How does Satoshi's anonymity affect the trust of users and investors in the Bitcoin network? Can this anonymity be considered an asset or a drawback for the legitimacy of the cryptocurrency?
Something is usually what you make of it, and while the anonymity of the founder of Bitcoin does not matter, to some other people, they have made it their argument and the reason why they would never trust Bitcoin. The truth about it is that their opinion or how they perceive the anonymity of the founder of Bitcoin does not affect the value that Bitcoin has and does not stop other people from benefiting from it, so based on their perspective, it has become their loss.

The anonymity that the founder of Bitcoin has is an asset because if the identity was known long ago, the government would have had someone to point at to blame, and maybe that would have affected the growth that Bitcoin has had.

I firmly believe that Satoshi (whether it be a single person or a group of people) had planned to never reveal their identity form the very beginning.  It only makes sense if you think about it.  In order for bitcoin to be the currency of the people, they needed it to not have a central figure behind everything.  By not having a main person, or CEO or whatever you'd want to call it, it helped prove that this is a decentralized currency not controlled by any one person.

Definitely an asset.

In this sector any kind of public facing developer is a liability. Honestly I'm not even sure whether Bitcoin and the other cryptocurrencies in its footsteps would have ever taken off the way they did if it were publicly known who satoshi really is. It is the only way how Bitcoin could ever be truly owned by the public.

Thank you for your insight!

I agree that Satoshi's anonymity is a key asset. It prevents any single individual from influencing Bitcoin, preserving its decentralized nature. If Satoshi were known, it could undermine the idea of community ownership.

What are your thoughts on how this anonymity might affect Bitcoin’s future?

I consider this a positive thing, so asset. If we look at the second biggest Crypto currency Ethereum, we know the owner and if he tweets something bearish, I am definitely sure the price of Ethereum will suffer. So there's an extra factor in there that will manipulate the price which is missing from Bitcoin, I am very thankful for satoshi to go anonymous. We all know so many people afterwards wanted everyone to think of them satoshi but failed.

Lol! what trust you are talking about? Do you realise that Bitcoin is a the largest cryptocurrency in the market with a market cap of 67 billion USD?

Satoshi's anonymity is a huge asset for the Bitcoin network which precisely shows its benefits. So we don't need Satoshi to share his/their identity at all. Bitcoin is doing great without his identity and I am sure that it will continue to do great.

Not an asset nor a drawback, it's nothing.

Satoshi and Bitcoin are two different thing, even Satoshi is the one who created Bitcoin, but he has no way to control Bitcoin. He can influence the market if he moved his 1 Million of Bitcoin, but if it just his identity is revealed publicly, it doesn't affect the demand and supply.

That's why I said, either Satoshi identity is keep anonymous or leaked, we don't need to worry.

I don't think the disappearance of satoshi have anything to do with bitcoin I think he has already played is part as the inventor and this is like one of the best projects especially in finance. And even without is presence, people still choose to give investing in bitcoin a chance because the anomity makes it more interesting I know exactly what you are talking about the legitimacy and bitcoin have gone pass trying to make people trust the investment.

A lot of people would have been wondering why satoshi decided to make him self unknown to people maybe for is own safety and by now I think a lot of people would have gone pass all this and don't be surprised that satoshi might even be among us nobody can really tell, their moght be other reasons why he does not want to disclose his identity. I know a lot of people who will want to make their self open to the world just because of how they will want people to acknowledge them for this amazing innovation.

And we can not tell if is still alive or what ever reason will be best know to him so leaving things this way will be better, for the sake of everything we are thinking, is not important we should focus on how to make our investment better.

Nah! there's nothing like that, Buddy put aside the identity of Satoshi what about the Bitcoin isn't its doing good enough, What are your expectations, A person did something good and the users are not worried about what he did for them they want to know who he is ? isn't its silly on a simple node.

There can be many reasons behind this and as its not disclosed by himself you and me and many others are gonna put their own perspectives on his that action. Ahhh I don't know what am i writing now. In simple there's nothing special it can be as simple as I'm writing this post.

Satoshi would have been in an underground prison right now, if he or they were not anonymous. Bitcoin project would have been long dead, buried and forgotten if he or they were not anonymous. This forum would have been confiscated by the authorities or archived, if he or they were not anonymous. El Salvador would still be a shadow of its former self, if he or they were not anonymous. These are all my assumptions which I know are most probably what would have happened. It is because he or they are anonymous that is which we trust the bitcoin network. We have checked it out, there is no one in the person of Satoshi lording over the network. And it grants greater credence to its legitimacy.

