Yeah, gambling is not that complicated like Bitcoin can be to everyone. As a kid everyone has experienced gambling in one way or the other. Bitcoin came into existence a decade back and most of the humanity still doesn't know that Bitcoin exist. Whereas if you ask about gambling to anyone on the street they would know about it. Although you wouldn't hear anything good about it. Comparing both doesn't make any sense for me. This is like comparing Bitcoin with gold wherein both are different entities.

Bitcoin versus gold is still a better comparison since both of them can at least be considered assets that can be owned by a person and they both require investment and can provide profits on the investments, but comparing Bitcoin with gambling is something totally out of context and isn't really understandable. Even if we are talking about the number of fans both have, they are totally different things and will surely have different amounts of fans as well.

As you said, gambling has been around for centuries, while Bitcoin is barely a decade and a half old, and gambling is an addictive activity that lures people in since it has the potential to provide significant profits while Bitcoin might be volatile but it doesn't guarantee very high returns on investments.

Comparing who is most fond of Bitcoin or gambling actually doesn't match. Bitcoin is a digital currency which, like Fiat, is used for transactions and gambling is where people place bets. Yes, you are right that indeed the two are very difficult to compare because it is already seen that gambling is the fastest place to spend money if you are not lucky but bitcoin or bitcoin investment is a place to save money without losing everything as long as bitcoin does not drop in price to 0.

Well, the sports industry combined with the gambling industry is growing which could be one of the factors on why it's more popular now.

I don't even know why the OP thought that bitcoin and gambling are comparable and it definitely makes no sense to compare it because it is completely a different thing.

Based on what is mentioned above, yes it's true that before bitcoin came into existence, gambling has been with us already since time immemorial and it is also the very same reason why there are a lot more gamblers in this world compared to the ones who actually bought and invested into bitcoin. I mean, there are some people who did both things, but if we are going to compare each other's figures, bitcoin investors doesn't even come close with how many gamblers there are.

I understood your idea. It turns out that the main factor, when choosing between Bitcoin and Gambling, for people is Gambling in view of the fact that this allows you to make an instant profit (if it was so. because the casino makes a profit, not a players). You are right, there is common sense in these arguments. No one wants to wait years to invest in Bitcoin to make a profit and most will want mountains of gold here and now, which is exactly what gambling gives (illusion).
