Read news about crypto, blockchains, and other news related
This is where many users both beginners and a few ranked up users fail. No offense but, its what I experienced myself on a personal note sometime ago last year and I can say I'm doing my best in trying to change that.

News is what have been left in the hands of aged people and by that, I'm not limiting it to cryptos but then, how can you be in a trade and expect yourself to stay current on that trade if you don't read news?
Your so going to be second on updates should you cultivate this sort of character towards a trade and be left with the scraps when you should have had a lion share.

It pays to be current in crypto. It's one of the ways speculators stay ahead. Get a source of information and stay connected with changes as they occur.
My source at the moment is: Cointelegraph. There are others as well but, at least I can recommend this one for beginners.
Also, the forum is best source for updates. Read through the lines.

All you made mention of are useful tips for a newbie to grow on this platform but you did not make mention of this.
•Do not beg for merit from anyone•
If you deserve to be merited you'll get it if you are an active user of the platform and you've followed all the instructions stated above.

I would say it's OK that you want to rank up.

They can think of ranking up. I myself think of ranking up. The problem is that the only thing that interests those newbies in this forum is to rank up and make money. Therefore, they write crap, don't get merits and don't rank up. It isn't surprising is it?

Some beginners who come to this forum just like that. Just write nonsense without thinking about the topic being discussed so they won't get any merit from what they post. They also come only to make money without hard work, wanting to make fast money without contributing to this forum. the rise in rank also proves how qualified the beginners in this forum are.
Think up the rankings and give your best to this forum. Don't give away nonsense that just becomes leftover spam.

Ranking up has not being my major concerns on this forum.
I think its been months now already that all the newbies are asking how will I Rank Up

What do you need to focus on?

Focus on learning things you really don't know about
Familiarized what is going on with the forum, how everything works
Read Discussion from high-rank post
Learn something about the discussion
Read news about crypto, blockchains, and other news related
Ask something that you find really hard to understand

The more information you know the better

Why I'm saying this all in the list will help you without even asking the words like how to rank up?
One more thing don't get offended when someone corrects you, it does not mean they hate you
they are just saying facts and they do not mean to hurt your feelings.
When all of the above are met, things will go upward I'm sure.
I hope this might help a bit for newbies that are getting started

Learning and developing constantly has been helpful in this past few time I have spend on this forum and my general crypto knowledge has expanded greatly,
Well for someone who is only after here for knowledge and experience then I'd say ranking up, merit, and even rewards from signatures campaign are just a bonus. But for someone who has a goal of earning and learning at the same time then I'd say it really matter. As a newbie, you don't need to rush these things because as your adventure start in this forum you will acquire a lot of knowledge and experience that will help you to participate in every discussion and share your knowledge as well. And throughout your contributions, you will be rewarded merit for someone who appreciates your deeds and this merit will be a help for you to rank up.

Ranking up is best thing for people who aim to join on various signature campaigns here and mostly they are the one who struggle to reach the target since they always counts the possible merit they can get on each of their post. That's why as suggested it's better for newbie to focus on learning and enjoy the informations available here and there are so many ways to earn if they really eager for that matters, the one they need is to contribute so that all good things will follow.

For me, it's fine thinking about ranking up, but you know(for newbies), you will not rank up easily. In fact it is really hard to rank up here since you need to have merit to do so.
These merits can be sent to you by users who has sMerits left to them. You might get merit if you have helpful post, or you've been interesting, or funny to someone.
Nonetheless, if you're here to just learn, no need to rank up.
But ranking up means more opportunity here.

These are all good tips and will help new members.
The next step is of course to share your knowledge and experience with other forum members.
If you can help others, or give some new valuable information or added value to the forum, other members will recognize it and merits will come naturally.

Learning and understanding the crypto and blockchain space is the purpose of this forum to help newcomers who wants to start buying cryptocurrencies, not thinking about ranking up. The only thing that makes newcomers think about ranking up is when they discover that they can earn crypto by joining or participating in bounty and signature campaigns in this forum.

Thanks for the good advice mate, learning should be the priority in this forum and not rank up because that is worthy than ranking up, the rank that you may reach here will only be here but the knowledge and learnings that you may gain from being active from this forum could be used for so many things in your life. Learning cryptocurrency would be a great thing that we may have in this forum.

I have seen some higher ranks and some are same rank as mine but have higher merits than I am. I haven't seen one asking how to rank up instead I see them posting helpful contents that are getting rewarded with merit. Your point is good and learning is one of the ingredient needed to rank and be helpful by sharing what you have learned.

