I will answer for  your question with a psychological way:
Well, everything is in your mind, So If you use it intelligently you will succeed, else, you will fail to achieve your goals.

Your mind does not differentiate between negative and positive thoughts, it just executes what you think and It accepts any message from you.
I will simplify my idea by an example as the following:

When you send a message to your mind  and you  tell him "The merit  system is not working with me, and I cannot  get any merit point  "
Then your mind will execute this  message or command in reality.  And you will not be able to get any merit point.

"Your mind is a powerful thing. When you fill it with positive thoughts, your life will start to change."

Dont copy&paste your own posts  Tongue

The best thing to do is have a strategy. You really don’t want to miss out on cryptocurrency and block-chain technology. It’s not really about investing in coins. It’s more so do you believe that cryptocurrency and block-chain are the future.

I believe it’s the future! So for the next 3 years I will invest heavily into cryptocurrency and the technology behind it and also learn, learn, learn more about it. I will then wait to see how things are shaping out after 3 years. If cryptocurrency is not moving the way I truly believe it will move (to the moon), then I will move on to more traditional assets and investments but at least I am still in the cryptocurrency game.

So my advice is at least get in the game with a couple hundred bucks or grand. I am starting with 3k and won’t miss it a lick. I mean the risk is worth it to me. I really am big on cryptocurrency and the technology behind it. It’s like falling in love with the invent of computers back in 1960 or something. So don’t be scared to invest.

Put some money in, leave it and just see what happens because the upside is to promising. Don’t be that person that knew about cryptocurrency but never invested in it, please don’t! Life will be Hell and simply miserable for you, sorry. I’d rather throw a couple hundred dollars away now into cryptocurrency and it not work out as suppose to knowing a $300 investment today could have netted me $1 million R.O.I (return on investment)in the near future. As for me, I’m all the way in!

What about to ask question in a different way: Why is it hard to post quality posts?
It's also another task what's quality post for others. For me it usually comes from mining sections. This is place where people ask and get helps on how to build mining rigs, mod bios and etc. Also can say the same about Bitcoin Technical support section + their moderator is amazing too.
If you see, those people don't have merits....

EmbarrassedLook I have been on here long enough to know how certain things work. I may not be the best writer, but after looking around, the members with the most merits aren't that great either, I mean not in the least, neither do they provide great content or insight. So how did they get all those merits with sub-par content? The senior members say post good content and you will get merits. Hog wash!! It is almost impossible to earn merits on here... Why??? Hope this not a good ole boy's system.... (That's why I love Steemit)!!

Another question??? Who the heck determines what good content is. I provide a lot of insight and I have written some good post here but I never get a merit.

My question is why is it so hard to earn merits on bitcointalk.org. Sounds pretty counter-intuitive to me... Please help someone!!    Huh
I find it difficult or difficult to get Merit very depends on existing regulations as Merit. Speaking of our posting problem may be post as much as possible assessment there are all on that apply merit worthy to be taken merit post it so be handy for us who need Rang to get it all our utamakan top priority we can bermafaat for the Bitcointalk.

Indeed we have always been fuss about Merit, many people who wait for certain merit posting merit to get merit need a very pretty bored process. Well that's the problem why it's hard to get merit. Merit is to be seen from authoritative posts and educational sayings but that is all to determine merit depends on the Forum mondirator is worthy or not worthy of our post....!!!!

Right, I've still got some merits to award, so I'll spend 10 minutes to see who I can find that I think deserves it. I've just looked at the beginners board, and I didn't open any threads, this was because of one or more reasons. The title didn't appeal to me. The Op was on my ignore list, so the thread is greyed out, The thread was too long and I'd read it before. The thread was about a topic that I didn't feel qualified to comment on.

I'm off to the serious discussion and Ivory tower to see what's there. - no updates on those boards since my last visit.

Now for the frog pond.
I gave this guy a merit - https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.32136158
The product is mildly interesting, but may not be practical, but I think it is useful for us to know how the commercial world is embracing cryptocurrencies.

Nothing on any of the other boards that I looked at. I'll have another go later, so get posting with those great topics. Smiley

Dream. Believe. Survive.
The words of dreamers towards merit. Getting this merit can burn your lost dream to pump up your beliefs that despite of nothing you still survive. Some hurts, some celebrate. Some hard, some easily get merit. We all don't know who will in love or attracted to one's good post to give it merit. But we all know that merit is active.

I think it is necessary to make updates of this system with the aim that no good post does not get merit
so that no more complaints anywhere and also so that no party losers

Why dont you stop visiting this forum? I know its not possible for you to do that since "shitposting on bitcointalk" is a daily quota allotment for you now. You are addicted to this forum - face it Pajeet. You need to get a life and get a job, fast. Oh wait, you obviously cant, thats why you shitposters are in this forum.

