The best way to security is prior information, it helps to prepare you for what your up against. It's more easier to read that which is lodging at your face quite often than that which seems passive.
Having frequent posts on scam isn't really a bad idea with the fact that, scamming ng seems to be the order of the day, the trends of our time across almost every field especially within the cryptosphere. Coupled with the fact that, the scam schemes is often changing as they are being discovered. The need for awareness is very necessary to ensure the fears of newbies and amateur crypto investors never come to light as scammers constitute one of the main factor against the influx of investors in the cryptosphere.

I remember reading in meta board few topics asking the admin to add a board dedicated to such kind of threads (security, scams, phishing...) but their request didn't get approved.
Right now Beginners and Help is the most suitable boatd for theses treads as newbies are the main target of scammers and it's important to warn them about different scam schemes.

There is no benefit in reading about how to make profit if you don't know how to secure this profit and keep it safe in first place.

Scammers are everywhere, infact Fiat related Scams are more prominent than Crypto Scams. Why are we intentionally talking about Crypto Scam always in this thread, when we know it just a small fish in a big pond of Scams.

Just because fiat has a lot of scams, doesn't mean that we shouldn't talk about crypto scams. Crypto scams are a big part of this ecosystem, unfortunately. Take altcoins and ICOs, majority of them are scams. And ponzis, doublers and cloud mining still plague Bitcoin. Even if 95% of newbies will avoid the scams on their own, which is very optimistic to say, it's still worth it to warn the rest of them, so I personally don't mind the clutter that these scam warning create.

Some newbies are not aware that there is a particular board for scam accusations.
That's probably one reason or maybe that is the main reason why there are lots of topics here regarding scams.

For anyone who aren't aware of that board, here it is: Scam Accusations
It's a lot better to discuss your issues there.
Though I guess, it is fine to create topics here regarding scams.

Unfortunately, matters related to deception are not present here. They are everywhere, in every location, and in every forum that contains beginners. These people are new to the field they enter in and they have no experience. That is why fraudsters exploit them using many forms of fraud, the most important way. The temptation to speak and persuade as the impostor persuades the novice that he will pay him large sums in exchange for clicking on a specific link or downloading a specific application.
Greed and been ignorance are things that cannot be separated from a novice in this field, it's either they possess one or the both. What they failed to understand is, there is no free money on the internet and crypto space. It's either you invest or work for it.

It's simple.
A beginner lacks knowledge. Not all, but most.
So generally they are the type of people who might be easily fell into traps of fraudsters.
I see nothing wrong in posting things related to scams here. And I do not see "bunch" of topics about that.

There are new people who are introduced to bitcoins every day and scammer are always active to scam those who do not have proper knowledge about crypto currencies.
Even if we have a dedicated thread and section to educate people, there will still be people who will do mistakes and get scammed.

That's the reason we see so many issues reported in Scam accusation section of this forum.

Newbies doesn't read much about which board is appropriate to post such topic but posting such topic will also help spreading awareness of the said scam schemes and sites rather than being clueless about it. Yes newbies should post it on appropriate board and we can guide them.

Because most of the times, beginners are the victims of such scams. Since they are noob and have no idea about this environment, they get tricked in such scam method. That's why I too think such threads should be posted on this board to make awareness among all the people.

We do not have any other topic to share or talk about in this thread.
I believe you are talking about board. Thread and topic are the same thing while board is different.
Not only beginners who fall victim to fraud. Some people who have been in this forum for a long time have also been cheated by scammers. Because the fraudulent methods used by scammers today continue to grow so everyone must also be vigilant. Posts related to crypto fraud, how to avoid it and various other tips will be very useful. But there are only a few posts that are indeed relevant and have benefits. Other posts that are not useful will sink with time.

If I'm not mistaken, I remember someone already linked all of the topics related to Crypto scams here in Beginners & Help.

I can't find the original post, but on that topic, he listed all of the titles where you can read many types of scam that those criminals are using to fool and steal money from people.

I will update the link of the posts once I found it.

For me, the reason why there are a lot of crypto scam topics here is because it is a must be aware about the schemes and strategies that they are doing to lure people in many platforms that they are attacking. We just need to become vigilant when it comes to that because that's a big deal, it involves those money that we have worked hard for.

Are Newbies a bunch of retards that do not understand Scams?

OR

We do not have any other topic to share or talk about in this thread.

Scammers are everywhere, infact Fiat related Scams are more prominent than Crypto Scams. Why are we intentionally talking about Crypto Scam always in this thread, when we know it just a small fish in a big pond of Scams.

Those who regularly create topics in this thread, try to create topics which are Guides or tutorial related to cryptocurrencies or about this platform.

There are other threads that are regularly updating about scams and how to avoid them. I am not against scam related topics I am against portraying the newbies that cryptocurrency is all about scams.

The same topic written differently won't make any difference.

