I fear the day when multiple countries are going to take Bitcoin down. Bitcoin is already used a lot in criminal activities.

Before Satoshi thought of developing a system which will provide a peer to peer decentralized ecosystem, criminal activities existed and people already had they way of making transactions without getting caught. You can't tell me that Bitcoin is behind the existence of criminal activities. It is quite useless to think that Bitcoin can be taking down. Bitcoin is here to stay..

No, i don't think it will get banned entirely coz there are countries who already adapt bitcoin and they even make it as a payment in some stores. One example is JAPAN, their Government is very smart coz they know that Bitcoin and the whole cryptocurrency can actually help in terms of economy. I wish our country would see crypto like that but nah our banks are threaten.

This crypto journey is not 2 or 3 years old but has long been running. So the industry experienced very rapid development. Although controversial, until some countries have banned Bitcoin. But there are still many countries that accept Bitcoin, although there are some rules that should not be done. As my people, Bitcoin is still accessible and many people make a profit. But Bitcoin should not be a means of payment as a substitute for local currency.

The global banning that I think is not going to happen.

Bitcoin, the crypto currency, has become huge in popularity over the recent years.

One of the main features i like about bitcoins is its transactions are anonymous. But that makes me wonder if a time will come when it will be banned worlwide. It has started in many countries.

Try to think positively that Bitcoin will not be banned, but many countries will develop this industry. The positive impact that Bitcoin provides is enormous, as many people start to get rich, many people are now no longer idle, and many people have the convenience of having transactions using Bitcoin.

This kind of thing underlies me to think positively about Bitcoin. Even my country started reviewing Bitcoin.

Bitcoin has brought revolutionary change to our contemporary world although some governments are not in support with its idea, there are other governments fully supporting Bitcoin. Bitcoin cannot be stopped on a worldwide basis because even some of these governments and other prominent leaders of various countries hold some Bitcoin in disguise.
Yes. They might secretly holding their own bitcoins because they already know it's worth before it has become even more popular. A single country might banned bitcoin but this will not be completely banned especially now it's becoming very famous not just as a virtual currency but as a very potential investment. People will surely be wanting bitcoin as much as other people are craving bitcoin for their own.

Banning bitcoin is completely impossible. A country may ban the usage of bitcoin, but the can never ban the coin itself. Look at those torrent sites were pirated and cracked versions of software, music, videos, movies etc are found. They still exists and the world couldn't even ban torrenting even though the tried hard and is still trying. Thats the same case with crypto currencies. Even if the government tries to ban bitcoin, they won't succeed. Again, countries that have completely banned bitcoin are the once that are corrupted and underdeveloped.

I have no doubts that if a huge economic crisis happens then many countries will begin to ban cryptocurrencies, gold and any other medium other than their fiat currencies you could use to transfer value from one person to another, but such attempts will fail as people will see that those governments are not trying to improve their economic situation but instead are trying to maintain the facade of a working economy, but as long as a few countries remain where you can still use and trade your bitcoin then such policies will be useless.

Bitcoin cannot be banned worldwide, because it is a global innovation, there may be FUD about some top country trying to ban bitcoin  but Bitcoin is unbannable because it relies on node decentralization

Those countries that ban bitcoin in their county can take their country out of bitcoin, but can’t take bitcoin out of their ountry., bitcoin is here to stay,  there won't be any time to complete come for the worldwide banning of bitcoin,

Even if government banned Bitcoin in their countries still people in crypto will find ways on how to still transact and progress crypto currencies

And just like what the first posters said “If this will be banned then surely it happened in past “but since they cannot really banned this or maybe even presidents or politics from some countries are already investors of crypt non lol,who shoukd know?ofcourse none

Like in other countries like Japan that supports crypto for long time now,one of the most advance and progressive country in the world

Bitcoin has more good features than bad, but countries that were against cryptocurrency used to indicate the bad and go for a ban. This has been changing slowly as more and more committees formed on different countries to determine the need for Cryptocurrency has been giving positive signs. Today India too has understood the importance and the committee has praised and usage of cryptocurrency. This means there is more chances for legalization, and it is sure more countries will legalize and worldwide ban is impossible.

There are some countries also which have legalized the bitcoin transaction. And one thing I have noticed that the country having unsteady  Gov are more likely to ban the bitcoin. Because, they have less faith on their citizen and bitcoin becomes threat to the Gov.

Not yet, many country have adopt bitcoin ad payment transaction and company want to join with bitcoin ad purchase payment. Have great future of bitcoin.
There are countries that ban bitcoin and there are also countries that accepts bitcoin, the good thing is that there are more countries who are accepting bitcoin compared to countries who ban it.

We can see some list here https://www.investopedia.com/articles/forex/041515/countries-where-bitcoin-legal-illegal.asp.

I believe those countries who have not regulate bitcoin yet will turn positive in the future, because bitcoin and crypto as a whole is unstoppable when major adoption is taking place and it's the right of the people to use what they believe is helpful or an improvement and the government has to regulate it.

my answer is a big no, why?
simply because the government is already too late to stop it, banks worldwide is already putting atm's
and also the government is discussing it in the congress , and what they are doing?
they are trying to control some of it, which means they can't stop it, and now they are going to legalized
bitcoin, but they will put something just to make a grasp of it, because bitcoin can be use by criminals but to banned it
I don't think they have to full power to do that, its decentralized

currently many exchanges in several countries treat bitcoin as a digital asset not as a currency. so that in some countries the use of bitcoin is not prohibited. although its use and distribution is limited, it does not prevent users from being able to own it. the issue which must be considered now is not the prohibition but the cryptocurrencies dominance against digital currencies which is currently being developed by national banks in each country.
I think this is clear enough. some countries do prohibit the use of bitcoin, but that is only limited to use as a currency. however, as a digital asset, investment, or business-related thing, I think until now, it is still supported. some countries even have taxes on crypto transactions, which means they have accepted the development of cryptocurrency. because of that, I don't feel that bitcoin will be banned all over the world.

The only way in which Bitcoin can be "banned" is if a global ban is implemented by the United Nations. And it is still probable that some of the UN members will refuse to comply with the ban. Such a global ban would mean that possession of the cryptocurrency and running of nodes is illegal. But even if the UN goes ahead with a ban, and in case all the member nations support it, destroying Bitcoin is going to take a lot of time and resources. They can seize the mining farms and conduct a 51% attack, but it may turn out to be counterproductive.

bitcoin from the beginning appeared never to get support from the world or the government,
bitcoin developed until now purely because of the wishes of the people,
so even though the government bans, as long as the internet is still there bitcoin will continue to grow, I'm very sure of that. because bitcoin is independent and decentralized.

Countries in which there is no democracy and is complete control of all branches of power reigns will prohibit Bitcoin. Bitcoin is a way to rid people of government control. However, I hope that civilized and democratic countries, on the contrary, will support digital currencies and will not prohibit them.

those civilised and democratic countries will be open to this new technology as they are not close-minded institutions that will prohibit the advancement of technology. so i dont think the question of the op is still relevant today. slowly, those countries which are hesitant with crypto or bitcoin are now siding with crypto as they understand the immense benefits it will bring to business operations, saving tons of money of ordinary people!
