Maybe as a "newbie jail replacement" newbies should be required to answer a random question about the forum rules for each posting they write?
After 100 postings they'd know the rules by heart Grin

Onkel Paul

Very interesting rule  Grin ,  I hope theymos will add this feature in the new forum software.

No.

It's more of a scavenger hunt for account farmers, bots, one-liner-newbies, Dank, scammers, Joey, and pretty much anyone else. Everyone on Bitcointalk has done it. It's the initiation.

What - do you think your rank doesn't matter unless you're joining a signature campaign, selling something, or getting a loan? Silly low levels.

Your conclusion (about me) is wrong and your words are... not nice.
If you read up, I was surprised to get to Full Member. Of course, I took the opportunity, and I see you did that too.
My posts were driven by common sense and from what you can see, I didn't do really bad. Actually my interest for the rules became high since a few weeks ago, but the reason is that I've got message that one of my posts was removed. And then (yes, only then) I thought that I should really read the rules, which where hard to find.

But yeah, ... actually ... you can believe what you want, it's a free world.

Thank you, it was a good read. It really needs to be in a more visible place...

-snip-

And the silly question of the day: where are those (important) stickies? Is it the "NEWBIE README" from "Beginners & Help"? (If it's that, I am sure that more than 60% of the users have never read it.)

Just read the FAQ https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/unofficial-list-of-official-bitcointalkorg-rules-guidelines-faq-703657
it has all the infos Cheesy

Though I am (surprisingly?) full member, I am still a newbie in this forum - especially regarding the rules (yeah, my bad, I know). So although the start of this thread was fun, it turned out as something informative for me.

A "thank you" goes especially to Dare.

No offense at all, but that's why I hope we can find some ways to force new bitcointalk users to read those important stickies  and force every users to revise them once a while.

None taken, you are completely right.
But maybe, just maybe, this forum/software is not structured well? For example the most important links you can always see are "Show unread posts...", "Show new replies.." and "Watchlist".
Maybe a new link (Forum rules?) would be welcome there.

why im still full member?!

So how much are you going to sell that account for? Better find some fool quick before it gets banned.

By asking a stupid question, you just attracted attention to yourself and your motives.

He probably will be. First thing I do is check a user's posts when people post in here about why their activity isn't rising and most of the time they've been shitposting.

It'll be about four months at your current rate; in the meantime, try to improve the quality of your posts. There's no reason to want high activity except for signature campaigns, and they won't pay you unless you improve your posts considerably. Try to write out longer and more thoughtful responses, use proper spelling, grammar, and sentence structure, and avoid posting things like "+1", "I agree", and this one you wrote yesterday:

I don't think he's doing it for a signature campaign. He probably thought he could spam his way to senior member in a day or two and then sell the account.

140 shity one-line posts in a few days is not going to make a Full Member go Senior? I wonder why he isnt banned yet.

That he did, hopefully it will help him see the error of his ways. Smiley

I just wish more people actually looked for stuff rather than attempting to make other people think for them; something like 75% of my posts in Meta are just responding to those with links to the appropriate topics and quotes of my previous answers (and complaints about people ignoring the search function). I'd say someone should make a sticky about it, but... Tongue
