What do you have in plan to not make this mistake again?

I used to join some bounty campaigns for altcoins and I started liking the tokens when the price goes up during the bull run, the price went down after it. I tried waiting for the next bull run hoping it could rise above its previous ATH. Sadly they are not pumping to its ATH anymore. The lesson that I learned is that sell them all during the bull run.
Exactly true, never holding any coins receiving from bounties campaign when price have been going up because chance is not coming twice. I have experienced with many coins investment become loyal and keep holding during the bull run coming but keep hold until price going drop, better with altcoin investment sell as soon possible and have chance on the higher price before price went down and disappointed moment why not selling on the top price.

Altcoin can't stable on the higher price, many impact with bad news and bitcoin price will give chance for bitcoin drop back and don't waste moment selling altcoin assets in the higher price.

I think undoubtedly that there will be people holding their crypto until the bull run & beyond that, into many future bull runs. There are lots of people who think long term. People who think short term & want quick profits are usually the types who end up REKT. Patience is so important in any investment vehicle.

patience is important, but in my opinion what is more important is to do research before investing, because if we choose the wrong investment, of course we will lose our money, therefore if we want to invest in cryptocurrency, we don't just need to be patient, but have to do research too, so that in the future the price of cryptocurrency that we invest can increase and provide profit.
That's true and indeed before investing it is very important to do research first,
surely it takes time and at least it can minimize the risk,
sometimes someone doesn't do their research first and it will only hurt.

I believe everyone on this forum has made both good and bad decisions in terms of investing in altcoins. I recently made a mistake buying a lot of Dogecoins after Elon Musk changed the Twitter logo into the Doge logo. Price was surging and due to FOMO, I bought a lot at the price of $0.099 and afterwards it started to dump like hell. If I continue to hold Dogecoins, the price might be dumping even lower but if I sell them now, the losses become concrete and I'll never have a chance to win back. Have you ever had the same experience ? What did/would you do ? Please share your opinions. By the way, I am with FireDAO team, in charge of the global community. Please contact me if you have any inquiry.

I don't think DOGE can go much lower than the price you bought it at. If you bought DOGE, it makes sense not to sell the coin, but to hold it until the real global bull run arrives. Short-term Altcoin trades bring almost no profit, that's not their main advantage. Their advantage is that they appreciate over the long haul, giving their investors great interest, and speculating for 10-30% is not worth the risk.

I am one of those who made good and bad decisions in investing altcoins. But i had learned from my mistakes so many times. If an altcoin is on hype we should not go on with the flow because it could turn losses or income for us. Be very careful in investing altcoins. If you had bought them at a high price and suddenly it went down better to hodl them and wait for it to recover to be able to get profit. As an investor I would still hang on with the altcoins that i had until the bull run comes because i do not want to loose the original amount that i had invested.
If you want to invest in altcoins, think before you invest. If you invest in wrong coins, you will never make a profit. So invest in good coins before you invest.  I invested now because the market of altcoins is good, I am now making a lot of profit. I now think that after investing in bitcoin, I will invest in altcoins. If you invest at the right time, you can make a lot of profit.

I got your point and have learned the lesson. Actually I sold most Dogecoins when the price went down so I did lose some money but I still kept some in my portfolio. As of today, the Doge price has increased similarly to where I bought. I won't sell the rest and choose to keep them until the bull run comes. It's not that bad to sacrifice some losses to learn a valuable investment lesson. More importantly, this lesson applies to many aspects of life. I am happy with my losses and gains.  Smiley

I will say first you have done a very big mistake by being carried away with Elon Musk words because he has an interior motives, he can never run such promotion without aiming at something, so finally he succeeded luring people into buy Dogecoin and he sold of his holding leave people with empty coin. If i must tell you the reality Hold altcoin (except ETH, BNB, Polygon, LTC, TRX) is very risky because you may not properly detects its directions and future but holding bitcoin is secure and safe because is the mover of the market, and has the ability and capacity to withstand any market pressure than altcoin.
Although there are some altcoin that are for easy gain, possible those pump and dump coin whenever you are lucky and they pump you sold off, meaning you have recover.

It was a bad investment decision, I know I've done it before but I've never done it again other than profiting from futures trading in terms of pumping altcoins. I think you need to see first whether Doge coin is worth keeping in your portfolio until the bull run comes? maybe Doge's bull run will increase like in the altcoin season but I don't think that doge can give you more returns because what is in Doge itself doesn't have any other functional features in the crypto world that has more technology that many crypto communities need, Doge is just a coin waiting for elon's gold vote to make its price go up.
If you are me, then I will first pay attention to whether or not it is worth holding for a longer time in any altcoin.

With the hype of altcoins and every bull run, I believe there's a new trend and the altcoin market will always have its own show. For me, yes, a lot of people especially these altcoin holders tend to believe that altcoins always follow Bitcoin or the famous "alt season". For me, it still exists, it is just a matter of time.
We should never underestimate the altcoin market.
Basically the possibility will always be there but come back let's follow the developments and see what will happen later,
besides that maybe we also need to do an analysis on the altcoin market,
I hope what you say is true that it is only a matter of time.

The largest bullish movements in hype altcoins occur during the bull season, that's my best time to triggered my sell option. Some of these alternative coins, like GMT and Shiba Inu, helped me stay intact and increased the value of my holdings. Holders of altcoins always make money when the altcoins bull season starts, but keeping an eye out for well-known projects can also be helpful. The bear and bull seasons are when altcoins are available; some just made it through the bear season, which is when we suffer significant losses.

We should never underestimate the altcoin market.
In fact, they are even more surprising than Bitcoin and even with known altcoins.
What we experienced during the last bull season, we can't just ignore that it never happen again as it is really going to happen again and again. As the bull season is coming, people are looking for altcoins, not Bitcoin or even ETH but they are looking for a gem that would possibly give them an x1000 profit. Can't believe it right but fortunately, it happens in the past and for hyped projects.

No one will loss if we don't sell at loss hold it until such time that the price rise above your buying price to earn profit. I know it is hard specially when you see the price dropping and your investment slowly going down but there is no choice because if you sell you well loss hold and keep calm there is always a bull run we only need to wait for it.

I have a lot of coins in my wallet that I bought back in 2017 and the price of which is currently about 10% of the purchase price. And the chances that their price will return to the purchase price are very small. So it is not always the right decision to hold coins until the price reaches high. Sometimes it's easier to sell coins at a loss and invest the proceeds in something more promising.

Agreed. I sold most Dogecoins at a loss and chose to buy Bitcoin. We have to face reality and sometimes it is wise to cut losses than hand over to the uncertain future. I always choose to invest that I can afford to lose and hopefully I learn lessons from the past experiences. Now with Bitcoin price being stable at $30K and Doge coin price climbing, I am all good. The market teaches me a lot. This is a blessing that I am grateful for.
It is usually wise to buy any coin before good news. Because the price of the coin will continue to rise a certain period of time and it will decrease again at one point. What happened to you is that you have purchased Doge coins after the hype and since then the price has started to drop. However, you haven't lost yet. As the Bitcoin grows, the altcoins will grow greatly again, so if you wait for some time, there will have great possibility to get good return. According to the current price, I also plan to hold some coins. However, You must try to consider Long term whatever you decide to buy.

Of course, there are not much of options other than to chill till when Bitcoin's upswing as it remains the key to every other coin that ever exists. And I believe that is happening already it has started showing good momentum for months now.
