correctly, you need to have patience in crypto trading, otherwise it will be very painful because a beginner and not only a beginner is trying to quickly sell altcoins earned, it harms not only himself but also others, since there are many who want to sell quickly and naturally the price falls on the coin which is being sold
You should not blame newcomers for selling coins too early when they see a small profit, and this allegedly leads to a dump. Beginners do not have so many coins that the sale could affect the price of the coin. And as experience shows, it is better to get a small profit than a big loss))
I wish I could have seen your comment and learned your experience earlier. Before the current market went down, I held many coins at the high price but didn't sell and now all are dumping fast. Well, I am not saying this is a definite loss and choose to hold all coins until the bull run arrives. As time goes on, I have learned so many valuable lessons and there will be a significant improvement for me to achieve in the future.
You definitely need to hold them if they are a good altcoin/s then, never sell it at a huge loss. If you can still live day by day until the bull run comes then  it's a good thing, I have altcoins too that I bought but not on all time highs but still holding them until I get a decent profit, I could say it's for the long term so not gonna sell it too fast. Good to know you're learning and there are way too many things to learn from it.

I think Investors in altcoins may feel anxious during market downturns, especially if they make bad investment decisions based on FOMO. However, the crypto market is volatile and can change rapidly. Well, interestingly. If an investor believes in the long-term potential of their altcoin, they may want to stick around and wait for the market to recover. But if an investor needs to minimize their losses or reevaluate their investment strategy, they may want to sell and cut their losses. I think regarding the decision to hold or sell should depend on each individual's strategy.

Many people are making huge profits by investing in Dogecoin and many people are falling into huge losses. Since you bought dogecoin at a very high price, hold now without selling and you have no other option. Keep waiting for Elon Musk to change the logo of Twitter and use the logo of Doge coin again or until the next bullrun.
I think it would be wiser to sell and get out, that would make a lot more sense. Too many people are looking at doge as something to make profit from when the hype happens but it is a risk to just wait for the hype. I think it is better to invest into something that will grow naturally and not this way.

This is a fake increase that is done by Elon musk and that is not something you should be hoping for or waiting for. Sell whatever you have even if you lost money, and buy something else with it. You may think that's a loss, but it is better to wait for a recovery in something else than waiting for it at doge. I know plenty of people are not entirely sure what they should be doing about doge, but that doesn't mean they should hold it.

Cryptocurrency is a manipulative market, including bitcoin, you cannot expect something to grow naturally in a small and new market like crypto. I agree that investing in altcoins, especially meme projects is very risky, but as long as someone is willing to take the risk, they can invest in them. Although many people have lost money because of doge, there are also many people who have become rich because of doge, you should not deny that. No one thought doge could hit $0.9 in 2021, but those who believed in it got the reward it deserved. So putting a little money in the doge and expecting the unexpected isn't as bad as you might think.

from my own experience, the first time investing in crypto was very painful for me, because of my impatient nature and panic quickly when a bearish market comes, but now I have convinced myself that the market will recover again, so now I am more holding my altcoins until the bull market comes

I have almost survived my first bear market and patiently waiting now for the bull run to start.

Why was it painful for you did you panic sell? At the bottom in November last year my portfolio was at its worst down 55% but I didn't sell anything I don't understand why people do as that is when you do lose when you sell at a loss.

I bought a lot between June - December last year but hardly bought any this year as I am happy with what I have , if we crash again I will buy more then.

I believe everyone on this forum has made both good and bad decisions in terms of investing in altcoins. I recently made a mistake buying a lot of Dogecoins after Elon Musk changed the Twitter logo into the Doge logo. Price was surging and due to FOMO, I bought a lot at the price of $0.099 and afterwards it started to dump like hell. If I continue to hold Dogecoins, the price might be dumping even lower but if I sell them now, the losses become concrete and I'll never have a chance to win back. Have you ever had the same experience ? What did/would you do ? Please share your opinions. By the way, I am with FireDAO team, in charge of the global community. Please contact me if you have any inquiry.

if at this time the estimated value you have is decreasing, then in my opinion it is better for you to save your Dogecoin until the end of the year, don't sell it when you are still not making a profit.
I think for now there are still big investors who are trying to look at Dogecoin, it's just that they will wait for the right time to buy it. I think Dogecoin still has a chance to be better than before.