I don't agree with all these posts telling newbies what to do.
They aren't wrong, you are also correct. It depends on the perspective of each of us. Newbies should have their own goals. Sure, we cannot force them to learn or give specific contributions to the forum because each of them may have different goals. But by joining to this forum, is also a kind of contribution I think. At least, they don't do something bad.

The only thing you have to do is follow the rules of this forum and not be a shitposter.
Of course, this is a must.

You don't have to learn if you don't want to learn.
However, everyone should learn basic things about this forum. At least learn, what they should do and what they shouldn't do here.

I remember newbies complaining about the difficulty of ranking-up but the irony is, they are also the ones who mainly spams and post on bounties.

Like what I always mention to posts about ranking up, the more you think about it, the chances are that you will not be able to rank-up. I agree with the post of OP that you need to focus more on contributing actual knowledge, experience, and guides about any topic relevant to cryptocurrencies. In this way, you are developing your knowledge in general and, if, people find your post useful, you will be able to earn merits.

Again, do not chase for merits. Contribute something and merits will be the one chasing for you.

I don't agree with all these posts telling newbies what to do. This is a place for discussing Bitcoin, it's not a career or an education institution, no one owes anybody anything. The only thing you have to do is follow the rules of this forum and not be a shitposter. You don't have to learn if you don't want to learn. You don't need to force yourself to make some "well-researched useful" posts if you don't want to.

You can't the mindset of the people by that because in the first place the reason why they come here is "earn money" some of them don't want to waste of time to rank up they want to earn immediately a money this is the reason most of the new era of newbies directly toward hunting both campaigns because they are accepting lower rank but is there any assurance they get paid? It depends. Some members patiently waiting and on the phase of learning and earn merits it takes time to reach but there is progress and get rewarded if they join on signature campaigns. BUT depends on their posting quality.
Well I agree, some people come to this forum is none other than just want to get the money, so they don't think about the learning stage but they are so greedy with bounties that even new accounts are created immediately join the bounty so they may not be promoted even though some years later.

I only think that maybe 20% of people want to learn and improve the quality of their posts so this is the most featured I am sure with quality posts they will get merits according to what is posted.

Read Discussion from high-rank post
Does this mean those with low ranks posts don't contribute?
Yes, the lack experience but some or if not most contributes to forum

I fancy your point of view that it's not all about ranking up but also learning new things on the forum and also get a better understanding of it

The primary focus should be learning and everything else will follow. If newbies are here only for rank and making money then I am sorry to say they won't last long enough on this forum as they will commit some mistake and then they will get banned.

I have been learning different things in this forum after being part of it this forum for three years now. Still I feel there are many things I still need to learn from the senior ranking members.

Learning is the main and important ingredient for your goal, without it, there is no way you will be able to join the discussion, and ending up making reply maybe off-topic or not giving answers or information related to the discussion, inspire oneself to learn should prioritize with that knowledge more and more members will acknowledge you even without knowing, I always read interesting topic and post, if I think I don't know what they are talking I just search it and try to understand what it's all about.

You both say everything correctly, but most of the newcomers come here to earn money. And if you show them a time interval that is worth working on to subsequently receive some privileges, many are very upset.
The whole problem of such people is in a hurry. It takes time to understand and study something because many started like that. But if someone wants to "make money" and only, then they have a direct road to the bounty company. You and I understand that this is an unnecessary waste of time, but some are not. You've seen how many more "old" newcomers on the forum, with registration dates 2017-2018, have not received any merit, while OgNasty generously offers them.
And what does this mean? That people, in 3-4 years in pursuit of unnecessary tokens, have not learned how to sign messages.
What kind of education can we talk about for such characters? Smiley

I find this relevant, focusing on learning should be my core concentration and not ranking up although the ranking helps boosts ones enthusiast and inspires such to do more. Nevertheless having proper knowledge about what one does gives one an edge and helps such a person deliver quality posts worthy of merits.

Sure it does have a factor in one's enthusiasm and confidence in oneself. But it should not be the sole focus. If that's what someone will think about every time and then end up not getting it, it'll just cause frustration. So, I think it would be better if the focus will just be on yourself and in learning more. Your hunger for knowledge and your learning will reflect on your posts and someone out there will surely notice it. If your frozen rank bothers you, then take it as a challenge to do better but don't always think about your rank to the point that you're becoming desperate and end up committing something that'll break the rules such as plagiarism just so you could rank up.