Yes it is really hard to earn merits. And you need a large value of merits for your rank to goes up, maybe someday the admn will make a reform about the merits system

Dream on shitposters, Dream on. Cool

And, NEWBIE also JR. MEMBER come here not as BOUNTER HUNTER like BEFORE. BUT, Become MERIT HUNTER.SILLY
Make a thousand thread in EVERY Board about merit and most of it just complaining. Well, if you are not Hunter in this Forum, any rank doesn't matter for your participation.

Agreed, if you are posting here with the "Merit Hunter" conception, then face it - you will be considered as a passive merit beggar and wont get any merits from doing so.

There is a limited number of merits to go around, and nearly all merits are actually distributed to people making threads in the meta section. Rather than actually rewarding people for producing engaging or useful content. The fact is that older members are more established, and are hence bigger targets for merit than newer members, this is simply the mechanisms of a community, the newbies get it the worst. Over time you'll start gaining more merit as you become more recognized around here, and as you start catching the eye of merit sources.

At times, our posts get omitted when someone replies to the same thread followed by us. What happens here is, when I read the thread, I get a reply and get into the last page, read the latest posts made and in a hurry I do make post which comes out of my mind. So concentrating on my work at times skips meriting the quality posts. The other reason would be, less number of smerits. When I wish to give smerit to a quality post I come across, my smerit bucket is empty. Then obviously the quality post misses my merit. These are few reasons.

So it was implied that it would be difficult to get merit. It has been said hundreds of times that the new system is designed to weed out spammers and amators who do not learn anything, but just want to raise their rank. Write quality posts, try, do your best, don`t focus on getting merit, but just contribute to the development of the forum.

It is very hard to earn merits because this system is not born for this kind of website (I mean forum) but for social like facebook, instagram etc.
It is not natural for people to grant or congratulate with others for "good posts", moreover the option is not in a very easy position to be found, so many persons do not know of the existence of this feature at all.

Said that, I think also there are some other problems related to this kind of system:
  • Number of merit available to be shared: the number of merit that people can share with others is very low considering the amount of merit necessary to rank up in level. This means people need a lot of merits to rank up (despite of good posts), making it impossible.
  • Number of merits necessary to be reached to rank up: the number of merits necessary to rank up, in particular for high ranks is very high. Try to imagine how many merits someone needs to receive from others to become an Hero member or also a legendary.

I think the admin should try to review the merit system based on those feedbacks and try to see if they can improve the system in order to let people becoming familiar with this feature, starting to share merits to people that deserve them.

"It is not natural for people to grant or congratulate with others for "good posts" "  What do you mean? There are many websites that are based like that, reddit, 9gag, funnyjunk,etc... So it's nothing new, tho I agree that's it's a little hidden but people just aren't that used to it yet.

1. That's why we have merit sources and did you expect to rank up in a month or two?

2. Not quite true, that all depends on you.

It's good, people are just expecting to be ranking up faster than usual.

If it's easy to earn merits, then the main objective of why this system is made, fail. Why it is hard? This is to prevent other users to continuously create a spam posts and to encourage user to create constructive posts as possible. There are already threads that you could care to drop by that already explain how do this system will work. As said also anyone could be a merit source if and only they met a certain requirements given that it would be the readers intuition if they find your post/s informative, constructive, and/or humurous then it will be rewarded with a merit. Though, don't expect that everybody will agree or love what you post/s.

The number of merits required to get membership upgrade increases as your membership grade increases which has the tendency to make higher members a bit more reluctant in giving out merits cos they need it also.

You need to reread the posts about the merit system. You need merit to remove the block on ranking up. The merits you earn stay with you, and you can't give them away. sMerit is the merit you can award, and if you give away all of your sMerit, it has no effect on your ranking potential, or the quantity of merit you have been awarded.

I agree that number of posts alone should not be the basis for upgrade of membership but quality of posts, thats why the merit system was introduced, which is good. but i also agree the merit system is flawed and could be improved upon. The number of merits required to get membership upgrade increases as your membership grade increases which has the tendency to make higher members a bit more reluctant in giving out merits cos they need it also. I would rather prefer an upvote system where everyone is required to upvote comments after a particular number of comments is reached before they can comment and your upvotes helps in your upgrade.

Yes it is true, i understand each and everyone in the forum is having a hard time of earning merits, and it is hard to realize how and what’s the basis of earning merits, and i think every member is of the same sentiments. Everyone tried his best to make a constructive post as much as possible. I hope someday the merit system will be reform or be removed, because there will be no more chance of ranking up if merit system is still active, but on the other hand, i respect and obey whatever rules being implemented, it’s just an opinion if being heard😊
