He's said that bitcoin is a rat poison so I assume that he hates it too much. He might not understand what bitcoin really is but there's one thing that we can think of why he hates it.

And that is because bitcoin is against to the traditional investments that he has grown and he has. Another reason can be that he's old enough to understand what bitcoin truly is all about. But someday it might happen that he will take back his words against bitcoin.

For some losers, grapes are always sour... I respect Warren Buffet for the tremendous achievements he had during the 1970s and 1980s. But times have changed and Mr. Buffet is unable to keep up with the changing economic climate. From his interviews, it is very clear that he is unable to understand the basic concept of decentralized currency. And opposing anything that we don't really understand is a basic human trait.
when people are comfortable with the situation, they may be reluctant to leave the seat of glory. by not keeping up with the times, of course someone cannot develop, and later the victim is the employee who works for him

If you understand the evolution of money and tulip investing, it all makes sense.

Oh, here we go with the Tulip thing again. You know the so-called Tulip Bubble was just a urban myth and a story that was made up... right? See this : http://theconversation.com/tulip-mania-the-classic-story-of-a-dutch-financial-bubble-is-mostly-wrong-91413

Let's get back to the title of your thread ..... Warren Buffet made his fortune in the old traditional financial tools, with the help of insider information from his super rich buddies.    Wink

He also wants people to investment in Berkshire Hathaway Inc. and not in Crypto currencies.  Wink

Warren Buffet is really of the old school way of investing that is why he is successful as he is more on stable and solid companies. Now, he is admittedly not good on tech companies that is why he never invested with Google and Facebook back in their start-up days (I am not updated though if he has already included these companies in his portfolio presently). This can be the big reason why he feared Bitcoin or cryptocurrencies for that matter...and it is not really because he hates bitcoin but because he simply could not fully grasp the significance and value of the digital assets. Anyway, he is generating publicity for Bitcoin so in a sense he is actually helping the digital gold get more popular...and we have to thank him for that.

for us decentralized currency is merit but for buffet same merit is demerit as no govt or central bank back it so it is just speculative asset.
Prices of bitcoin are so much volatile and no doubt sometimes it is manipulated also, so this one may be the 2nd reasons for him to bash btc.
But the way he hate shows he is confident of his opinion and do not want to give time to crypto market get stability as it is just beginning and we need to do more work here for adoption like fiat and gold. So there should be criticism instead of having arrogant view on btc.

If you understand the evolution of money and tulip investing, it all makes sense.

Because however he analyzes it, Bitcoin cannot convince his old mind that it is a sound investment, or even a sound money. He does not see value in it. Well, he sees value with fiat, on the contrary. That means there is something wrong with his mind, perhaps too much traditional? The numbers that Bitcoin has shown as proof that it has appreciated so much is simply foreign to him. Let him be.

Warren Buffet doesn't hate bitcoin and he has never said anything like that. he either doesn't understand bitcoin which makes sense since his investments are towards things that he can touch with his hands or fully controls and bitcoin is neither one of them. or he has been accumulating bitcoin while FUDing others not to.
he didn't said that he hate Bitcoin but he is spreading negativity related to Bitcoin .  I don't believe that he didn't understand Bitcoin because he is a professional guy and I also don't think that he didn't invest on Bitcoin . Maybe that is his strategy to create fuds so that people will panic sell and he can take advantage of the situation  .

additionally you can call bitcoin Tulip, bubble, fraud, ponzi,... as much as you like, it will not change a thing. bigger people have been saying it more than you way before you and it didn't change anything Wink
Yes anyone can say whatever they want regarding on bitcoin but if influencial people will say negative stuffs , Bitcoin will be in threat  because other people might easily believe on it .

Not everyone would invest in bitcoin, it so happened that he is one of the haters of Bitcoin, we can move on to that, it's just one person though that person is a billionaire but this market we are now would not stop in just billion dollars as we keep growing due to the growing support.

Actually it's hard to read the might of the rich people, they are clever, so maybe they hate now but change their decision in the future.

you need to understand they some how fear this tech because its slowly kill the value of paper its like uber to taxi....

They see this as a threat but we see bitcoin as a good technology and that’s why it keeps on pumping. Warren hate this because its decentralized and he can’t control the mind of people, same belief with other government and companies especially banks. The evolution of money has gone so far, and it bring us to the technology of cryptocurrency which is good right now.

He hates it for a few reasons. Honestly when I first heard about Bitcoin back in 2012/2013, I also assumed it was some type of scam. It wasn't until I actually started mining BTC in late 2013 before I discovered how useful it can be.

Bitcoin has left a bitter taste in many peoples mouths because the media in the 2011-2014 years mostly covered bitcoin news when it was negative. Like it losing 50% value very quickly, Silkroad indicent, MtGox hacks, etc. They generally never discussed Bitcoin in the positive news. Hence why when most people read the headlines back then, it sounded like something negative. I think Warren's reason is not much different.

However he is an old dinosaur, and from what I heard doesn't even use a smart phone. He just sticks to stocks which he is good at buying and doesn't want to get involved in Crypto because he is pretty much retired.

Why is everyone so adamant that Warren needs to understand and learn about bitcoin, he is an old person to understand the changing technology and in his experience he never saw anything like that and since he made all his money in the financial market he could not understand the logic behind a decentralized economy and you cannot blame or take a old mans word seriously  Tongue.

Warren Buffet was tried to convince many times by many people. But as he does not understand technology, So he said I do not need a pc.  So why will he care about a thing like bitcoin or any other digital system? Warren Buffett always looks for ways to invest money on something which will have profit. And he has to understand it and be sure about it. so all the company shares he bought he knows that it has some values left in them.