EDIT

My question to all of you after reading your replies:
  • Why will a begginer always want to read about a scam and not the benefits he can achieve being here?
  • Did anyone here create a topic about benefits of cryptocurrency? or we assumed they know about it?
  • We assumed they do not know about Scams or we are creating topics for Merits?

You have a very good point people can discuss here what and how to avoid scam but do not talk about specific subject if they do have an specific subject about a scam project then they can do so in the scam section but if guidelines and how to avoid them then this section is a good help not only for beginners but for old members like me as well.

- Why would they read about scams? Who wouldn't want to be warned and be saved from scammers? If I am not mistaken, there are only two boards where scam warnings are posted and I doubt beginners would only focus on those.
- Benefits like decentralized, censorship resistant, and can be sent across all borders are written all over the forum in the form of topics and comments.
- I don't know about merits but newbies don't know all about scams. From what I have seen recently, newbies are getting scammed first before they come and ask here. Check the examples below:
I haven't even mentioned the many newbies scammed or phished from downloading fake wallets on google play store or the fake web extensions.

I'm certain that there are many cases like that in the past years that is why you see a lot of scam alerts and avoiding scam guides posted today.

It seems you are only interested in promoting scams in cryptocurrency. How many times have you thought or tried promoting benefits of cryptocurrency. The impression that you are giving to newbies is that cryptocurrency is all about scameers and scam projects.
Me only interested in promoting scams? What kind of thinking is that?
Since when is posting scam warnings or guides to not be scammed became promoting scams?
You are trying to negate the fact that newbies fall victim to cryptocurrency scams and I gave you proof that it isn't the case.

Me giving the impression to newbies that cryptocurrencies is all about scams? You asked questions and I answered.
How about me giving the impression that scams do exist in crypto and newbies should be guided not to become a victim?
You are thinking negatively of the answers I gave.

I can't count how many times I've explained the benefits of cryptocurrencies and anything related to it both online and offline. I also mention to them the risks of phishing, $5 wrench attack, ponzi and other types of scams. It's better to tell them all and let them decide than just telling one side of the story.

New trooping in members first right click is the beginners and help board In knowing recent happenings about the crypto world, something bored would often happen if the beginners section is full of scam news and update when all of that could be ready in scam and accusation board, that's exactly what op trying to figure out and it's totally true.

I think the purpose for them posting topics about scams is to inform, to help, to warn and also to contribute to the forum and we can't hide the fact that the other purpose is to gain merits, you're right too we can't ignore that some of the threads are just reiterated from the past threads and some are identical but it actually helps someone. They definitely know the benefits of it otherwise they will not bother to know the crypto, but newbies might not know the scams lurking in this field so it's better to warn them about it. It may be useless to others but it may be useful to someone.

You own the pen
If it's about specific scam project then it should be posted in the scam section but if it is about tutorial guide about scamming then it's ok to post it here, in scam section there is a format here, you need to have subject to make your thread valid, or it will just be deleted.

Yeah right, if the method of the scammers is new to us, we should post it right away but let's not forget to use the search button in case someone has already posted it before us. But if now one has post it, we should post it to warn everyone about that new hacking method. Because it really useless when post it after someone became a victim of it. The only problem it'll cause is the other topics that contain tips and other good resourceful posts for the newbies are being buried with this scam topics. how about someone creates a thread then all of the scams will be posted there?

There are lies, damned lies and statistics. MTwain
<…> Beginners & Help - All primitive questions (to pros like us Cool) like "what are ASICS", "who is satoshi" and "what is mining" should stay here. <…>
The above quote is what is pointed as the intent of Beginners & Help. To be fair, the questioning spirit is less widespread on this board than the informative one, and lacking a steady flow of inquisitive threads, having a bunch of informative ones with content that is more appealing to beginners seems fitting.

Scams are, unfortunately, around us every day, and the more awareness and learned one becomes on the different types, the less likely he is to pull the tripwire on one himself. From that point of view, awareness is important, and Beginners & Help seems a good starting place for this type of information (despite there being a more in-depth board on the matter – though it’s not where a beginner would land really with ease on the forum).

There are of course many more topics that Beginners & Help could cover, of a gayer nature (read here as original meaning of the term gay), and some positive topics (as with a non-negative connotation) would help to counter the negative aura of scam related topics.

I’ve often wondered what the impression for a real Newbie is when he steps on the catwalk of Beginners & Help. Ideally, he should be able to assess what’s what, and calibre on his own what to look out for and how to safely enjoy the ride, being able to engage in Q&A sessions with cheek.

If you are a beginner into the forum what are the board you need to visit this is the Beginners & Help because you just need to have an assist and guide about your problem and questions about the platform you have right now.

It's better to ask other people than to be dumb and pretending that are known as those things.

Each member didn't know all about those scams so they want to become aware to help their selves and others too therefore they are posting those into thread In beginners & help also in Scam Accusations.
