I really cannot say why ethereum is on the rise, but it could be as a result of news. Also what goes down will surely go up for coins with potentials. Mayb one of these spiked the price, or probably, the demand was vert high.

From my point of view, when the investment in a crypto currency increase then it's price also increase. ETH is taken as the next Bitcoin. Bitcoin has a good high price value as it's investment is huge and also it's a trustworthy currency. ETH is gaining these quality day by day. I think one day the price of Ethereum will be like Bitcoin but at that time the price of Bitcoin will also increase to a good amount.

We all know that the Ethereum blockchain is one of the best invention project with so many projects adapting it nowadays, still mass adoption is one of the best asset of this project so far, with so applications that has been existed because of this project. The upcoming Constantinople upgrades would greatly help this Ethereum become the best, and let's hope for it to happen and let's all pray that the implementation of this upgrades would come closer.

There is no good news on Ethereum now so I am inclined to the fact that we will now fall and not grow , I think the growth of Ethereum is also connected with bitcoin in most part and more depends on it
