Bitcoin is now a mother of all the cryptocurrency it is the best and no. currency right now. Why it become powerful because of its uses. It can do more than the other type of coin here. Even in the near future that no one can defeat it because it become more popular and it will developed more soon. Except if you compare bitcoin to fiat then it has very little useability, in fact sometimes I wonder why people still call it a currency when it acts more like an asset. The majority of people don't buy bitcoin to make transactions with it, they buy it because they expect the price to keep goin up forever.

if you mean bitcoin is powerful among other cryptocurrencies like the ones that you have named in you comment then i agree because none of the other cryptos (altcoin) are even close to bitcoin in usability.
but if you are comparing bitcoin as a currency with other currencies in general like USD, EUR,... then bitcoin has very little power since the percentage of usage of bitcoin is very small comparing to others.

I do agree that bitcoin has power because it was bought by investors because it's utilitarian. But, I disagree that bitcoin can do more than other coins out there. Etherium offers ETH contracts to other ICOs out there. Bitcoin is just bitcoin. All the other coins have copied the concept of bitcoins and most of them have a target market, have something innovative on them, and that's their edge against bitcoin. They have to make something better than bitcoin so people would invest on their coins. Unfortunately for them, bitcoin has the best foundation and userbase so it will always be the first one until a much better technology comes.
