I personally don't like to share my winning to my social media and this forum because if I post my winning amount, the losses amount is higher than my winning, so it's just make me to not show a real condition of my gambling history. As a gambler you will keep losing since the house edge always on the casino side. Only few casino have a happy hour promotion where the house edge is 0%.

I don't know what some sort of gamblers stand to benefit from announcing themselves tobthe public than doing them much harm beyond expectations, as long as I can't post all my losses made on social media then there's no need to begin to announce myself online, this sounds a little of being inmature enough, those little things like that get some gamblers freaked to the extent of loosing control in excitement, winning such amount maybe consider as nothing to some because they have bet with higher amount to the one he just won.

There is a type of person who is very fond of showing off on social networks no matter what. Their main goal is to make everything beautiful. Someone sees a beautiful car and takes a picture next to it, saying that he won this car. Others, however, know that money loves silence, and in order not to frighten off luck, it is better to be modest, rather than letting your vanity scream to the entire world.
Firstly, it is very correct for your own safety, and it subsequently relieves you of the stress of showing people how lucky you are, although luck can turn away at any moment.

Do you think it's unhealthy to always post your winnings on social media and forums because this habit will lead you to chase your losses and bet more so you can post your winning, I find this habit forming and this is bad especially if people are following you and always looking forward to your winning posts.
TBH, I don't know the feeling of it because aside from the fact that I only gamble a few times, I'm not posting anything on social media at all.

It depends on the person I guess because there are some who are just posting their winnings on social media because they wanted to. There are some who are posting it on social media because they want to brag their winnings and that's very unhealthy if you will ask me. I also have friends on Facebook who is posting their winnings in gamble such as Dice, Bingo if you are familiar with and Roulette, but most of the time I only ignore it.

I also don't know why in the hell they are posting their winnings. I mean isn't it dangerous because posting it means you have more money and more money equals more attractive to criminals?

Personally, I don't see the point in sharing winnings posts on social networks, unless the person has a personal gambling channel where he helps to understand gambling, communicates with the community and shares ideas, reviews, etc. And if a person publishes his winnings just for self-affirmation in the eyes of the public, it certainly does not make any sense (at least for me). Besides, such behavior carries some risks for underage users of social networks.

it is the attitude mate, even without posting in social media but if you are a kind of person that don't wanna give up easily? then you will keep chasing no matter what.
but for  me? why need to post in social media when your friends and family may find you winning and will ask you for tips lol.
Its like flexing what he achieve for the day and maybe they don't worry about doing those because maybe they know that their family members will just ask low amount or will not care about those money. But its up to the person since  there are people who can handle things and by simply posting it will just feel them more happy.

If your goal is to build a good statistics and then you are planning to show that off in social media, then yes you will chase or recover your past losses but that is something that is hard to do and can only lead you for more losses but if your only goal is to show off a win then that is more doable.

I think you will know if someone is following you or admire your gambling post because they will like your post, comment or message you privately about it. It's important that we will be honest and humble. Admit to them that you cant always pull off a win because this was gambling and not some kind of an atm machine. That way you will not be pressured and try too much.

There are different reasons why anyone would do this..

1. The person might be doing so to promote the gambling website, maybe the dev are paying him or her.

2. The winnings might not be genuine, they might be doing this to lure people like you who can't take their eye off others winnings online.

Also someone talking or posting their winnings doesn't mean they will end up losing I have never heard of such before.

Aside from it's a bad habit since it can develop into addiction in the long run, it's really not good to post your winnings because you also put yourself in danger. Unwanted people like criminals might monitor your movements and possibly harm you when they get the chance. Even your relatives are at risk because someone might use them as a leverage to extort money from you.

To be honest, sometimes I post screenshots of betting on social media, in this case football betting. not infrequently too, I post parlay bets on social media, there's nothing wrong with that.
and IMO, it's no different than posting other things that are still related to betting. similarly, when I get a big profit from trading BTC and then post it on social media.

this is purely just personal satisfaction without being influenced by the motive of wanting to look cool, great or anything like that.  so I guess, related to the OP's post, everyone will be different and go back to their own individual. as well as how you see it, the perspective will certainly be different.

Regarding habits, anything in excess will have a bad impact.

