I see a lot of ICO's finishing before November end, I would bet that not so many Ico's would be starting again til late Jan to early Feb. Most people would be with there family over holiday and new year and be spending on presents etc. big money goes away for at least a month over holidays.

All the regulatory fuss around ICOs will affect them much more than holidays. But yeah, the crypto world settles down when people move away from it for any reason.

I don't think the holiday season will affect the ICO's, work is work and money is money. There are no in betweens if you want to make your project successful and investors would think the developers are really working hard for the project to be a success.
That is exactly why holidays could impact investment markets though. If a lot of investors go on holiday it could mean less money flowing into investments and it could also mean more money flowing out of assets (to pay for holidays).
Don't really have any data about these scenarios though, so I don't know for sure what normally happens.

Founders - would love to hear your thought on your launch strategy.

Experts - would love to hear what you think about investing during the holiday seasons.

There seems to be less and less ICO come holiday season - also seems like there's going to be an explosion after the new year.

Seems like a steal to invest during that time if nobody else is - depending on how good the ICO concept is of course.

Well if the ICO is really that good then definitely regardless of what season it is, people will flock and pour on their cash. And when you look at the historical logs from last year, Yes, there are still ICO that offered eventhough its close to Christmas holiday. So I'm expecting that nothing will chance for this year. Other companies will put up and try to get as much money they can get with the investors. Of course people will save and be ready for this holidays, but they do think that they need some extra cash in the future that's why they will continue to invest no matter what.

it depends on the plan they have set up in a treaty or something. because they work as a team, I think they will also decide whether they will take a vacation or not. if they decide on holiday, of course it will be influential because they leave their ICO busy to go on holiday.

Well that's right that there's no significant reasons for the ICO to be affected with any holiday seasons to come. This was due to people nowadays were more pursuant to their specific work at online jobs like this. They take more time as precious and don't care whatever day is that, but the most important thing is money to provide a lot of finances for them.

Yes, holiday season will affect ICOs.

The whole crypto-currencies volume is down during the holidays, not only ICOs.
Time to avoid having crowdsale - Mid November till the End of January. Because people will save their money for Black Friday and Christmas and January is worst month of the year from financing point. Wait for the Feb salaries.

Thanks @mmysterious. That's great to hear from a founder.

What about potential investors? Do you save up the cash to give to love ones or invest in ICOs that can go...boom! I guess this is more of an ethical question.
No fix answer on this kind of question since people do have different minds. Some are risk takers some are safe players on which decisions would really depend on a certain person. Holiday season doesnt exist on this ICO world and for sure those dev or owners wont really have the vacation day regarding on their crowfunding since we are talking about money on here.

Just did some digging as suggested.

Definitely see a trend.

Trading dips at the beginning of November (1-7), then it climbs up again - by a lot!

Thanks again for all the feedback ladies/gents

Hmm looks like an interesting trend. Might be worth putting some money on

People ask for bitcoins as a christmas present or people spend christmas gift on cryptocurrency. Both are a good scenario

Did you ever take a look at daily trading volumes for Bitcoin? Notice how there has been no break? Unlike forex or any other market there simply is no holiday for Bitcoin. In fact, some of the biggest price moves takes place on Sunday. Even last Christmas we saw good price movement (within small range) even if the volume saw also a small drop off.

ICO wise, a lot of holiday offers and bonuses. But watch out, also scams!

Go look at historic chart of btc/crypto prices and volumes. You will see what is coming Smiley
Some things might change but human behavior during holidays does not.

Honestly...I don't know what to make of it because this year is quite historically unconventional. Ethereum itself is nearly 300x from where it was last year in addition to the many ICOs in play.

I agree with the other responses though, we'll just have to wait and see...we are in a completely new world now.

Holiday season is a big effect to the ICO's, why?

Because most of the people on that season are quite elegant and they've got more money coming from their day job bonuses, 13th month to be specific.

And for generous companies they are rewarding their hardworking employees and if that employee is in bitcoin or alt coin trading, he'll invest that bonus.

The holiday season is the most opportunity for the people to have money to purchase and to invest so i say this will be favorable to all ICO's to launch on this date with promos and discount to attract investors and businessmen. Lets just wait and see as the holiday season is coming in which we will have the opportunity to see for ourselves but i strongly believed ICO will be more prosper during these days.

Yes, it is going to have effect on them and even the prices of tokens in the market, most people will need money for this period and we all know this time you only spend and make little back on holidays

I've never thought about this too much but it seems the holidays are a slightly more risky time to launch. The holidays are a time suck and without doing proper research investing is a bad idea. But it is the time of giving so who knows...
