Many gambling sites close their service all of the sudden after gaining good reputation and a top position in the rating. Most of the sites on closing used to state that they are into other development projects. If I'm not wrong, these site owners might think it a sin after years of successful running. Because, no site has given a clear information about the reason for closure starting from directbet.

They have already stated these reasons for selling their platform https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.21156790

Our reasons to sell:
We want to give our full dedication (e.g. time & money) to other projects than rollin.io;
Due to the other projects we have, we cannot afford to risk our current bankroll with high rollers;

So the main reason for complete closure is that they couldn't find any buyer for their casino  Grin
But they haven't scammed anyone while they were in business...

I do not know why but it seems that big site closing has always the same reason, 'need to focus on other projects'. And I do not really believe that, this is really profitable and why they suddenly close it? It must have some hidden reason on their closing

no hidden reason,just financial reasons,usually
sometimes they do have not enough time to focus on the site, maybe they run a mega successful site we don't know they own
so it only makes sense to make sure it recieves all the attention needed and the barely profitable site that takes up resources is sold or closed
which has happened with rollin.io
there is so much competition nowadays at the dice sites and casinos market,it is stacked so I'm not surprised at all-survival of the fittest

How can you know about their personal reason, if you said that their financial problem, then they do not suppose to keep on giving some giveaway or any event there. And btw I saw they always have whales there to play, and always wagered huge amount of bitcoin. So this has nothing to do with their site?

I am still waiting for some official statement from Rollin, it is good to know what happened here (hacker attack) but some clarification would be great.
Do people lose their deposits as a result of this attack? Will the site be ever back fully operational? Will it be sold, rebranded etc.?
Is the backdoor identified and fixed/patched? Should I be worried that my data - password/email has been compromised?

Nope.

You should see few post above you to understand that they have already released an official statement regarding the sale.
Even mod Loyce on Rollin quoted the reason.

I'm sure that Rollin.io will be back with a new owner (If not today, then soon). I don't think that this dice site with a pretty interface will just be left hanging or be deleted forever.
IMO, it still have a potential to gain more players if they'll focus more on marketing and advertising BUT, seriously it will be too hard considering competitors like pd already released a new site that offers more games.

don't think they will be back any time soon
not the same name and same site anyways, there were attempts to sell the site
but the price was too high, also it is usually much better to code and develop the site from scratch (for a buyer/owner with serious intentions)
and I think Loycev was right, there were dozens of accounts who would just sit there and faucet farm and they,Rollin, could not sustain it anymore
the numbers on the faucet went down and down, but it didn't help

I'm pretty sure they were making a nice income of 100,000$ / month.  if not more.
why they close ?
As we know they only have one game that is dice game, maybe they intend to open a new casino that has more game options or they are closed because they are getting enough profit and also they are afraid the dice game will can't compete with other games. did you lose fund  or something? just wait the official statement from Rollin.

I think he compared it to the Alexa rankings which can provide a general estimate how many unique visitors the site can get.

However when it comes to gambling it doesn't mean anything.
300k per month means 10k per day or 400 per hour. There's no way Rollin had anything close to 7 unique visitors per minute. Or maybe they somehow managed to count faucet farmers who use many unique IP-addresses in the industrial scale farming they did.

I see this number popping up several times after you mentioned it. Where did you get this number from?

For example, the sites with a faucet generally have huge amounts of visitors but their profitability is probably less due to the faucet abuse.

why they close ?

They ain't making that kind of money. Be realistic about it, not all 300,000 visitors would be losing all of their money. They are closing for a reason that no one wants to buy their casino. Maybe because they are tired of it, or maybe bankruptcy.

having 300,000 visitors doesn't mean they have 300,000 participants
and if the number of winner exceed the number of loosers then they will have a red signal, especially if some dudes made a high profit
and do not forget a hack or one of the team members running with a part of the fund?

- Before closing down site they have cut off their all promotions, lowered the pay rate for their signature campaign which shows they were having some financial problems.
- They even tried to sell their site but couldn't find buyer so ultimately they have to shut down their platform.
- They might also got afraid of getting into radar of local authorities, they closed site being happy with what they have already made with the site till now.

I agree, they likely ran into financial troubles and ultimately closed it down since they were operating in losses. Maybe someone won really big and that drained their funds and was not able to get back up again, who knows. They should probably create some sort of thread were they would clarify the reason so we all stop speculating what happened to them.

Just another wild speculation for me , in general bitcoin dice sites seems lost interest from users.
Also with the bitcoin volatile nowadays makes them struggle to make decision wheter they have to continue or just withdraw all the bitcoin profit they have with current nice rate.
It is just make me so pessimistic about bitcoin gambling business heading the future .

why they close ?

no,they surely were not making 100.000$ a month
and they had a couple of hacks prior to the closure
not sure if it was a hack or just a pretext to close the site but nevertheless, they closed shortly after
also there was a whale betting one bitcoin a pop and slowly draining their wallets
on the plus side, this proves they were legit and paid fair and square, also they didn't leave any outstanding debts
or scam accusations behind,it is just that the business didn't go as planned

I'm not a frequent lurker of gambling section and I just found out about this today. This made me think that nothing is permanent in this world especially in crypto. We can say that they are making profit out of their casino and yet, they still chose to sell their dice game and move one to their new project (I'm just basing this reason from the statement given by its representative here in Bitcointalk). Well, best of luck to their future endeavors.
