You must love both football and betting if you want to make a successful bet. The only hinder that I could see is if you become emotional with your bets.
There will always be a team that we prefer especially if our country is supporting one team. Football is a good example of being blinded by the bets that we will make because of the support that we are giving to them.
Now, it's all up to us if we want to stick with the team that our country is supporting or we are going for the spreads that was given to us. Just a few weeks/months ago there was a sudden change in the results of winners that was not expected by both gamblers and fans. I guess we have to learn with that.

Got to worry about someone asking you to give up something that causes no harm to them or anyone else.   Reduce time from outright obsession I understand that and not everyone loves sports but I'd never ask someone to give up something big like that if it makes them happy its the most important thing.    Of all the alternatives people get upto, most obviously drinking etc. watching sports is so simple and harmless.  I'd include a small bet in that personally though that may vary for some.   Sports betting is profitable as it all has a margin on there but I'd say it's one of the best efficient or least premium cost most of the time. 

Though it requires luck but sports betting gives us a bigger chance to win compared to card games and lotteries. Because if we are too familiar with the sports and the players, we have the advantage to choose the team that is very likely to win and put bets on them. Unlike in card games or lotteries that require more luck rather than skills which means that our chances to win are very slim. That is why I prefer to gamble in sports betting than other forms of gambling. It is not just wise but a good choice too...

Sports are a child's growing companion but not all children have the opportunity to play or watch sports from an early age. I am a sports loving person and since childhood I have been able to play and watch sports which has given me an extra passion for sports. I prefer sports tha casino games but I think people that are exposed to them loves it more.
