In my opinion, long term investment is more profitable than day time trading as doing long term will less pressure from the market volatility and you have more time to other activities that can divert your attention when the market is down. Just be patient and trust you coins.

I agree with what you said. Long term trading is suitable for people who cant frequently monitor the market or dont want to have headaches when the market is not what they expected it to be.

I've been a long term hodler for more than a year now and I chose this strategy because this is the best that suits me as I also have day job.

Short term or long term I believe they are profitable and it will depends on the trader itself how to manage their investment. Choosing the right coin and timing when to sell is important regardless what strategy to use.
Holding for the long term is simply the best strategy so if you care about making money, and I suppose that as an investor you care about such a thing, then you need to hold for the long term, I know that not everyone likes to do it and they prefer to trade for the short term, but the amount of effort you need to do, the fees and the taxes you need to pay make it a strategy that very few can employ successfully.
the purpose of both is to gain profit, if indeed we have a daily work other than in the field of cryptocurrency, long-term trading is the right choice to do. but if our goal to earn a quick profit should choose the short-term trading way because the money we have invested not too long frozen, but the capital we spend can quickly turn back to get the benefits

There is simple reason why mostly people prefer because cryptotrading is not marhin call so as ling as we keep our asset and there is big chance to grow again. Longterm is a great strategy to get bigger profits. because now the market is not so good so holding will be good choice.

Any short term traders making money during all these coins dropping in price?  Because if you bought it a while ago and hold, you are down a lot in many coins.. some are down 90 percent...

I prefer long-term trading because I think Bitcoin is the future and will increase in value. Also from my experience, I think long-term trading will give you more profit than short-term.

Hello all, I am engaged in trading and I am often asked by beginners how to trade long-term or short-term strategy.
For beginners, I would advise you to trade long-term, but such trade does not suit impatient people, sometimes you have to wait a very long time, a couple of months, and maybe a year, and sometimes even more.
This strategy has a number of advantages, especially for beginners.
1. Compared to intraday trading, you do not need to be in front of a computer and watch the price 24/7, so the trader experiences less emotional stress.
2. Only when using long-term trading, it is realistic to take above 100% of the profit from 1 deal. With intraday strategy, this is hardly possible (except that a miracle will happen).
3. Unlike intra-day trading, you do not need to be a professional, enough to have basic knowledge.

Why I recommend this strategy. Based on personal experience, I often sold coins for example + 30% and literally in a week could sell + 100%.
You can also put a stop loss when the price is + 30%,and move the stop as the price increases.

This is my opinion, I do not force you to adhere to this strategy, study trading if it interests you and find your strategy.
I hope someone helped, If you have any questions, ask always happy to help.. Good luck!BTCBTC

Now that you have an idea on both what do you think about profitability if you compare the two. Which is more profitable? Day trading or longterm trading?

In my opinion, not all of the altcoins and tokens are suitable to make long term investment. In my way of thinking, if you want to be successful at holding and daily trading, you should know always when to make buying and when to make selling, that's all.

Yes, I wrote about this couple of messages back. That not all coins are suitable for long-term trading.
For a long time it is worthwhile to trade on coins with large capitalization.

Because long term holding pays off much higher in returns. With short term trading you can buy free lunch but with long term trading you can find yourself buying whole new car or similar big things..
That is only if a trader was able to pull it off. At the end of the day, trading long term does not guarantee profit would be made anymore than short term trading could. What looks like an advantage with long term trading is in the hope it brews that the extra time would bring good tidings, but the market price remains the ultimate decider interestingly, there are profitable traders in both divide.
The longer the term of your trades then your long term trading becomes just long term holding and while there is no guarantee you are going to get profits the chances are way better, just look at the charts if you pick any random moment to hold your coins until now in most cases you will have profits, the only months in which this is not true are the past December and January, so you could have bought your bitcoin at any time except those two months and you will have some profits.

it will be a useful strategy to be less influenced by negative movements in the short term due to the long-term investment.

But you have to take into account the coin you are investing with because it might be a dead coin so even if you bought it at a cheaper price, it might not go back up again even if the crypto market recovers and you will just hope that the coin would be pump. Bad thing is that you will be stagnant in a coin for a long time if you made a mistake in choosing a dead coin. If possible, choose the coins that have been long standing and has bigger trade volumes since most likely they are active coins and the team behind it too. If you choose and ICO then better monitor its progress all the time since the team has yet to prove its ability to develop the project.

Yes, you are right for a long-term trade all coins do not fit.
I generally trade coins with a large capitalization, it is best to trade on the top 10 - 30 by coinmarketcap.

if you look at the current situation of the market is experiencing a lot of decline then I strongly agree with your opinion for long-term investment because with us make long-term investment then we will get a lot of profite in the future .. crypto will grow not within 1- 7 days but will grow within a period of 1-2 years, so be patient for the future Cool

Long-term trading is not for impatient people, you must have a good patience to trade long-term, whereas short-term trading can be done anyone, however I think everyone needs to give enough for trade learning before start trading in cryptocurrencies.

If you believe that there is a good potentials of a project then you will also believe that long term holding is a big win. Ethereum ,Bitcoin and other top 10 alts is a long term projects except for a fork like BCH. Crypto thingy is not all about but it is all about technology if you believe some future technologies of crypto like cross-chain transactions hyper TPS then look for a project that develop this kind of technology invest their project and hold your investments and you will see a multiples of gains afterwards.
