You need to clarify your question.

If you are asking will Satochi have assets valued at an amount that is greater then anyone else on Earth, then quite possibly. The value of BTC would only need to appreciate ~100x from where it is now for that to happen. That would not be unreasonable when comparing the market cap of Bitcoin to other stores of value (the dollar, Euro, other currencies, Gold, Diamonds).

If you are asking if Satochi will have the most purchasing power with his assets (Bitcoin) then the answer is almost certainly no. If Satochi were to attempt to spend any substantial portion of his Bitcoin then the price of Bitcoin would likely subsequently fall substantially. Granted it is not known which addresses are controlled by Satochi exactly, so if he were to spend a few hundred Bitcoins (4-8 50 BTC mined blocks worth) then it would be reasonable to believe that the selling was being done by another early adopter. However if he were to sell several thousand coins for goods/services/property/fiat then it would be obvious that it was Satochi doing the selling.

Thing is, he might become the first trillionaire too.

Let's not forget that a single family controls a little over 50% of global wealth.

What?! Which family and how the?!

P.s. It's no secret.

What is the point of tossing out some numbers without presenting any justification?

I don't care if the numbers are optimistic, or not, they have no value whatsoever.

Well u are kinda right. For the starters i would love to see that actuall 1m bitcoins. And how people know its his.

50k dollars per bitcoin is still a long road, but we are not so far, if the trend continues we will be there in 2016.
Only a couple of years for Satoshi to be the richest  Smiley

Satoshi was a billionaire once - when Bitcoin reached $1200 back in November 2013. He has 1 million coins so that would have made him worth about $1.2 billion.

The richest man on Earth is Bill Gates who has around $50 billion last time I checked.

So if BTC reaches over ~$50,000 a coin then he will be the richest man in the world.

We cannot be 100% certain that he has that many still in his/her/their possession... And 50k is QUITE A BIG STEP AWAY. Shocked

It's two, max. three years away.

No way will bitcoin be at 50k in 3 years.. I can safely say that
never know, think if user base is 100m+ people..

if based on 1m bitcoins, means he/they are worth half billion right now.

Will Satoshi Nakamoto ever become the world's richest person? Huh

whats going to happen?

The first thing u need to know in this respect is what is the wealth of the current richest person on the globe.

GOOD LUCK on finding out the networth of the Rothschilds.

That would be sick awesome if an anonymous person became the richest person on earth.

hah, u open forbes list and at first place , dark silhouette of "Satoshi Nakimoto" that would look so cool Cheesy .

But not so likely to happen, even if he become like richest , there are probably some other anonymous people that are richer.
Who knows...

Tobacco industry, pharmaceutical industry and "researchers".

1) Satoshi is still alive
2) He most likely has control over those coins still (he invented bitcoin with damn near perfect, do you really think he'd be so careless to lose his private keys?)
3) He won't move those coins until bitcoin is super-main stream. Reason: If he started to move ANY of them now, everyone would know he has access to them, speculation of a bitcoin dump would began and people would sell bitcoin and drive the price back down to sub $10/coin maybe $1 per coin, thereby hurting his personal unrealized wealth and the future of bitcoin.
4) What will he do with the coins? Hopefully donate some, use some to fund needed bitcoin projects or lobbying, build infrastructure and keep some for himself.

LOL , are that facts ?
U know all that by talking to him or what ?

The richest person on earth is the one who has nothing, yet is content.

The wisest person is the one who knows that he knows nothing ?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pLlwpZQrQUU

~ Conspiracy theory and conspiracy fact.

But the question then is is he content? I hope so.

According to Gavin, Satoshi was pretty sloppy, when it came to programming. (I never looked into the code, but you would see that there).
So he is far from perfect.
I am saying this, with all respect to Satoshi, but he is just not that god-like person, a lot of people illustrates him

Since when do you have to be perfect to be a god? He's given his god-like status by people who worship him or his idea. I think you can be a genius or have a genius idea but not be 'perfect' (after all, no one is).
