins but just to note that some still play an important role in the market like ETH.
Well, your opinion about buying the dip was great but thinking about selling them faster, was impossible as we can't assume that after we bought them the price will pump. That is why there is where we called hold/holding because it was needed somehow as the price won't climb out after buying and we wait for a few days or even years.

These alts are worth it to HODL for a long time obviously because it can give us a great income in the future and buying and holding is also a way of showing a support to the creator of those altcoins.

There are many arguments sometimes in favor and help to bitcoin, also sometimes competition with bitcoin to express themselves, but rather every altcoin depends on the trend of bitcoin. I see the reason people believe in it because of the fact that it offers a clear opportunity to be profitable in the short term, and it repeats so often and almost as a habit of forgetting that people build for themselves. But the trend created in each bull cycle, many of the things that I see are meaningless but also part of the trick to attract people to the crypto market. Over time we will understand for ourselves what really is safe for different times and what will be short-lived.

Well, the best answer I can give is that the world is too big for one coin! I think there are good alts around, we can deny Ethereum, Monero, Litecoin, and some other coins success in the last +5 years.

I can't imagine the crypto world without so many different projects around and their native chains and possibilities. And the speed at which this world is growing is incredible...

The manor reason for those investing in altcoin is for the gain because those scam tram always promise them $1000 on the $20 investment within a short time, and since some of them once pumped and dumped at some point it then turn out that those investors are trying to take a short at them whether they be lucky not to be caught in the web.

While some are lucky to cash out on the team when the pump happens but also some are unlucky to pull out before the dumped also.

So for me, altcoin is not a good investment choice most especially for a long term base.
