As per the formula...everyone with more than 500 activity has a 4 second limit, no matter how much higher is its own rank. By the while having read the sticky may have given you the answer before posting.

Code:
waittime = 360;
if(activity >= 15)
        waittime = (int)(90 - activity);
if(activity >= 60)
        waittime=(int)(34.7586 - (0.0793103 * activity));
if(activity >= 100)
        waittime = max((int)(14-(activity/50)), 4);

I already read it but I am not a tech geek so not easy for me to understand, instead why would I ask?
Thanks for your help though, but I already saw this in the link in previously mentioned post prior to yours. Smiley

Thanks a lot guys.

As you all were saying, with 500 activity, there is a 4 second limit before next post, but what about more higher level members like Legendary, Staff, etc. with very much high activity? Do they face the same problems?

Hey guys, when I tried to make another posts after a minute of my previous post, it says "The last posting from your IP was less than 360 seconds ago. Please try again later. The thing you were trying to post was saved as a draft. This limit decreases substantially as your account becomes more established."

Why is it so? Are newbies not allowed to make posts frequently?

I forgot to mention that even in higher ranks, posting limits are still present. I once tried to write down all my replies in different topics before posting them. Once I managed to edit all the points that I want to stress on, I wouldn't submit it yet, not until all of the other replies I am writing is finished. Well I did that for an experiment, seeing if I can submit post simultaneously within 10 seconds. And yes, a warning appeared, and it says: "The las posting from your IP was less than 8 seconds ago. Please try again later..." similar to what you have witnessed. There are posting limits for every rank, I guess. Not sure if the same thing exists on higher ranks because I'm not in the same rank as them.

Lowest limit is 4 seconds after 500 activity. Its barely noticable. I only notice it when I prewrite something e.g. due to a bad network connection. This also applies to reports btw.

So you mean the limits are still activity-based and not rank-based? I'm still uncertain as to how these limits are implemented on different ranks/activites. The warning I got when I tried to post 4 replies simultaneously is 8 seconds. Are there any threads that states this limits?

EDIT: Found what I was looking for. Posting it here just for other users' reference: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.4131557

Your account is new, you have time / posts limit to avoid spammy posts.
Be patient, when you will be older on forum, you can post as fast as you want/can Smiley

The answer is simple, to avoid spam from new accounts or post, but even with theses limites theres still spam in the forum, but relax after you increase your rank the limits will decrease

It's combination of you activity and rank, once you get higher you limits will be lower.
Every member has some limits and they are all stickied in meta so go and look there to get more educated about this please.

Its just activity, see the formula you linked. Its boild down to 3 basic steps:

the first major reduction to 75-30 seconds once your activity is over 14, but still not 60 or higher
the second reduction to 30-27 seconds once your activity is 60 or higher, but still not 100 or higher
the third reduction to 12-4 seconds once your activity is 100 or higher.

Once you reached 500 actitivty you will be stuck at a 4 second limit, which I notice once in a blue moon.
Oh yep thank you for correcting me.

Seeing that your rank is still a newbie, there is a time limit on posting so as to prevent spam and other insubstantial posts that clutter up the discussion. To be able to decrease the limit, you must attain a higher rank, which is easy if you remain active in here. But also be reminded that there are no ways to "boost" one's rank; you have to post at least 14 posts for two weeks to get 14 activity points. If your posts are beyond the required number to get the max activity per two weeks, one post will do.

yes, time limits are dreadful(
it would be much better without them

Admins put limit on newbies with less than 14 activity to avoid spam from people just created an account to throll here. In the next 2 week period you will have a maximum of 28 activity and by that you can post in every 75 seconds i think

No I dont escrow anymore.
i thought this only affect users who registered with tor, i don't remember at all that rule when i registered back in 2013, must be added not long time ago for all users

No there are no specific limits for those registering with Tor. Its just very likely that the IP of a Tor exit node has "evil points" and you would have to pay a (little) fee in order to get your account working in the first place. That is true for every IP or network that is heavily used by spammers though.

When I started Newbie could only post in beginners and help for some time. I think the 360 seconds are perfectly fine as a limit, esp. since the time drops drastically after ~two weeks.

it's there to limit the spam posts !
and the more you stay in the forum , the time decreases

Good Luck Wink

The more I stay? Do you mean by the total time I remain logged in here or do I need to wait for my member level to upgrade?
And if that's the case, then till what level will these restrictions be levied?

It's based on activity and rank. Once you get 14 activity it goes down to 75 seconds I think. Then goes down even more at some point. It is very annoying at first but it soon passes.
