According to my understanding both Gambling and Bitcoin investment are risky. Gambling is not that new if you compared it with Bitcoin and gambling is basically a game played for entertainment. As Bitcoin is new to the world when we compare it with gambling there is a belief that the risk of losing money in Bitcoin investment is high than in gambling. Another point that I think is relevant to your topic is the rise of crypto casinos and the downfall of fiat casinos.
As we all know during the pandemic gamblers started shifting from traditional casinos, and online casinos to crypto casinos because of anonymity, security, speed, and convenience. This trend has been increasing as gamblers have started investing in their favorite cryptocurrency for gambling. That being said it does not mean they are buying Bitcoin for gambling as apart from Bitcoin their other crypto is available in these casinos. Why are they avoiding Bitcoin simply because of its volatility?

I think there is a lot of difference between bitcoin and gambling. Gambling is considered as a pastime. Trading with bitcoin is considered commercial. I invest in Bitcoin for profit but I choose to gamble for entertainment. I think there is a lot of difference between the two. The advantage of bitcoin is even if the market collapsed still we cannot be consider at loss since as you said people can do something like just hold their bitcoins and wait for perfect time for market to recover. Unlike on gambling if we lose we can't recover it back unless we continue to bet and will be in more bad shape if we are not lucky then we encounter a losing streak on our bets. Also for popularity discussion gambling is first known before bitcoin and its just casino owner just adopt the market of crypto and they use this as payment methods for crypto users to play on their platform.

This is not an apple to apple comparison. You are comparing apples with oranges. Bitcoin is a decentralized currency, which can be used as an investment and also as a store of value. Gambling is a hobby or sport, and it has no similarity with Bitcoin. A lot of people makes this comparison, because they believe that investing in Bitcoin is very risky and therefore it should be treated similar to the risk from gambling. And a lot of us doesn't agree with that argument. For us, putting our money in Bitcoin is a high-risk high-return investment.
But this is not even supposed to bother you, Is it??.(rhetorical anyways)

And also, for the very fact that it doesn't even take much time to enrich these set of peeps, they've grown apathetic overtime on cryptographical ideas and the essence of Bitcoin as a store of value, talk more of means to make funds from it...
Bitcoin doesn't yield immediate results the way anyone would want it to...and sometimes, things don't even seem to work on your behalf.