How does Satoshi's anonymity affect the trust of users and investors in the Bitcoin network?
Users and investors of bitcoin understand the importance of privacy and anonymity Moreover I think they appreciate that Satoshi is anonymous because it strengthens the image of decentralization. I mean even if Satoshi wasn’t anonymous, bitcoin will still be decentralized but the fact that no one quite literally knows who is bitcoin’s creator prevents bitcoin from being attacked through Satoshi.

Like I said we bitcoin users value privacy over anything else

Maybe it does prevent bitcoin from being truly recognized by all forms of government but I wouldn’t want to give up my privacy and anonymity just so the government can recognize bitcoin

Only Satoshi has the best answer. I think all members of this forum are thinking based on the value and development of Bitcoin so they can give various opinions. I agree about security for him and of course for the development of Bitcoin. I imagine that if he is found out then there will be many relationships that will continue to put pressure on him. The state, the media, the community, even people as criminals. I think let him be unknown, not look like an angel who continues to be able to see the development of Bitcoin. IMO

Have you seen what happened to mixer/wallet devs? Satoshi would end up in jail if he ever revealed his identity to the public. Even if he wasn’t sentenced to prison, his life would be in danger. He was wise to stay anonymous. He preferred to live a silent/modest life.

People who want flash, chicas, lambos and shiet don’t fly straight. If you want to last long in the world of finance, you gotta learn to fly straight, lay low. Only a noob would buy a lambo with his newly acquired wealth.

If it was a drawback, it wouldn't remain as of this time. It's one of the mysteries of why Bitcoin succeeds. If it's known that he held a million supply of Bitcoin and then they're revealed, no one would trust the project, and no one will stick to Bitcoin.

But that added flavor to Bitcoin from its infancy up to this point. Their identity not being revealed has given decentralization and trust from the people. Yes, Bitcoin is all about trust by the community and the value of it relies on that.

First time in history I guess or one of if there are other existing to have this trustless project that has grown in value and it's an asset. to be considered.

To add to the mystery, even HBO produces it's own documentary and identified another person, but we all know that is not Satoshi.
And they didn’t even care about the criticism over the documentary because it doesn’t really make the community happy. Every time there’s news or a documentary hinting at the "revelation of Satoshi," it always ends up disappointing. The whole point is just to hype people up to watch it, but it never actually reveals anything real. I mean, no one really knows who Satoshi is, and all these documentaries do is tease without delivering any real answers.

How does Satoshi's anonymity affect the trust of users and investors in the Bitcoin network?
It is a plus, not a most important thing for value of Bitcoin. Because if Satoshi Nakamoto is still alive, and his or their identity is known, what will governments globally can do with Satoshi Nakamoto?

Almost nothing. They can not request Satoshi Nakamoto to halt Bitcoin blockchain, or make a network 51% attack, whatsoever. If you understand it, you will no longer be fearful about stories of Satoshi Nakamoto.

If there is anything like an assset or drawback, it's for Bitcoin, not cryptocurrency. Bitcoin is Bitcoin, as it is itself. Cryptocurrency is about altcoins, shitcoins, meme tokens, and personally I don't put them at a same level and importance of Bitcoin.

I think it's obvious that it's an asset or become an asset. People become curious and so it contributed to the popularity of Bitcoin in the last 10 years or so.

And with that, it become so legitimate that the price keeps on reaching new all time high every 4 years. There was even a infamous person who lay claim to be Satoshi, but obviously he was fake.

To add to the mystery, even HBO produces it's own documentary and identified another person, but we all know that is not Satoshi.

Knowing that Satoshi's wallet has not been assessed for a long time gives the confidence that he didn't create Bitcoin just to become rich. His anonymity also proves he wants the system to be truly decentralised. Trusting a system that runs smoothly without the identity of the creator is better because a known inventor can easily influence the product. So Satoshi's facelessness is an asset to Bitcoin.

The anonymity is not a draw back at all. Satoshi remain anonymous because he wants people to know that they are Satoshi if they they have impact in the development and progress of bitcoin. Also he wants bitcoin to be more similar to assets like gold and others because no man created them. I am not saying bitcoin is not different from gold but I hope you understand what I mean.

Look at how successful Bitcoin is today, along with its investors--that’s all because Satoshi stayed anonymous. If Satoshi wasn't, things could've turned out very differently, with other cryptos possibly giving Bitcoin a serious competition. I can’t predict the future, but I really believe Bitcoin's success is tied to Satoshi staying in the shadows.

And honestly, that’s what most forum members are saying too, Satoshi should stay anonymous.

If you’re interested in reading what others have to say, or maybe even sharing your own thoughts, take some time to check out this thread.

What is your message to the real Satoshi?
