There is more than one reason to buy bitcoins, i like to buy them as investment (you can say speculation) i think that bitcoin price could double its value in few years. You can transfer your money (bitcoins) from one country to another with very small fees. And because i don't like banks, and bitcoin can fight against the bank system.
you invest into the bitcoin not just for the fun if you are investing into something you hope that you will make allot of money with it not just investing for holding the same value. You will make money and off course with bitcoins you will make allot of money if you are doing it great,

I buy Bitcoin because simply i prefer to make my deals and trades with it, and in addition i hold some amount and store it into my wallet for the price increasing, to make some earning.
I agree with you that holding bitcoin is much more better than spending because the price of bitcoin surely going to rise up its price to higher, and i am sure we will be get a big profit in near future from bitcoin so it is good to save your bitcoin in wallet for future.

most of the time i also hold all of my bitcoins, i dont even do any trading because i know that it make me lose a lot of money if i do wrong decisionsBut I think that will not help you in growing your coins, there will be a day when you should try to earn more money by trying new things, sometimes its good to take risks.

I bought 2 bitcoins before the halving, thinking the price will increase and i will sell at a profit. But unfortunate the price did not increase as much as everyone anticipated.
I buy because it is the time to buy and what I have bought will be intended for my long term investment. I know this a gamble because I might lose my investment as there is no assurance for the future of bitcoin but I believe in bitcoin so I am taking the risk and think about the possible outcome later.

That is exactly what I am doing, I do some trading with bitcoins because I am getting serious now with earning daily, but still I would not forget my long term investment which is to save more bitcoin and hold it for a long period of time.

The main thing is speculation, and I like having digital currency that fluctuates in value. I happen to think bitcoin's price will increase, so my aim is to make money. My guess is that most people on this forum and in the bitcoin community in general have that same aim. We all want to make money. To buy on the dark web? No!

I'm buying bitcoins because because of the technology, functionalities and, compared to the potential value in the future, the price is very good these days. I think Bitcoin is certainly one of the currencies with the best future ahead.

I was very amazed on bitcoin and got so much curiosity on what it can do. My friend told me that it is like a fiat currency so I buy like a 0.1 btc and invest it because I want to get rich quick idea on it. Invested some of it on investment sites that turned out to be scam. I felt like lucky before and then do some gambling which is up until now I did not know why I do it as I do not believe on it. Today I do not buy bitcoin unless I need to pay them through btc. But as much as possible I will earn it.
