Why people think is a mistake to be a Nigeria is because of some certain attitude exhibited by Nigerians. This attitude has brought many negative effect on us, both locally and internationally this things they do made many people to regret why they are called Nigerians but I believe In Due time Nigeria will take it shapes in.

I see some people get angry all over social media when there candidates doesn't win, they course the country and want it to fail badly but you know economy doesn't work by mouth, it's by numbers and I wish this numbers can confidently vote out pdp, APC, LP and NNPP because to be honest, they are just bunch of crooks that are rotating Nigeria, there is no messiah among them and I wish somebody one day regardless of ethnicity and religious would do something good for this country.

This is the country we have, we don't have other one apart from this one. So hating the country because one person has done one or two bad should be a shame for them because change actually start from individual, if you display good quality other people from another place will see the difference and they will start to change their mind about Nigeria.

There can be some many reasons why people will think is a mistake to be a Nigerian, first looking at the country situation now year after year instead of things to get better it is getting worst cost of things are high cost of foodis high, transportation is high, infact everything in the country is very high as it stands now.

Secondly the high rate of insecurity in the country is much in everyday news one will hear how to boko haram are killing people kidnapping here and there.

Lastly I know that there is no country that is not corrupt but Nigeria own too much, ok just imagine what our judiciary did concerning the judgement of the last concluded election why won't people think is a mistake to be a Nigerian?.

For me I don't think Nigeria is a bad country, well the people leading it are the bad ones because when it comes to resources we have it when. Nigeria is a wonderful country but just that we aren't helping ourselves mostly the corruption side and the jobless side of it, all the leaders only thinks about their selves and that's bad.
Due to the level of corruption and bad government, lack of job opportunities and many others, a lot of people are beginning to complain about the country, well I don't blame them for their complaints because a lot of citizens don't even enjoy their fundamental human rights even while being patriotic citizens of this country but people should understand that Nigeria is not the worst country in the world.

Despite the hardship and lootings by our government I'm still proud to be a Nigerian and I'll rather come from Nigeria than many other countries iwhere there's no peace, for example Iraq, Somalia, North Korea, Dr Congo, Sudan, Yemen, Mexico, Central Africa, Afghanistan and many others. Atleast after the civil war in the 60's we've not experienced another civil war  but there are countries that's been a war year in year out, countries like Syria and Iraq yet people still exist there.

I think if our government could change their bad governance and begin to lead by example, also creating job opportunities, build good roads and infrastructures, restructure our educational system, I think most citizens who's been forced into the streets to commit crimes for survival would begin to change and our country would get better, Nigeria is a country blessed by our maker with so many rich natural resources that could make us compete with developed nations but then bad governance lead us to this point and forced youths to go into various crimes. Well I still believe change is coming and our country would go back to being the giant of Africa.

Nigeria is one of the calmest country when it comes to fights, so I would say those people thinking that it's a mistake to be Nigerian i would say it's because of the financial situation that's has been there since day one that we are giving birth. But currently now it increases everyday some people can't cope with it some aren't working anymore some homeless but you won't put that blame with the leaders or blame because you're from here no. Go other countries they're also facing calamitys as we do. And one the major people that kills us that, most people are mentally unstable in their financial Lifestyle but they'll give birth to more then 5 kids without no work.

So it's never a mistake to be a Nigerian, we blame the government in very areas but we haven't come to our sense one day that the government are doing what they know. Let's not give up because someday everyone is going to be proud of his/she country.

I know Nigeria isn't that good now, things are costly every day we hear that the dollar is high. But now the dollar price is low and things are still costly let the blame not only be for the leaders only but the also the market people as well. But i won't lie to you the government are also trying their best because their are good ones at trying to make things better, we shouldn't use because some are not trying in other states. Where I blame Nigeria most it's when election time comes that's when corruption occurs mostly, and people get tired of voting because who has the majority votes won't be the winner. So that's where I know Nigeria it's mostly corrupt, when it comes to hardworking we're very hard working. Apart from the corruption in elections period and the financial side I think Nigeria is not a country to be regretting to be one then.

This is the most part I noticed that the government are not good at this act, retirement plan. Their are people who are retired and keep on hoping and believing that with their retirement plan (pension) would be paid without no stress or struggling for it, so that they can invest with it but majority today are in their graves because they've waited for it no way. So would say in this particular point the government are not really helping the nation's,

You don't have someone on top you can't get your retirement plan, so if they can put an end to all this stuffs I think majority won't be in the street begging for food. And even when it's comes to work, majority the youth's are not happy at all some would say after spending time and all the years in school no job, why? It's because they don't have someone at the top to help them most of them would say, if they would have known they have lent an handwork the wasting all the time in school. For me Nigeria is a better country but for others I don't think you should rate Nigeria as a mistake in your life. If only they can see the where faults are come but they can't sort all out at one's.

