et rich or die tryi
It really depends...
If major retailers start accepting it like Dell did then im almost certain it will, the problem bitcoin has at the moment is that it is not the most easy to get into/use thing in the world and that will make mainstream adoption harder/slower.
I hope bitcoin does reach $1000 or above!

There is no doubt it will reach 1000 dollars, and it can go up maybe till 2000 or 3000 this year, maybe i am too optimistic, but in a few years, it is highly possible.

True, even a rise to $1000 would imply a ~70% return from current levels. Too good to be true for any asset class.  Grin

40% return if one year. Lower yield if longer.

FURring bitcoin up since 1762

With short spikes and drops in Bitcoin value happening on a daily basis do you see Bitcoin reaching its previous peak value and also do you see it exceeding this value by a considerable distance?

Well, no one really knows if that's going to happen. The Bitcoin price is simply determined by demand and supply. How much people are willing to pay for a Bitcoin and how much people want to have for one. But we've been here before, people thought 'that's it, it's never going to get that high again' and whooops, there came another bubble.

Will Bitcoin ever reach $1000 again?

How about we reach $700 first.  Feels like the spike back in early December was a "Black Unicorn" never to be seen again... Undecided

Despite the trickle of positive news and slow but gaining acceptance, the mainstream still doesn't know what Bitcoin is.  And the ones in power that do, are trying to regulate and hold it back.

Still waiting for the "spark" to happen, that domino effect, or most importantly network effect.  Part of me feels it can happen at any moment soon, another part of me thinks there's a possibility it may never come.

We are now having a calm before the storm lol.

Please Bitcoin.  Don't be the next Tamagotchi, Betamax, Prodigy, Compuserve, HD DVD, Zune, Friendster, Myspace, Palm Pilot, Sega Saturn, Garmin.

Need Bitcoin to be the answer, not just for my sake, but for so many people around the world.  Don't want another coin to take over Bitcoin's utility, as there's enough problems explaining all the Alt and crapcoins in existences.  If another coin takes over, it should be an improvement on the original, and be rightfully called Bitcoin 2.0.

If some altcoins come up with a brilliant idea and the feature works great, bitcoin could adopt it and make it even better. Smiley

Trust me!
Yes i hope before next year  Roll Eyes

Do you have some leveraged long position or why would Bitcoin reach that target before that very day? Cheesy I'd be pleased if it did, as well, but I guess we may have to wait a tad more before reaching that mark again. No one knows. Prepare for a non-perfect outcome.

I prefer Zakir over Muhammed when mentioning me!
I think it'll go over $1000 again.  But something will probably replace it because bitcoin is too slow for actual real world transfers.

This is an interesting debate. I have wondered if there is another coin right now which could replace Bitcoin due to slow confirmations. Honestly though, Bitcoin is the only coin that I see getting real support and traction in the industry in terms of atms, and actual large companies accepting it like Expedia for travel, etc. Are there other coins that people see getting powerful industry support?

Bitcoin is the topmost coin, in considering everything except transaction time but I think its natural. Litecoin is coming somewhat near. It isn't accepted in large companies but is accepting by medium companies which may change in future. I still don't think it can replace BTC but can be nearer or equal to BTC.

Kindly,

I am pretty confident that bitcoin price will touch $1000 again this year (we have 5 more months), but that $1000 mark will be a big resistance and the price will likely be under big pressure after touching it.

Yes, there is the psychology behind it. Many of those who bought in late 2013 and early 2014 at $1,000-$1,200 will see that the price has risen back to four digits, feel relieved, and sell.

I believe that these kinds of people who are prone to panic-buying might actually buy more at that price, since they might think that their coins are finally in a rocket to be worth 10000$. Or they have panic-sold already.

When the price will hit 1000$ again it will probably not be a good time to sell because we are likely to go way higher

There is a big ass invisible buy wall by everyone that missed the boat. Big FIAT holders are wanting to get on the BTC game and get a juicy position before we reach mainstream adoption. Im almost 100% sure a lot of people is keeping it as silent as possible for they to have a good place to enter cheap before things kick off.

You mean those wall street traders and investment funds? Cheesy

No doubt in everyone mind it will bit 1000 again.

The question remain unclear is how high will bitcoin go.

The question is when...
If it reaches $1000 in 2140, it wouldn't benefit anybody,  Grin
