People does consider bitcoin as dead because bitcoin had achieved 1200 dollars and is worthing around 700 dollars, people were expecting to bitcoin cross 2000 dollars and above ammounts when the bubble happened. Besides those there is nothing to people say about bitcoin, because media consider bitcoin as dark currency.
Well i am guessing that those people who keep saying Bitcoin is dead are the people who can not comprehend to Bitcoin price. Maybe they are thinking that because of the High Bitcoin Price today then lots of people will not be able to afford to buy 1 whole Bitcoin.

Not only them, but most of the time, the ones that told too much about bitcoin's death are those who sold their bitcoin earlier, when they saw bitcoin suffering low price, and now that it is back at its feet, they are shouting it again to pull it down more. Aside from them, it is possible that those who wants to take advantage of the panic might also do that, so they could buy more at low price and sell it immediately and repeat the situation.

This thread caused very silly arguments from most users. Remeber that don't trust anything so blindly and especially bitcoin because did here anyone know that it's price would fall from 1000$ to 730$? No, so stop talking about further investmants.

Trust in bitcoin and buy into it. Then come back after few years and see for yourself. Just make sure that you have stored all your bitcoins somewhere safe.
That would be called blindly believing something, and i personally feel that is not the best thing to do, as we all know that bitcoin price is unpredictable because today it grows and tomorrow it drops, so we cannot really be sure if the price will be higher after a particular time when we come back.
Some argue that this is to get cheap bitcoins in reason of the panick it would create. I think it was probably true at the beggining, but not so much nowadays. They're just probably stupid.

I don't think someone would say that thing as a joke, i would rather go with the second thing you said, that they might hate bitcoin and don't want it to progress so that there own or loved coins progress which would probably remain just a dream as bitcoin wont be down just because of what they do.
Peoples who said if bitcoin dead, I sure didn't know about the world sophisticated development of financial. Believe me, someday bitcoin will replace many world currencies like USD, EUR, and more.
The people said bitcoin is dead sure did not know about its progress but you should also know one thing that bitcoin is not going to replace any major currencies of the world like USD or EURO, because bitcoin is not capable of that at all, all it has is a big price but it is not enough for that.
There is no competition simply because too few people are using Bitcoin right now, and it doesn't matter whether it is a whole new world on its own or not, since it is still money. And as money, Bitcoin will be competing with any other money out there. If things get serious and Bitcoin spreads out, so to speak, people will use Bitcoin instead of their local currencies. That would cause inflation in the price of goods denominated in that currency since more units of it will be chasing less goods (more goods will be bought with bitcoins directly)...
Being a global currency doesn't change a thing in this great scheme of things
