It's easy to undermine the efforts of the team because it's not reflecting in the price but let's not that some projects are scam outrightly.

I kinda noticed that people will just easily call a project scam without even researching about the project, their judgement is solely based on the price and does not consider that most altcoins are affected by the bear market. If they can't change their mentality, this would affect the reputation of the project, this is like destroying a project's reputation in bad times, instead of helping them.
Because it is become a trend already that if a project did not meet Their Promises it will turns a Scam right away for the investors and hunters.
Look how many projects comes to that end in 2018 and 2019 until now 2020 still promises is not been fulfilled.
there are few projects that i am following over the telegram and other social media site that they are still selling lies and that is why i believe why people is that easy to say that project is scam or still scamming.
You make a good point and this reminds me of the saying "once bitten twice shy". Those projects that sell lies are the reason why most investors and bounty hunters easily tag the newest project that didn't lift up to expectation as a scam project.

Absolutely agree, even Bitcoin and leading altcoins in this market are called scams if it is not profitable for investors. They only care about their profits and not the future of this market, when they lose money they will make bullshit and baseless accusations.

This shows the level of immaturity among people in the mainstream world. Most of them don't know how crypto works or how Blockchain technology could be beneficial for them. All they care is to fill their pockets with money. The moment they see prices going down the drain, will be such where they'll declare the project they're investing as a scam. It's important to always do your own research before making such claims. As long as a crypto project is able to deliver real use cases for the mainstream world, it'll survive for a very long time. Prices in terms of Fiat means nothing, as crypto was created to be largely independent from the world's monetary system.

If people would've focused more on using crypto for daily payments instead of a speculative instrument, things would've been a lot more different than what they are right now. Unfortunately, the lack of education in the crypto industry has led people to spread misinformation within the mainstream world. Bear market or bull market, what matters is mainstream adoption for any given crypto project. If that's missing, I don't see it going anywhere. Just my opinion Smiley

The most people on the cryptocurrency market are searching only for profit, so any projects do not meet their expectations are called scams as it is much easier than to admit your investment mistakes.

so far many people that I know of almost all new traders who still don't know too much about cryptocurrency they will do that when he can't get profits, so I'm not too surprised to see people like that because usually people like that will be told to keep me hold assets not to sell at low prices.

Bear market is not an excuse to justify how badly a project falls down. Yeah we know every cryptocurrency falls in bear market too but when it over, those cryptos rise back right away. Could that project do the same?

But how else to call a project that fraudulently attracts people to support and ultimately is not responsible for their words?
The problem is not that people cannot make money, but that projects initially expose themselves to be what they are not,
misleading people and giving them unjustified hopes.

Those people might have been fed up of all bounty projects that have been floating around in the crypto space. We cannot take away that kind of mentally since or maybe they always want to gain profit or they always think only those good projects a valuable or profitable projects. They must learn how to deal with bear situtations as they will always see projects bloody in read wether it is a good project or not. As far as I know as long as the projects has been listed, operating and producing their products and services it cannot be considered as scam, only those projects that are no longer functioning and right even in their ICO phase and had gone in the air are most probably scam projects

I noticed the utilization of scam and shitcoin sentence is so close. When the people try to buy a coin and the coin only have a downtrend market then they will also says that the coin is scam or the coin is being shitcoin. Moreover with the news project that most people tend using them as short term investment they will only sell the coin when they got profit. And I just thinking that new project that popping up right now will have more chance to become shitcoin, whatever the project is and its function for the industry of cryptocurrency they will say shitcoin at the end.

In fact, although this is entirely dependent on people's prejudices, it is also related to the events we experienced in the past. Especially in the period when the ICO frenzy was experienced, unsuccessful projects showed itself only during pricing, which was established as an evaluation method in people's minds. Yes, we can undoubtedly qualify the projects of teams that do not work at the ICO stage and afterwards as scam, but we cannot qualify a project that has an existing and hardworking team as a scam only because of its price. It is not an abnormal situation that many projects are not successful in terms of price, especially if it is considered that there are bad market conditions today. I think it is just a big fool to make a positive or negative criticism about that project without research, without looking at the work of the team and without knowing about the project.

It's only a bear market for scam projects too.
And even good projects because usually they dump when they are in exchange, only few of the project now are really profitable or able to keep their IEO value once live in an exchange.

Keep in mind non-scam projects such as Creditcoin which was invested in coinbase and y combniator has only been continuning to the rise,  regardless of the bear/bull status of Bitcoin.

legitamate products decoupled from bitcoin already

I'm not sure if this is the project you are talking about - https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/creditcoin/markets/

I saw the graph, its rising, but it's traded in Bittrex as per exchange written on the information.

Totally true. People just keep on saying that such existing projects are all scams even without taking or doing thorough research about that project. That is why people are having false allegations about all projects because they mostly hear that projects are scams which brings negative impression and reputation even to those legible and good project because people easily judge projects by looking at the price and not taking good look of the project itself. All of the cryptocurrencies in the market whether Bitcoin or Altcoins are all affected by the current situation we do have which makes the prices low. It doesn't mean that when the price is too low it can already be considered as a bad or poor project because we are into a world crisis right now which takes a negative effecf on cryptocurrencies as well as with the stock market. This types of allegations are misleading people that projects are bad and it is not good to see misjudging projects because of the price.

I can say negligence is the cause here, that is, it is the reason why most people are quick to call a project scam during bear market. Everyone knows that bear market respects no project, once it starts, all projects dance to its tone but yet at this, it doesn't mean a project team should be quiet or leave the community in the dark, it is a wrong thing to do; it is through this ways that people starts bearing grudges which leads to name callings etc. What am saying in essence is that, when a bear market starts, the project team shouldn't stop development and also they have to be active to answer to the community and in return the community will cast their unfailing support.

Scam and bear markets are two totally different subjects.
Calling out a project a scam is worthless until there really is a proof of the attempted scam. Not all members go negative against a project even during bear times. See Pundi X, even if it fell down badly and is just falling only, people still believe in the project because of the fact that the team behind the project is hardworking, they deliver their promises on (or sometimes even before) time. Their community on telegram is always active and I can say that their products are worth it.

Its also a reality that there are many scam projects in crypto market that has destroyed investor confidence. But OP is true in saying that many competitors also destroys a project reputation to knock him out of the market. Its recommended to DYOR before you made any conclusion about project reputation.

Most people call out projects as scam in the bear market mostly because the investment has gone wrong for them, which can be a little bad.
And is some situations, the projects are rightly called out to be scam.

The best that can be done as an investor is to have a trading strategy that works for you, that way losses or rekts can be minimal.

I think before you call any project scam out rightly then the project should have truly defrauded people or have the clear intentions of doing so.  A project that is not delivering in terms to its development cannot be called scam because there might actually be factors that are hindering the team from meeting their milestones. And the bear market might also be a factor that affects a project progress.
