Somehow when social media boost up every person has got their position and rights on their own. Now it doesnt matter what you say or what you do everyone will say something about anything. We are living in this generation where in if you say your fart smells bad they will get offended and when you say its smells good you will bombarded.
This, we live in an age where most people use facebook and they are so used to hear nothing but cheers on their actions and their beliefs that when someone express a different view they cannot tolerate it, also with social media everyone feels like they are a rock star and that their opinion are gold when in fact no one cares.

We can't really know for sure what offends other people because they're different from one another. Though i kind of agree that some are being over righteous especially in this age of social media. Information i think is way too easily spread that it also would be easier to deliberately offend people with insensitive comments.

from what I've seen with people, they mostly get offended when something hits their core beliefs about themselves. that could be because of something general like religion or race, or something more specific and personal, for e.g., a person who relishes in his leadership skills, believes it to be the one of his strong suits, would easily get offended if someone bettered him at that. It all stems from the insecurity inside, the feeling that what the other person may be saying could actually be true. This leads to the person to get offended, which kind of works like a denial-defence mechanism, to protect the persons inner identity and integrity.
Atleast this is what I've observed in people around me.

Our world has been developed by technologies and even the personal traits of people will changed. People feel so offended by everything nowadays because of what they've been acquired in social media. For example, they red a post in social media and they reacted quickly without thinking that they are not part of it. This characteristics has been the characteristics of individuals.

Some people are so sensitive and get offended easily but that only depends on the situation. They feel offended easily because they took things so seriously and they are uncomfortable on any circumstances.

We have differences as human, we must always be concious of what we say and what we do. Respect is always the highest form of good manner.

I think that the reason why is because of our culture today. We now feel entitled we mask everything through feminism, or for human rights but really we are overusing and misusing the power of these beliefs and activities. What we should do is to have a clear education on what is and what is not and be mindful that the opinion of others matter but do not neccessarily mean that they are against us

It's possibly mild Autism in some cases where people have difficulty understanding that other people have different views.

In the past people had beliefs and people understood that other people had different beliefs. Today many people don't acknowledge that a different belief even exists. This may be somewhat caused by people being more and more insecure and weak and to protect their fragile emotions they adopt a way of thinking where they don't acknowledge the existance of things which make them feel uncomfortable.

This is a dilusional personality disorder and it can be quite dangerous as you get people doing some really unsafe things because they don't allow themselves to consider the potential danger involved, because that is uncomfortable. The result of this is a nanny state where people are made to memorize lots of safety rules without being expected to think about why these rules were given to them.

As long as it doesn't crosses a certain limit, no one must be declared immune to criticism. Even heads of state and religious leaders are not immune to criticism. But the targeted party should also take it in a light way, rather than killing everyone who criticize them (just like what happened with the Charlie Hebdo cartoonists).

I think that's okay to ask for respect whenever you feel ofended by someone or something, but I feel that this is getting way too far with people's (over) sensibility. Don't know if you get the idea of what I'm saying but it's really annoying to deal with people like that
If I post I don't like to do/eat/play something, then someone will immediately feel I'm attacking them and start arguing and making a discussion out of nothing more than an opinion (I'm talking about giving opinions about something not insulting people for what they do or think)

Don't know if you agree with this, but I really want to know if you feel the same or it's just me. Let me know your opinions  Wink