As long as risks are well managed, there's nothing to fear. For sure there will be corrections such as what happened earlier this day because of the overbough on market prices. If we qould observe the chart, perhaps Bitcoin, its market price continuously increased from $15k up to  $31k which somehow makes it not surprising. And ofcourse altcoins are also pulled by the correction. If things won't be managed you'd end up in huge loss before the bitcoin halving. As much as possible, beware of news, always check the charts to avoid being shocked whenever the market prices are falling which could affect your emotion and actions. Remain calm as well and this would only be achieved if you will invest an amount under your tolerance of losing.

In the short-term, it might not be that bad since you're actively watching on your investment anyway and you might consider selling it any day due to the hypes. There are number of people, if not many, that are investing in the long-term and the hypes might not prove an advantage for them. I understand that people still remember how Musk like manipulated the market back then and Bitcoin even went past its supposed to be ATH back in 2017, but I would definitely rely on hype. There are tons of what-ifs for me if I invested due to hypes. This is the reason I tend to avoid meme coins.

Investing in altcoins, like any other form of investment, comes with certain risks. Cryptocurrency prices can fluctuate a lot and no one can predict the future with 100% accuracy. It is important to remember that each investor must have their own risk and financial management strategy.
If you made a mistake in investing in Dogecoin and are now in a loss, then the decision to continue to hold coins or sell them depends on your individual situation and riskiness. If you are confident in the potential of Dogecoin and believe that its price will rise in the future, then it may be wise to continue holding coins and wait until the price rises. However, if you do not feel confident about this, then it may be better to sell the coins and realize your losses to avoid even bigger losses.

The Doge price is climbing steadily so I am glad to still hold some. Like it or not, I don't think the hype with Dogecoin is a bad thing because even Elon Musk or anyone is manipulating behind the scenes, what is the loss if Elon is keeping all the spotlight and occasionally promotes Doge ? Anyway, I am saying this mostly because I did not buy that many Dogecoins so even all are lost, I don't really care. It's just fun.

If i must tell you the reality Hold altcoin (except ETH, BNB, Polygon, LTC, TRX) is very risky because you may not properly detects its directions and future but holding bitcoin is secure and safe because is the mover of the market, and has the ability and capacity to withstand any market pressure than altcoin.
Although there are some altcoin that are for easy gain, possible those pump and dump coin whenever you are lucky and they pump you sold off, meaning you have recover.

It all depends on how long you keep altcoins in your portfolio without locking in profits. Altcoins become dangerous over time. That is, at the beginning of their life they can make good profits, but then they can gradually fade and no longer return to the values at which they were traded before. Bitcoin has a constantly growing chart on a large timeframe, so there is no such danger there. I would stick to the position of not investing in altcoins for very long periods of time, otherwise you might just not have time to jump out of that coin with a profit.

Just hold - Doge should at least go back to all time high.

This is not definite but as long as it survives another 12 months till the next bull run it will be fine and go back to all time high and probably go past $1.

You have to be patient, bull run is coming not long now  Grin
If he can control his emotions, he can hold Doge until the price returns to the highest point but he should also have other coins to diversify his investment and can profit from other coins. It's better to have a lot of potential coins as an investment than to have only one or two coins because we know that investing in crypto can provide huge returns. That's why we have to analyze and do research to be able to find the right coin.

He can hope that Doge can rise and reach $1 in the next altcoin season. But he should be ready if that can happen in the next altcoin season because many potential altcoins want to be at the top of the coins in the market.

It really depends on the altcoin that they are holding. I have made some good and bad decisions in both buying, selling and holding altcoins. But I had to admit that most of them are either bad decisions or just “wrong timing and/or coincidence”.

FOMO was also one of the common reasons that we bought those altcoins at the “wrong” time. Maybe if you are so good and stay alerted in the charts, news, etc. (especially the skills that you have), you can get lucky at some point but not always. No guarantees or promises whatsoever.

Eloncoin.org - Mars, here we come!
@Op I think you invested by facing greed. When the price of doge coins has increased, the upward momentum market is never worth investing in for the long term. The current bull market will take a long time to come so you need to be patient. Elon Max In a tweet you invested but the market dumping in the morning did not rise according to your opinion which you regret. Now, instead of regretting and resenting the present, be patient for the long term when the bull market is in front of it.
he doesn't really research his own actions and by the time he makes this topic i'm sure he will continue to make other mistakes without realizing what he is doing with this market. I quite doubt that he is communicating his related project to the community.
This is for the OP, first of all, short-term fomo is just a game of chance, whoever gets there early is more profitable, so don't bring your investment perspective to say you were wrong.
And more importantly, research about risk tolerance as well as possible returns also needs to be planned in advance. I realize not only OP, but most newcomers often blame the market for their own silly mistakes, specifically greed here. So keep experimenting and don't make yourself a victim of this market.
