We all are aware of bitcoin halving and most of the users are discussing about a possible bitcoin pump post halving which might or not not give pump to the value of altcoins. So do you think halving will provide openings for altcoins with a pump or altcoins will continue to be bearish in 2020?

Investors have learned their lesson, and it's a valuable lesson they will not pick just any coins in the market, in the hope that it will pump 100 times, we are over on this, they will pick coinc that has proven their potential even in the bear market.

100 times after this bearish market might be hard to achieve, and I am happy if people would think like that as they will be realistic and will more careful when investing. The problem will come when we think we think we can easily turn our money to x100 as we could be victims of scam easily, or the ponzi schemes, reaching at that level needs time for us to wait, it should be for a long term and when we talk of long term, this includes surviving even when the market is struggling to rise.

This is the year where bitcoin is halving already and lots of us are expecting that it would help bitcoin get pumped already and together with that, altcoins might be affected with it too, we just still don't know if it will give out a positive outcome or not. Knowing that halving would occur, there should be a higher probability of seeing the crypto market recover again. No matter what may happen, it would be best if we are going to set up a back up plan if ever things wouldn't go the way you want it to so that you can avoid possible casualties or atleast lessen the loss.

maybe. i don't remember anytime in the past that much bearish. and it is really not possible to predict how long it will go on like this. But maybe considering the halving, bear market may also be ended in 2020. i hope it will end

Again, that halving should hype the market, otherwise I don't see any possible reason why the market should be bullish again.

Well, there might be some big surprises that we don't know yet, so let's just wait and see.

We can't be so certain of what will happen this year, bullish people would say bitcoin will  have a new ATH while bearish will say bitcoin will drop to $1,000.
in the end, one of them is correct.

I agree. it is hard to predict anything. but staying positive and collecting as much as i can makes sense for me. because if market turns to uptrend, i dont want to be one of those crying why they didnt buy anything.

That cannot be denied, bearish market was raging against what was undergone last 2019. Nobody could predict the entire outcome, because the scenario of cryptocurrency was still unpredictable. Generally the expectations of halving is a good impressions, hopefully it will gain a positive results sooner.

I suspect that 2020 will come back to a more bullish feeling. We had this huge bear market, but in Ferbruary it bottomed out. Since then, with a bit of a crash, we have had a partial recovery, albeit relatively stable recently. Note that the last time a support line was checked we bounced back strongly. I believe that market trust is now slowly returning, and halving and ethereum two should also help to increase that trust.
This year, investor sentiment will be better because this is the year that is expected to be the best development year of the crypto market, but in order to do this, investors need to have faith in altcoins.

I think it will all be a matter of time and I am sure the market will start to rebound in February or March as this is a very good time for some coins to begin to grow.

It may be but if investors will gain interest again to make an investment because of halving it may cause a little pump in the market, it is really need to start up by someone to have an investment to make the price moves.

Where bitcoin leads, alts will follow. There is a lot of speculation that halving will lead to price increases, and an argument that halving has already been factored into the current prices. Whilst I agree that it may have already been priced in to an extent, the fact remains that this does mark a fundamental change to the availability of new coins, and should act as an ongoing price driver rather than simply a one-off event to factor in. With this in mind, I do believe that bitcoin price will increase following halving, irrespective of whether or not everyone already thinks it will happen.

3 consecutive years of bear market is not good for crypto, its enough that we already witnessed the most painful bear moments of 2018-2019, if bears still dominates 2020 then its time to say goodbye crypto world.
if the bear market still lasts for three years in a row then that would be the beginning of the collapse of the crypto and yeah it could be a say goodbye. but this is just the beginning of the year and I think the bear market will end soon in the year.
Halving is a period of consolidation to see the direction of reversal.

The only thing that occurred to me was not destruction, because there was still another year to see the major movements. we are still at the beginning of the first quarter, my assumption is that there will still be a decline in April due to the influence of annual expectations. But what followed was a reversal of direction accompanied by a series of positive developments.

Once bitcoin resume its bullish sentiment this year definitely major altcoins would also pumps I likened all the major altcoins as a sleeping giant waiting for a catalyst that would pump it up which is obviously bitcoin thus I foresee a replica of 2017 unfolds once bitcoin resume its bullish sentiment probably after the halving later in the year

You must be optimistic about future market price growth. It is unfortunate if you can leave crypto because the price has continued to decline in the last two years. people who believe in future market price growth, of course at this time or when the market price is still low, of course they can make good use of this moment to be able to invest more in it.

If altcoins did not appreciate this year then we have lose it. I thing bitcoin is going to influence some of them since most of them has been reacting to bitcoin bull. Coins like ethereum, litecoin, ripple and some few unpopular ones are going to follow bitcoin in its bull run which is going to start shortly.

I think 2020 will see a return to bullish sentiment across the market. We have been fighting price drops for a long time now, but each time we do bounce back some. Most important I think was the bitcoin recovery to back over $7k. This should help to increase confidence and to move us back into bull territory. Will we see new ATHs? Maybe for bitcoin, but probably not for alts as they have so much more ground to recover, but I do think we will see alt prices considerably higher than now.
2020 is going on and this is a very good opportunity for you to look for some new investment opportunities because I believe that this year the market will have many big changes and if you are considering investing, you should do right now. Personally, I'm only interested in Bitcoin at the moment because this is the only coin that makes me feel the safest.

Just like the recent year 2017 we just have to see if the money will go through the altcoins after bitcoin pumps because it offers such a higher opportunity to make our money doubled in the spot trading which is also a good thing than to risk on a big fluctuations when bitcoins price starts to pump.

Unlikely.

Firstly you got the bitcoin halving coming up, which has historically meant that markets are bullish for at least a year after the event. BTC being bullish will also drag the rest of the market up along with it, analogous to how a rising tide floats all boats.

Then you got the ETH hard fork, which could turn out to be a positive development. It's not guaranteed, but I do think that it could have potential to affect the entire alt market positively.

There are some positive moments in this year and it will surely help the altcoin to increase their prices because after Bitcoin halving it might take another three or four-month to increase the price of Bitcoin. ETH hard fork will also help the altcoin to increase their prices promptly.