The major reason I will want to think it's a mistake being a Nigerian is the bad leadership of our leaders. Apart from this reason I don't see any mistake being a Nigerian. The so called people that think "it's a mistake being a Nigerian" are still part of those contributing to the corruption the country in their own little way. I would say one man effort probably will not change anything, but when hands are put together we will likely achieve a common goal. You can make your bed suitable for you to lay on, likewise you can make the country in which you reside.

Many things has happened and still happening in our nation, but having the believe that one current condition or even the government can't change is very wrong because the word change is a constant thing, I always use our past election as a lesson despite that the thing never work, it's the first to see that people voice almost speak, issue if endsars is a thing to also tell who ever that believe that change can't happen one day, it only takes one good citizens opportunity to correct all mess or error put in place on this nation.

Those who do said they regret of being a citizen of this nation just need to change their mindset just note that in everything there is a reason for being existing in this place and that should be what you pursue to get, just a a person born into a poor home is not automatic that you will be poor is just left for you to allow change take place in your life by repositioning yourself in pursuing those things that can allivate you at the end you will change the poverty position, first in history 32 year s old became a leader in one of the African country called Kenya it tell you that changes can occurred at any time just position when the  wave is taking place let it fall on you.

I think why people think it’s a mistake to be Nigerian is because it feels like you’re fighting an unending loosing battling where no matter how hard you strive, there’ll always seem to be another obstacle to cross.

I can never loose hope on Nigeria or regret for being a Nigeria because I still believe that Nigeria as a country has a lot of potentials that even some great nations in the world a admiring and craving to have.
The only problem we have corruption, if only we can shun corruption and focus on things that will bring development I believe Nigeria will be a great and develop nation that I everybody will love to be.

Thank you so much for this wonderful question you ask,... well the reason why people think that it is a mistake to be a Nigerian is because someone who is called a Nigerian should have known everywhere in the world and recognize him or her with a good record and not with a bad record,in the sense that Nigeria is been known and clarify as the worse country so ever, which it is not supposed to be like that,no one is proud of himself or herself as a Nigerian because of the things that is going on here in Nigeria.

Alot of people have even change their nationality because they don't want to be among those they label with bad name, and some have travel outside the country and refused to come back they know what Nigerians are passing through, many have travel outside the country to give birth to their child because they don't want the child to be called Nigerian, alot is happening and it has changed the mindset of almost everyone here in the country and alot of people have seen themselves as a mistake been called a Nigerian..

Because they were so irresponsible in making a decision on what may lead to he continued development of their entire career and life as whole, instead they are waiting on someone or the government to push them to the exact direction or in making the decision needed for thier lives, this is nothing than having a low self esteem, everyone all around the world could have that same reason, it's a pity to be born poor and it's one's fault to die been poor, we all have equal opportunity to survive through and make it in life if we never give up.

As you see me so, I no blame any body wey dey deny this country oo, because wattin person dey carry em eye see, em mouth no go fit talk am, according to our children for school, if them wan say the pledge, Dem dey say to serve Nigeria is not by force. Anytime I hear that part na laugh I just dey laugh because if small children fit talk that kind thing, how much more we wey don see things tire for the country hand? If I be any of those people wey dey japa, if I don get something doing for about 5 years, the next thing na to go change my nationality, I no lie you. Because ehh to some extent the country is nothing to write home about. How many times una don hear say people dey come nationalize for this country?

First of all, The government is supposed to make life easier for its citizens with provisions of good roads, health care systems, Electricity and good educational system which makes life easy for everyone living in the country and the opposite is the case, thus triggering a reduction of one's love for its country. The system is becoming more tough that even the middle class right now is finding it difficult to survive.
Despite the fact that the government has failed in doing its job we too should not fail in doing ours, we should no longer depend on the government to make life easier and better for ourselves to live in this country.
It is in you to rule your world.

It's only a fool who will always watch the unwanted situations around him affects his right mind and thinking abilities, we have the right to change our story and rewrite them the way we wanted, if you're born poor doesn't mean that you must die a poor mam, we all got served with different opportunities in life, but there are challenges that comes with every life stages and we must have the determination of being impactful by them when we maintain being on such position.
Very correct despite the country is not in good shape and things are  very difficult it doesn't mean people should just fold their hands and look not knowing what to do just because the government is not working. I think it is high time we need to move forward and not to allow government or politicians to be a parasite of getting to our our destination in  life.  We can still still push ourselves without the government support. You can only help your self before looking for help from anyone.

People actually feels being mistake when they don't get the right expected results.
So most citizens feels it is a mistake of being a Nigeria because they compares what some developed and advanced countries leans to generate its revenue to stabilize a standard economy considering its citizens is not up to that Nigeria could posses.
With the rate and level of our revenues, Nigeria is expected to be better than what it is.
Nigeria is a failed country that has seized to try again and again in order to make a better society instead the government bodies is considered itself a priority while the Masses are considered minorities.
