The primary focus should be learning and everything else will follow. If newbies are here only for rank and making money then I am sorry to say they won't last long enough on this forum as they will commit some mistake and then they will get banned.
I have been learning different things in this forum after being part of it this forum for three years now. Still I feel there are many things I still need to learn from the senior ranking members.

I find this relevant, focusing on learning should be my core concentration and not ranking up although the ranking helps boosts ones enthusiast and inspires such to do more. Nevertheless having proper knowledge about what one does gives one an edge and helps such a person deliver quality posts worthy of merits.
One more thing don't get offended when someone corrects you, it does not mean they hate you
they are just saying facts and they do not mean to hurt your feelings.
there are some here got offended by that but the truths hurt isn't it. If you are a newbie you should learn to accept mistake and that's normal. Problem now are they taught they already knew what is right or pride affects them. We should always look up the high rank cause they know already whats best for you. I've been corrected before and even now if someone got correct my wrong statement Ive accept it wholeheartedly regardless whether its lower rank than me. they are just saying facts and they do not mean to hurt your feelings.
-newbies- in the forum, who has reason that made them get curious And excited to join the forum, are the -Newbies- that posses the less problem from their initial level, but cases of -Newbies- with no and wrong reason of joining has after time corrected themselves and found the reason they should and the problem they had created they start to clean-up.
So I think honestly that every -Newbie- should have a good reason on the forum, they don't have to read every post -if they can its still awesome- but if they can't good, they keep-up with their good reason and I think they can evolve/rise into someone the forum can appreciate.

This is very important to know, discussions would also be more interesting if someone have a different opinion or will correct you, as long as its a constructive criticism, you should always welcome with that. As a newbie, there's a lot of things to learn, but the main purpose is to learn and to contribute what you learn, don't think of ranking up yet, it should not be the priority as time will come you'll rank up once people sees your contribution. 
Having passion for bitcoin and not lazy and more understanding of this forum will help new members.

Since I joined I have seen new members asking this question which means the question is common since the start of merit system. One more thing don't get offended when someone corrects you, it does not mean they hate you
Who listens to no correction is a fool, if someone in the game many years ago with ranked account correct newbie, accepting the correction is the best way to rank higher. It can be painful that ranked members are correcting you in 3 million members forum but you will first learn and you will correct newbies when you rank up. That is the is purpose of this forum, to learn and correct, to know more about how to protect yourself online, offline and keeping your cryptocurrencies safe.

Familiarized what is going on with the forum, how everything works
Read Discussion from high-rank post
Learn something about the discussion
Read news about crypto, blockchains, and other news related

Why I'm saying this all in the list will help you without even asking the words like how to rank up?
