Bitcoin can not replace gold, bitcoin and gold are similar, can be used for trading. But Bitcoin is not currently the mainstream currency, and gold is a recognized currency in the world. Bitcoin still has a long way to go. Smiley

I believe bitcoin won't replace gold. Because, bitcoin is not always recognized through the wider neighborhood. While gold can be recognized by the community.
Many people seeks bitcoin than gold because it is easy to find and earn from bitcoin rather than gold. But still gold will not replace by bitcoin because there is use of gold that bitcoin has not. Bitcoin and gold has different characteristics and functions that cannot be raplace by each other.

gold will remain gold. this is clearly different because gold and Bitcoin have significant differences. gold has existed from thousands of years ago served as a valuable item, while bitcoin appears not yet even 10 years old and we also still see its development. for me gold is great for those who want long-term investments and Bitcoin is a way to invest in the short term. so gold can not replace Bitcoin and Bitcoin will never replace gold.

Because gold is gold always. Bitcoin is bitcoin and it will stay as digital asset. It's not the competitor of old, so there is no problem by our side if bitcoin lose against gold. We see bitcoin as a different millenium digital asset honestly.

Some people try to say bitcoin is much better than gold. This is not a must for bitcoin.

I don't think bitcoin will replace gold.  Gold to many people are a physical precious metal that you can hold, melt, and make things out of the metal.  Bitcoin is a technology that uses a blockchain and uses miners to record transactions.  I think one or the other will not replace each other but they can both exist at the same time.

Gold in general is no better. The value of gold is nothing more than a result of a global consensus - at the moment everyone agrees to consider gold a measure of value, simply because this measure is in some form or another necessary. If we assume a utopian situation, that tomorrow everyone agrees that gold is not such a measure, then it will be good only for the production of quality wires and trinkets.
The btc is gaining momentum for exactly the same reason - the global consensus towards the btc is constantly being strengthened. In this case, unlike gold, the cue-ball is not only a measure of value, but also a settlement system, and gold is not a competitor for this parameter.

Definitely nothing can replace gold, its one of the most essential element we have on earth. Its value is always valuable and it has a lot of functions. Gold's fundamental is strong, firm, and are always stable. Even if you ask random people to choose which can they prefer to possess, I'll say 90% of them will choose gold. Also, this isnt a good comparison coz they both have different characteristics and function. Btc is a cryptocurrency that can be used to several transactions, it could be used as payment, investment, or a bet in gambling. While gold can be what the BTC's main function, but what separates gold from being essential than btc is, it can be used as a jewelry, equipments, and etc. Let alone their very existence is very different. Btc is digital while Gold is tangible. Dont be so overwhelmed by the value of cryptocurrencies today for we all know its not as stable as gold. Btc was created in what, less than 10 yrs. and took time to gain its popularity.

Bitcoin can not replace gold. Gold is acceptable all over the world. However, Bitcoin is still under development. Gold can be used in various fields and gold is scarce. So bitcoin can not replace gold. Smiley

Bitcoin can rise in price till tens thousands dollars till 2020, since it will partly begin to act as a protective asset, which now belongs to gold. Investors consider bitcoin as a substitute for gold, and fact that the number of available bitcoins is limited makes currency more attractive to investors. So everything is possible.

In all honesty this is worldwide consensus, gold can't stand this competition. But they both have their unique role. Gold is a precious gold, bitcoin is the father of all coins. It's just a lil more time for bitcoin to explode. We all are waiting.

It's unfair to compare gold to bitcoins since both have their own purpose other than having high worth of value (of course, bitcoin's value fluctuates, but still!)

I think that Bitcoin will become second gold. The first one except of beeing part of our culture is rare, hard to mine/extract metal so it will be precious probably forever. Bitcoin is still growing. I think in next couple of years it will be much more valuable than is now. Also more popular and stable.

Bitcoin and Gold works in different ways but both behave like a monetary asset, what makes gold still special than the bitcoin is that it is comes out first as an investment and it was old as our planet not like the bitcoin and other coins which were pure a product of technology. We are in the age of rapid development in technology so I believe there will be a point in time that bitcoin or cryptos will become precious more than the gold itself.

I think it already has. Well to me at least it has. I use Bitcoin as investing and for when I want to withdraw to Fiat so it's like a bank and that is what it is designed for.

Bitcoin is something precious like gold. I’d u hold gold its value will raise up  same if u hold bitcoin  it will raise up. But I don’t think bitcoin replace gold . because gold is tengieable . touchable asset.but bitcoin is invisible asset . so visible asset is much important than crypto currency.

That sort of thing will never happen. Precious metal won't be substituted with bitcoin from its functional side. bitcoin can probably be said higher than precious metal, bitcoin can be equalized with gemstone.

Bitcoin will replace gold in the future but it can't really go away because gold is a nice looking stone that everyone loves so i think that it will have the same value for a long time. but bitcoin will go even further beyond.

Bitcoin is maybe online but gold is beautiful and it looks so sick in your vault if you have one of course. With bitcoin you can't show people how much money you have.

So on topic. I think that bitcoin will not replace gold some people just find the look of the gold nice.

I don't think so. Gold has still a place in this world and it will not yet be obsolete. But in the future I think it would be, however gold still has a use for electronics and stuff. maybe that would be the future. Gold will no longer be something that holds value but more of it would be just a raw material for production.
