Governments just want to have control about everything happening in their country.
They dont want to lose even just 1 cent to not payed taxes.
Additionally they think its anonymous which means that everyone using bitcoins does illegal stuff Roll Eyes

I think some countries ban Bitcoin just because they are not able to effectively control it. They cannot renounce control, so they ban.

Not neccessarily because potential illegal activities, but to keep things controlled

Bitcoins can never be controlled, even if the Government doesn't come in support of bitcoins, people would continue to use bitcoins by any means, bitcoin is banned because Governments and Banks are fear of bitcoins and they view bitcoins as threat to their businesses and entire banking systems which is controlled by Government.
Bitcoin cannot be banned but the adoption rate can at least be controlled. Government can choose to close down exchanges and spread bad news about Bitcoin and the citizen won't have any exposure to Bitcoin. If the country have a firewall like the GFW, they can prevent node IPs from connecting and restrict Bitcoin websites.
Usually bitcoin identic with terorist. They usually use it for untraceable transaction purpose.
As we know , some countries might ban bitcoin with those reason
They can't be banned completely. Terrorist fundings can usually be reduced by implemented AML/KYC policies in the exchanges. By banning them completely, the trades would only go underground more.

Of-course a country cannot stop its people from using Bitcoin but they can stop businesses and exchanges in their country to accept/trade in bitcoin and it affects people as they can't buy/sell bitcoins easily and when that happens you have to rely on e-wallet services and trade internationally because you cannot trade directly through your bank account and it's not that cost effective.

Why in some countries Bitcoin is banned is the accepting of Bitcoin by  websites and that are illegal .

I was confused by the first post.
If you are wondering why bitcoin is banned in some countries, it is because it is majorly uncontrollable as it is decentralised. Some countries may also bann it as there are some ways that it can be stolen from people through the use of their bitcoin-qt username and passwords (which can be tracked from some trojans!)

It also cannot be Taxed!

The reason why bitcoin is banned in most of the countries is the fact that the digital currency is being used by criminals all over the world to carry out their illegal currency. With digital currency in use, it becomes next to impossible when you want to track them down. It is called leaving no evidence. The countries therefore through relevant authorities have banned the currency just as a way to curb this fast growing cyber crime. The other reason that the coins are not yet been published as legal currency to transact in.

First of all, bitcoin is only banned in 2 countries, criminals all over the world do NOT use bitcoin, almost none of them use bitcoin. Bitcoin would be way more volatile and have a way bigger volume if criminals all over the world use them. Criminals have been here before bitcoin and trust me they wont start using it now. Again only 2 countries banned bitcoins.

i've been writing letters to my congresswoman to help prepare a bill that would effectively ban bitcoin in the US. The best method of accomplishing this is to attach it to a bill with a similar agenda and name it something whesome and Patriotic like the Liberty Act.

The bill that our privately funded lobby group is drafting starts by banning terrorism which every congressman and senator will no doubt support. It then goes on to ban sinister cryptography (including bitcoin and any public blockchains)(private bank chains will still remain legal). Finally, on the 2271th page, a provisional rider is attached that will make all math (above the 3rd year Calculus level) illegal punishable by planting schedule 1 plants and/or fungi on your person just prior to search and seizure.

The best part of this bill is that we are making it illegal to read before it goes up for a vote in the house and senate, so just like Obamacare and TTIP, we will be forced to pass it into law before we can read what is inside it.

Well good luck to that will be surprise if they pass on it and approve. Theirs too many bills in place and need to be scraped. US and bills and crap and some of the rules in place are shocking. I mean come on having to have a licence to sell fresh food when you have you kids have a little bit of fun then, you have the feds stop you and ask are they licensed to sell their products. No Sir, kindly stop and pack up or be prosecuted. Bill like that need to be removed. But when it comes to more strict things like crypto currency US need to get a grip and rethink and relies how much better their state would be to approve of it.

In most places, government don't have specific regulations on it and in several country, they are restricted or banned. Bitcoin transactions can still be sent and it can still be used but government can choose to censor sites which promotes Bitcoin or exchanges. Governments want more control over their citizen and prevent illegal money laundering and terrorist financing. More importantly, tax evasion is very possible with Bitcoin.

Bitcoin being banned in a number of of countries is because they are tight fuckers or cant have any central control over it and governments crack down on this because if it is something they have no control over then they will ban it or by making some serious regulations and rules in place to use it. Take parts of US totally banned or not allowed to use it and if Gov gets wind of it your braking the law. But most and a lot of people still use it and have access to it. It is just places buying and selling and exchanging that get banned and lawsuits made against them to seize trading and close down. the other things that many are banning for is because it works anonymously which can create a lot more problems from crime, drugs, black market, and illegal activity. Next comes down to tax on transactions and they cant control this so they ban and stop for them reasons alone. Cant track, cant control, cant do shit means they will ban it.

Iceland and the second one is Thailand, can't say for sure but the one in the middle is definitely Iceland
i see in news if iceland banned bitcoin
why is iceland so hate with bitcoin?

confusing  Undecided

Criminals probably ruined it for everyone over there. That's my best guess.

Is not like criminals existed before bitcoins right? Come on now, the excuse of criminals is a bit ridiculous, they have been using normal currencies for crimes until now and wont stop using them.

Where did you get this from? Can you please share some links with this news!

Iceland is very small. Even if they banned Bitcoin, I see no great repercussions for us. But I doubt this to be true. I mean, I think that these small nations are pretty much waiting to see what will bigger, more powerful nations do first in order to decide what to do!

because bitcoin is pseudoanonym and it's volatile nature so in some country their goverment wouldn't accepted bitcoin, since they're worried if bitcoin will adopted and peple do money laundry or negative things like gun or drugs trading, in fact not only with bitcoin people do that even with their own currency same thing could happen
yeah right, even with their own currency same thing could happen
thats is the point, bitcoin can facilitate it all, if you do not use bitcoin course, a lot of criminal money laundering? especially bitcoin legalized? will be a great deal of money laundering?
