Those propagating negative rumors about bitcoiin was just a people without hope in life, a closed door mind manipulated themselves and say btc is dead. Without enough knowlege about digital currency, made these people judge bitcoin immediately by their own perceptions. Well some of them.was just investors who doesn't want fair plays and will make rumors just to confuse other persons minds and will panic sell their btc holding which could have greater impact of the price drop im the market.
People don't have any idea and knowledge about bitcoins and if they don't have any knowledge then we can expect the same mentality as they will always listen to what people around them feel about bitcoins.
There are several such factors that makes a negativity among the users. One is the misunderstanding about the nature and consequences of bitcoin as a success from an innovative technology. I explained to a friend when the price was around $350, that time he made fun of me and now looking the price he realises it's potential.
Its fun to say that something is dieing, such as TV shows or movies e.g DC is dead etc etc. Its just a fun thing to say.
People don't have any idea and knowledge about bitcoins and if they don't have any knowledge then we can expect the same mentality as they will always listen to what people around them feel about bitcoins.
Don't forget about the hater who has regret deep within their heart about not buying bitcoin at a lower price and now hopes its dead so they can feel better about missing such a tremendous opportunity. 
I think they are the main reason and this is their main reason why they keep on saying that bitcoin is dead. Its a crab mentality that they dont want others to have fun and get some profit. It is why they want to discourage other people so that they will habe the situatuon.

3. Other cryptocurrency owners, since they want to popularize their coin. Competitive essence.
