The idea that Satoshi, in 20 years, could potentially be the richest man in the world, and still have his identity concealed, would make for an awesome novel. You come imagine the "Forbes Richest People" list, with a dark silhouette for the #1 spot.

Hahahaa... That would be quite awesome. Cheesy
Maybe Satoshi is a Zodiac, he was never been found Cheesy . Not many people i the world succeeded at that.

No need to wait 20 years, I'm sure there are already people like this. The riches people are not in fobres really. Like you said the richest people are with a dark silhouette and no one knows them publicly. I have no idea who they are but  maybe something like a group of 100 illuminati  people that own trillions around the world and control big part of all worlds economy or something like that Tongue  It's just rumors your choice to believe this or not to but It sounds pretty logically for me Cheesy

Well i dont think somebody with only a pseudonym "Satoshi Nakimoto" can get on the forbes list Smiley . Especially when his wealth is not in fiat or asets, its in Bitcoin, unless he decide to sold them all for fiat that is Cheesy LOL .

if based on 1m bitcoins, means he/they are worth half billion right now.

Will Satoshi Nakamoto ever become the world's richest person? Huh

whats going to happen?

I sure hope not. He once said on the forums something to the effect of "lost coins are a donation to everyone else" so I'm hoping that he considers those coins lost and won't ever tap them.

I do too, but not sure whether he considers his lost.

No he won't considering decentralized structure of the whole system he builded. It won't allow him to climp on the top of the pyramid beacasue the pyramid doesn't even exist.

If I was Satoshi, I would never publicize myself and will stay out of the limelight. At today's exchange rates, Satoshi's stash is worth around $625 million. In case if Satoshi comes out in the public, then he will have to deal with all the tax-related formalities. Also, there is the problem with hackers and wallet thieves. (All this, if he is still alive).

The US would be the country who would lose the most, if bitcoin were to take the place of the dollar, at least for international trade, but you think this is all a conspiracy by the NSA.

I think you do overestimate them.

I think some people do that, too. I wonder if they think that if Bitcoin becomes more valuable than almost any precious metal traded, which is more than any currency, they'll just let it get off scott free. Not to mention, the 'X' in 'XBT' means something.

Is there any way to tell which addresses belong to Satoshi?  For that matter, is there a way to search all public keys and order them from greatest to least in terms of number of btc?

That would be interesting.

Yes he will, but (s)he'll never spend a single satoshi of her/his bitcoin fortune. The invention of cryptocurrency was an entirely selfless act.

Satoshi is not a capitalist.

Nothing like healthy scepticism and hard evidence

Satoshi's stash is firmly controlled by the NSA.

If you guys think that the US government would pass on such an opportunity you are living in a fantasy world.
I totally agree.
Bitcoin is the USA escape from the empty gold vaults

Thing is, he might become the first trillionaire too.

There are already trillionaires but since they own the rich lists they only mention the loosers (billionaires) because they want to stay anonymous.

This all depends on whether he still controls (or most of) those early mined Bitcoins.

Isn't it just a estimate that he has 1 million Bitcoins? By the way, why do people keep saying 'if the price gets...'?
