I for one sure hope and expect that is what will happen - mayby not short term though. I invested in crypto late 2017 and just don't feel like selling currently  Undecided

Are you still confident after what happened today? Even I, a strong supporter of crypto-currency, am looking at the stock market with concerns. But it might be because of big corporations now supporting the development of virtual currencies. Personally, I don't think it's a good idea.

Immersive as in virtual experiences? Your post reminds me of games like Second Life and High Fidelity which has its own virtual currencies. So are you saying it’s only apt to have crypto because we will eventually have virtual worlds?

I am not too sure, big companies are picking up the virtual currencies' project. Do we also have to be binded to them in the virtual realm?

Well I guess it makes sense to have a virtual currency in a virtual space. I heard developments in VR and AR will make full immersion possible, anyway. What do you think about having a future that is completely virtual though?

Many people have predicted that we will soon witness the fall of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies despite the fact that they are strongly holding up in the stock market. In light of the new developments in technology, is it safe to assume that the sudden interests in immersive technologies is the boost needed to make Bitcoin and other virtual currencies the future of finance?

I don’t think bitcoin will fall just yet. But I guess you have a point in saying that the increasing popularity of technologies can help create awareness of crypto. How can it not, when technologies somehow complement each other? There’s blockchain, AI, 5G, virtual and augmented realties –for sure a virtual currency will fit perfectly in that group.

We must try to give confidence to them that the bitcoin market will soon rise only gradually, because from 2009 - 2018 bitcoin has experienced a large increase in 2017 and is back down this year. Many predictions say that the value of bitcoin in 2019 - 2020 will increase more than 2017.

Bitcoin does have to fall first because the price is still high, it is now difficult for people to get some bitcoins so that the decline is necessary for bitcoin because it can attract other investors to be able to invest in bitcoin. However, it is not only the immersive technology needed to increase bitcoin but market activity also greatly affects the volatility and price movements of bitcoin.

Don't you really think that the VR could boost the use of Bitcoin since most of our activities will take place online?
I mean, right now, we're still using other means of payment such as debit/credit cards which are traceable and with high transaction fees. So, why wouldn't the use of VR incite people to use virtual currencies instead?

Do your own research, make your own predictions, stop listening to what people say, even the news this days carry negative information about the bitcoin that could lead to panic in the midst of it's enthusiasts...

There happens to be no correlation whatsoever between interest in technology and the future of the bitcoin,it just doesn't match

Many people predicted the fall of bitcoin? yes that's right and people are only for talks and they keep on telling things that shouldn't happen. They are good for FUD but they really don't have anything to say if its about the market.

Those people that keeps on telling that has their intention to push down the newbies and force them to sell.

Haven't we had such predictions right from the inception of the bitcoin, but up until now, the bitcoin is not only holding up but crossing barriers people thought it could not cross

We already live in a world of industrial/technological revolution/advancement
I really do not see how it has not will affect the bitcoin in any way.
The bitcoin itself is a modern day technological advancement/creation,the enables it's users absolute control of their assets and what it could be valued at

Immersive technologies like Virtual Reality can surely help increase the popularity not only of bitcoin but of all other digital currencies for that matter but it certainly is not the only driving force. It's the people's receptiveness to all of these technologies. As it is, immersive technologies are not that widely accepted yet it isn't even in the mainstream yet just as much as it is to cryptocurrencies. There's just too much negativity in this planet.

It will, but I guess FIAT currencies will still have a major role for our society since people will have a lot of research before they can finally use digital currencies in the future.

By immersive technologies, do you mean augmented reality? If so, then I don't really see how the two are related. You could probably argue that Bitcoin could be perfectly integrated into them, but so can fintech services which is far likelier to happen. They're both emerging technologies, I suppose, but that's as far as their similarities go as far as I can see. I simply can't draw a parallel here.

don't confuse FUD with prediction. and it is not many people, it is a small group who are always spreading FUD and mostly news sites that nowadays have run out of things to publish.

and other cryptocurrencies
this is nothing new. altcoins collapse all the time. you can search for deadcoins on good and see a huge list of them that have already collapsed and died and  are dying every day too!

what sudden interest? i don't see any change. last year we had a spike in "speculators" who were mostly newbies who thought they could become millionaires and this year when altcoins got dumped on them, they left and are still leaving.

I don't think so, I don't see the connection between those two concepts, unless Bitcoin is absolutely needed to access or use immersive technologies, which is not very likely to happen.

And I can see a connection. Cryptocurrencies are safer, faster, cheaper to use than fiat money. 100% under your control and not vulnerable to holidays like banks. They don't have to be taken down for maintenance they are always able to assist you. The only things that you need are power and Internet connection.
In future people will want to be able to pay at any time of the day. They will not want to remember about taking the wallet with them every time they leave the house.

But I don't see any correlation between immersive technologies and crypto though so I would say it won't put so much impact on bitcoin price. Those are two distinct technology, but its going to be interesting how Blockchain Technology would holistically affect immersive technologies such as VR (virtual reality) or AR (augmented reality). That is if I understood what you mean by Immersive Technology.

Quote
Immersive technology refers to technology that blurs the line between the physical world and digital or simulated world, thereby creating a sense of immersion. Immersive technology enables mixed reality; in some uses, the term "immersive computing" is effectively synonymous with mixed reality as a user interface.

I think it's the wrong prediction, today we see that every spread of bitcoin always produces a positive response from the public, only people who don't understand technology and people who hate bitcoin refuse it. they hinder the development of bitcoin.

but, in the future, bitcoin will be regulated and become a legal currency.

How come you see only immersive technologies as a boost needed for cryptos?? What about other??

Also when you refer to the prediction that says bitcoin price will decrease, either that "someone" has entered in the crypto market during late 2017 or he wish to buy cheap bitcoins from you. Compare the yoy growth of bitcoin price since inception, and you will see no other asset had shown such impressive growth apart from only real estate.

I believe cryptos (not only bitcoin) have the power to change the face of future economy and finance around the world for sure. However, I think decentralization part will have to be compromised in order to achieve that milestone because our government will not allow decentralized virtual currencies take over the control, ever!

Virtual currencies will certainly be the future, but those will be issued and controlled by the governments only!!
