It wasn't at that level for too long, the peak seems like 176 bucks but it was reached and gone down very quickly. The difference is that it dropped 87% and most other stuff didn't went low that much. Just to give some examples, BTC is down 57% right now, ETH is down 62% or so, BNB is down 54%. That shows you that ETC has gone down a lot more than all the others, there are a few that dropped as much as ETC for sure but its not really that much of a big deal for them neither, they are going down and risky.

So, I would say that the best thing would be to go with the other three, instead of buying ETC and hope that it would break its ATH again.

For something that had multiple 51% attacks where it was basically cracked or hacked or whatever you want to call, it is a great feeling that it is still going on. There are people who ask will BTC be 1 million dollars as well, so there is nothing wrong with not reaching 200 bucks or so, the important thing here is that ETC still managed to survive after getting that many problems.

The fact that ETH will go towards 2.0 means that ETC could be getting some of that hash, and the fact that ETH 2.0 will make people mine it, makes it a lot more popular even right now, people are investing into it so that they could sell when that happens.

Maybe to reach $50 or $60 yes it can happen in the next one or two years but to reach the price of $100 it may still take a few years later because right now the price of ETC is still around $23 which is still very far from the price of $100.

Last time it took 4 months to go from $7 to $140

Maybe to reach $50 or $60 yes it can happen in the next one or two years but to reach the price of $100 it may still take a few years later because right now the price of ETC is still around $23 which is still very far from the price of $100.

I think the only chance ETC has of increasing in price at this point is if the ETH2 merge fails or worse. ETC is a dead chain and is now technically obsoleted by newer chains like NEAR and CNDL. The chain has been repeatedly 51% attacked and for all intensive purposes, has failed and is not economically secure.

yes you are right this is an old thread but I think this topic is very interesting to discuss and discuss now, I think ethereum classic has very high potential and is suitable as a long-term investment, the proof is from 2018 until now this coin is still surviving and is ranked #29 CMC, I am very optimistic that ETC will reach $100-$200 in the next few years.

although ethereum classic has a good chance of hitting $100-$200, I don't think it will happen later this year, because apart from the market being in a critical state, this coin also has to make a breakthrough by attracting more investors and users to get full support.

wait another 4-5 years, lol.

I think ethereum classic is one of the altcoins that has great potential in the future and this coin has a great chance to reach $100-$200, but I don't think it will happen by the end of this year because the time is too short, especially in the current crypto market is currently experiencing bearish and there are no signs of an increase in the near future.

I think etc allows to earn a small return in the very near short term, bit is a terrible coin for long term investing. $70 is maximal price be next year.

You do know that they are actually not new investors? Most of the times, it is the same person who is sending his coins/tokens to and from various addresses. Just so that the price goes up. You can't just say the price would go to 70-100$. There should be really thinking, and thought analyzing. Chances are, the price would go up, because no one ever thought gas would go to around 90-100$ when the bullish season was on. So same goes for ETC, if we have a good enough bullish trend, the prices can go up real nice, but if we just fluctuate around the same price, then no, the price won't go to that big of an amount.

I think it is very difficult to realize .. even when the market is the best, he could not give his expectation. Investing in ETC requires patience.

i think its possible, but i have better predict then your, i think blockchain and crypto currency is future, and after october price will fly up, my predict about ethereum is 5-7 k $ per ETH, (dec 2018).

but nothing is impossible. we can see togather

100 - 200$ ? its so bad predict , i think price will be 2-3 k minimum, some people think price about 15 k $. i think ethereum is the best coin now.

I can not see why would it increase so sharply, even if the market is performing well.

I think it's possible for it to hit $100 this year because on a normal stable market early this year we saw it on the $40 track. So if we have a bullish market at the end of the year we might see ETC hitting $100.
