Bitcoin and other crypto currencies are "kind of a pure 'greater fool theory' type of investment," Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates said Monday on CNBC's "Squawk Box."
"I agree I would short it if there was an easy way to do it," he said.
Gates added someone once gave him some bitcoin for his birthday, but he sold it a few years afterward.
According to previous discussion with Bill Gates in CNBC He telling he totally doesn't like the crypto currencies. according to my knowledge and experience in this world no one wants to risk their money without any reasons like bill gates. Bill Gates already have lot of money and most of his business are run by USD. If one day bitcoin increase then his all business will be get down I think that is the main reason he doesn't like to invest money for crypto currency.

and also I 100% agreed with some articles in discussion. Everybody have most valuable ideas as I thought and I think my ideas also will help.

We know that ICO is a risky thing. Many people invest in ICO, but not everyone can see the face of profit because most ICOs do not reach their target and they are forced to scam. Again many projects do not get the price because the funds are not reached .

So maybe the bill gets not supported to invest in ICO.

They are not just any individual they great businessman who have the best knowledge almost about everything that may be worth investing to them. And because of this idea, It might be that they have really studied bitcoin before saying anything about it whether if it is good or not. If he thinks he cannot earn as much compared to his business then it is possible that he would never participate on it. And also if Bill Gates have not participated in cryptocurrency investments, then maybe he didn't even need to invest at all because he was really rich as of now.

I dont think that bill gates still not into cryptocurrency. i think that guy has its own mining room.
BITCOIN and cryptocurrency has made them richer as the mining industry need their computer and parts.

I suppose he has several reasons for being against. They are: 1. Cryptocurrency has anonymous nature. 2. For now it has speculative nature and does not have any tangible value and 3. It is rather unstable.

Obviously, he will be against cryptocurrency because cryptocurrencies pose a potential threat to his capital. If everyone starts using the crypt actively and it officially takes the status of a valid currency in the world, the cost of Fiat money will begin to strive for zero, as the need for them will slowly disappear.

I dont think he is against cryptos, I only think he as many others would like to have a regulated market. Once this happens AML BitCoin will be accepted everywhere since its the only compliant coin.

I think such comments can be justified by the instability of cryptocurrency prices. I think I read an article about half a year ago that Gates has Bitcoins! Cool
