I don't do online games too much, strickly speaking, I am firmly bad in such games. If I don't do gambling, usually I will chat with other people in bitsler or do my other activities that I find more interesting.
I do play Online games again because i don't have the spare Bitcoin to gamble, i'm also playing to not get involve for a awhile in Bitcoin price until it recovers, I am playing the newest MMORPG here (BDO) and it really is helping me not to gamble and an effective way to consume a lot of time.
Games have their own benefits and entertainment value. But gambling with real money and having them at stake based on your wins and losses provide a different kind of thrill.
That is the point. Online games do not involve this element. For those people who love to take risk and are adventurous by nature, these games become boredom after few shots. Risking money, waiting for the results, the hope of winning and the moments before the outcome are what gambling makes attractive to risk takers. In addition to this, everyone has his own taste. So our definitions and means of entertainment vary from individual to individual.Exactly, it is about the thrill.. the calculations, the dreams. I've done both (gambling and gaming) for the last decade and they give me different kinds of joy and I enjoy them in extremely different ways. Besides, I still don't get why we have to pick one of the two, let people do what they want instead
Yeah exactly, when there's little time I can go for some slots or dice as you say.. When I have a lot of time I can play some online games (CS:GO, PUBG, etc.).. I rarely play poker when I have little time as I only play tournaments, sometimes they can take 6 hours if you are playing good enough
It is because online games is its just for fun only or less profit, but gambling gives enjoyment and gives profit. But if we think gambling is so addicted, but almost people prefer to gamble rather than on games. Even if gambling is risky than online games, but gambling is more excitement.
That's a sort of saying, I was chatting on yolodice other day and asked who all are here just to gamble for fun and who are here to make serious money the results were shocking to me

It is pretty obvious that not only for fun and an entertainment is the purpose of the gambler instead they need a winning with reward. in online games you win buy happiness is the result when you win unlike in gambling that happiness, trill and the reward. Without money involve you can play not seriously instead no care in the game. Money has big role to focus on play because if you are not serious always lose money is result.

Man, it's like to ask: Why don't you play assassinms creed over prince of persia. Really, it's similar question. Everyone has different taste, for some people poker and blackjack is good, for others some arcades and etc. Everyone finds different thing for fun. Usually people gamble for getting profit but if anyone claims they gamble for fun, that's great if it's reality.Assassin’s creed and prince of Persia are both games that you can play for fun, however, if we are talking about gambling where you even lose money in the process and then calling it fun, I guess that is overrated. We should call a spade a spade, people gamble because they have the belief that they can get lucky and make some extra cash, we should leave the fun aspect aside.

you can also play online games and play gambling at the same time because there were also online games that enables you to bet a crypto or any types of payment or in game money and that is called e sports. there were many game in esports and most of them are the popular ones like dota , counter strike , cross fire ,etc . I really agree with OP there are so many gambling games where you don't use the actual money and since it barely for fun they can play those games, People may go in for the fun but in the end, it's going to be all about the money.

. For them involving money in a game is a higher level of satisfaction though, it does not really satisfy them because when they lose, it will make them irritated and will not want them to give up playing but continue on trying until they get addicted to it.and people not only addict to gambling they will addict to some online games for example Pool game etc, I only addicted to this game but after losing big points in a single game I stopped to play this game.
Online games are amazing and no risk at all but some people see this in a different way and some people even if they said that they gamble for fun they still want to earn some money which makes them more interested. We have our own ways to have fun just make sure you can affor to pay for its cost.
I have seen someone who told me before that taking risk is like a game to them.Funny enough this guy gambles for the fun of it, he is a rich business man, he applies his style of gambling into real life and he has never been addicted once.
It is funny though, but not everyone see it as such. Most people see gambling as a way to make more money and that is where the problem starts. When they now lose a lot, they try to be in the zone of gambling is fun, when truly they know that the idea of losing money is never fun.

Because there is not thrill and excitement in games. There is no gains. They may win but they gain nothing. But there are games where in winners get points or virtual coins as prizes but that’s just plain game stuff and they cannot exchange it into cash. So in gambling they are looking at it as a field for fishing. Fishing money. 
Because in the online game you just play games, where that makes you tense and afraid of losing just prestige. But in gambling, you are betting money and losing money is a risk when you lose. The way people have fun is different, there are enough people with online games, some are not. Everyone's hobbies are different so they have their own choices.

And where's the money aspect in that? Sure, online games played with friends or just random people are fun, but their purpose is completely different from the purpose of gambling. To give you an example, online gaming's main psychical aspect is rivalry and sense of accomplishment. You want to beat other people and feel that envy towards you, when others congratulate you or are angry because they can't handle the beating. You feel relaxed and happy, that's it. No real profit.
Gambling gives you similar sense of accomplishment, but it also fills your wallet.
Yeah you are right both give different levels of fun and pleasure,so we can't online gambling as an alternative for gambling.But most of the people doing gambling for money making so the fact is they need to risk their money if they want to multiply it.
Even when their pockets are empty, gamblers would still want to play and relive the thrill of betting. This is something that an online game cannot replicate because there is no risk of losing when you are playing an online game. You may die in the game and have another life but when you are gambling, you put something at risk and hope for it to either multiply or to lose it totally, or even worse, lose more than that. Gambling provides a sense of satisfaction once you win which may not be experienced in online games.
Yes, it's purely for the excitement aspect. The feeling you have when gambling it's not the same while playing online games. It's not even about necessity to earn money, because money could be made by playing online games and selling accounts/game's money/items later for real money. And those more addicted that try playing online games to forget gambling will have difficult to do this, because inside the online games gambling also exists. There are real big gambling industries inside online games moving thousands of dollars daily...
For me, online games are not at risk of losing money but just a waste of time.
Somehow, although gambling is very high risk, but i feel happy when playing.
I realize that so many people lose their money by gambling, but they don't want to stop, instead they become addicted and want to keep playing.

It's seems to be great idea.Now there are lot of free online games which is more interested then a gambling.For that you are no need to pay at all.So the gambling addict may choose this to play for their fun.You can use this online games to reduce the loss in gambling addiction.