People that always do thus are media influencers. It could be that they are paid by some gambling companies to always post and advertise their site. Another thing could be the person gives people prediction and takes money. So they will post more and more winnings so that people will believe them that they are very good in winning bets, by then they will have more customers and make more money than they win.

No, I disagree.. it is not just paid Social media Streamers that are doing this... there are a lot of people that are not streamers, but they simply want to brag with other gamblers about their winnings.

Take the Stake.com English Chat for instance... people post their latest wins all the time and then people will start the "begging" for rain, just after it was posted. A lot of those people are doing it... for self gratification ....and others are doing this to show the other gamblers that they won against the house.  Roll Eyes

Posting your own wins isn't bad on its own and it's possible that it could encourage you to chase losses but I don't think it's always the case based on the winning posts that i've seen. Others post their wins as a way to promote the site then there are some that post their wins so they could share their experience. Every winning post doesn't always show how much they've lost before hitting that win but I just think it depends on the person's mindset for example if they require themselves to post their wins in every session.
Yes, I do agree here, sometimes you need to share your experience and post your winnings and your bet before hand. But I don't think it will led to gambling addiction. Maybe the gambler itself is already addicted that's why he keeps posting.

But for those who are not, I'm sure posting will not be an issue for them. And I don't think that they are also going to chase their losses, it's just the experience that they are sharing.

I think it is stupid if you do it on social media, unless you make a living from it by being a gambling Youtuber or something like that. On forums you are more anonymous, so it makes more sense. I see more advantages than disadvantages. It is one thing to answer a specific thread on the subject, but to give an account of it as if it were the income statement of a company does not make sense. It is better to maintain privacy.

Sometimes it's normal to be proud of your winnings because it can give you joy and satisfaction.

I think this is human nature where always proud for his achievements,

Are you aware that, with very few exceptions, the results of casino games do not depend on you? It's like being proud of rain or shine.

I think this is human nature where always proud for his achievements, and on my opinion is not bad. some people will be even more excited after proud the winning, and next, will try to make another winning, if happen to me, I will be nature, I don't want to ambition to must won, if lose, I will also tell it on sossial media also which inderectly gambling is not only win but you will also lost.

Sometimes it's normal to be proud of your winnings because it can give you joy and satisfaction. However, if you're doing this to brag and to show to others that you're good at playing then I think it's not right. Because if you have this habit of posting your winnings, you might be pressure to gamble often to win and it's not really healthy since gambling is risky and there's always a high chance to lose your money.

Hence much better to refrain from posting and dont make it a habit because it can affect the way you gamble.

I don't request loans~
I'd honestly consider any sort of sharing personal info on social media as unhealthy. It's not really a matter of "chasing loses", just that it's, well, you really don't. If you were trying to copy celebs, streamers, and other sorts of famous people, their entire lives center around being public, not something I'd honestly recommend, but well their jobs revolve around that anyway.

But well, if you're account was anon, then I guess it's fine. The mindset of wanting to chase more winnings isn't you posting at fault imo, I mean in the first place before you got that win, just imagine how many losses you had before? You've always chased for a win, whether it's due to wanting to share it or not.

I believe this habit of posting your earnings came mainly from players who stream.
However, they often have the purpose of earning some commission for the advertising they are doing on the site.
Ordinary players do this for the simple pleasure of "having to" share their winnings.
I see two problems there... the first is security because many give up their privacy and post these results on social media like facebook and twitter where many know the player personally.
The second is exactly what you said... the "need" to play more and more to keep posting more and more frequent and biggerwinnings.

One of the main reasons I prefer online or crypto gambling is because it promotes privacy. Posting my wins or losses on social media is a no-go area for me because my gambling life is even secret. Secondly, I don't think gambling is a very good habit that should be exposed or publicized. Most social media platforms don't have policies that restrict underaged users from accessing them. Your post might reach an underaged child who might see your wins as a motivation to start gambling. And children are more prone to gambling addiction.

I don't also think it is ideal to chase your losses. Trying to recover your losses can lead to more losses because gambling is unpredictable. It could also lead to financial recklessness and gambling addiction. It is far better to have restrictions and see gambling as a form of entertainment and not a source of income.
