Do you think it's unhealthy to always post your winnings on social media and forums because this habit will lead you to chase your losses and bet more so you can post your winning, I find this habit forming and this is bad especially if people are following you and always looking forward to your winning posts.

It is actually not good to post our gambling wins in social media.  One of the reason is the possibility of people having ill intention to the posters.  Aside from that, if the intention of poster is to brag then it is possible that a person will keep on gambling just to have some winnings to brag for.  I agree that I might develop a habit of chasing losses but I think it still depends on the person.

This is the first time I've ever even heard about someone doing this.  First off, the number one rule in finance should probably be  DON'T TALK ABOUT YOUR MONEY TO OTHER PEOPLE/OUT LOUD.  It is no one else's business how much money you make, how much money you gamble, or how much money you win gambling..

Keep things private, don't talk about what you have or won, it's no one elses businesses.  Plus there's a million other reasons it's simply not a smart thing to do.

This depends actually since you also mentioned about posting only your "winnings" and not your losses.

Posting your winnings and the amounts that you received respectively can most likely influence other people from gambling as well when they see your winnings. The potential danger here is not about chasing your losses but actually influencing the younger generation in this destructive habit. Maybe to balance this out, you should also post your losses as this can be considered your "wake-up call" in choosing NOT to gamble further.

In my opinion, it would be better if we didn't post anything related to what we got, including the results of trading cryptocurrencies, the results of crypto payments from any program, and our investments, including the results from gambling.

The reason is for the security of our assets or account itself. Apart from what the OP has already explained, posting on social media will attract more hackers to find out what we have and where. And the online world is sometimes very cruel, where hackers can easily hack what we have. So, to reduce the risk and increase security, it would be better to avoid posting on social media.

What's more, posting gambling results will also make judgments in our social environment, and other people's perspectives on us. Especially if we live in an environment where gambling is something that should not be done. While we may be indifferent to our point of view, what about our families?
Plus, what if the authorities find out about our gambling activities? This will be problematic mate, especially if gambling is prohibited in our country.

Posting the losses on social media is not good for any gamblers. This lets them have a reminder to gamble, even if the user finds a way to stay excluded from gambling. This will make surrounding people judgemental over our activities. Addictive Gambling happens when the gambler is emotionally down.

^ You can try it yourself and do an experiment with this.
But on my side, I won't do that thing for my own reason, I prefer to become low-key and don't tell to anyone that I have won. The reason could be your security and your life may be put in danger if they know you consistently win in gambling. Social media won't be a place where everything your activities people know, all your life happens people know because possible, this lead to knowing more you if there is someone who has a bad interest in you.

There are people who do really get proud on sharing up their winnings in public which would really be giving out that kind of motivation for them to play and feeling up being contented because they do able to hit

some winnings but of course it is something that would be always happy days because there would really be those losing moments but eventually those frustrations would be entirely be wiped out

once you do win again.I do somewhat partly agree that having this kind of mindset would really be motivating you or be pushing you to play more which is something
that you could be able to post up something on your socmed.

Aside from this, you’re putting yourself on a bigger risk so I’d rather win secretly than to expose it.
I see a lot of my friends sharing their winning trades, and this is their way to market their other crypto agenda and I think if you are working online, this might help but when it comes to gambling better not to post it because many thinks differently when it comes to gambling activities. You can share your happiness on a different way, but don’t post your winnings, it’s too risky for me.

In this community? I sometimes posts my winning in the sports that I bet, but it's very seldom. I post it to show that I did have a bet on that player because I have mentioned it before the game, but I hide how much money I bet, not good to brag how big you put in. But in social media? no, I don't want to exposed myself and why would someone do that? unless you are really into gambling and that you have a lot of money and followers in all of your social media account. And as far as getting addicted, still base on the individual itself, maybe he will be push to show more of his winnings to keep up with this social media "status".

It's actually bad, what else you'll get from this anyway? Fame? Unless you're not an influencer you'd just wasting time posting it instead. I think it's best to just keep it to yourself, you'll not know one of your post may lead to get a social engineering on you and may lead to hacking or because of your carelessness you posted some personal stuff online.
What people are really looking for is result and this had made lots of persons make more loses because they will want or be like a particular person without knowing what the person had undergone to have such kind of result. Everywhere is tight and some newbies gamblers are not really calming down to learn the strategy or relax enough to gain experience before urging to make bigger winnings even when they do not understand the way things are going.  Gaming is very difficult but some persons still think that everything is always based on luck which is very very wrong.

I see no reason why you should post your winning on the social media, their are somethings you should keep personal, I think it's really bad posting your wining on social media, if you keep on winning and people starting noticing, then some people might start tracking you and will want to harm you or steal from you, that's why I think anything that has to do with money should remain personal.
Am sure the person will only post his winning and won't post whenever he lose, so he will want to gamble always so that he can win and post it and whenever he lose he will keep on gambling so that he can win and post which at the end the amount he will lose will more than the win, just because he wants to impress people.

It's really subjective though, I mean though perhaps those who are posting are like social influencers and wanted to show their winnings. Or they are really a big whales and they need to flash and show their money around. I remember Floyd Mayweather always do that, mentioned how much he bet on certain events with pix of the ticket. If not the ticket then the whole winnings itself, the money in front of him.

But for normal gamblers like the majority of us, I don't think we need to post our winnings. Yeah, perhaps some, but not everything should be exposed. Just keep the winnings for yourself and if someone ask then tell them that you either win or lose.

If you're only posting your winning to boost your likes and gain more followers then its indeed risky but if you are posting your whole experiences like winnings, losses, and your whole experience for educational purposes then it's okay, just don't concentrate on winning only its hard to win don't force yourself to win so you can post, gambling has a lot of uncertainties you cannot always be sure on every session, I have seen people posting their experience and I don't see any wrong with it, as long as you are gambling within your means.

because if you are only posting your winnings, the pressure will always be there to chase your winnings. however, in doing so, you may end up spending a lot as winning is not always be at your side. also, ask yourself, what's the reason why you are posting those results publicly? is it to boast  your winnings to the public? because if the reason is just too shallow, better not to. you are also making yourself prone to online fraudsters. there's no need to post your winnings via social media channels. much better if you can just celebrate it on your own and you will be more at peace with yourself.

Yes, I think this is a fair statement.

Gambling requires attention and concentration.  When you post about your winnings on social networks, forums and instant messengers, you are not focusing on gambling, but on communicating with your subscribers.

This can lead to negative consequences.  This applies not only to gambling, but also to trading.  Many traders have reported a decline in their financial performance after they started blogging about their trading experiences.  There is a saying - Money loves silence.

In my opinion, you shouldn't brag about your gambling winnings.  This can lead to financial losses.

Unfortunately people can be rather fickle creatures, so if you are vain enough to be posting your wins then it is very possible that they will chase the behavior that you're suggesting. However I'm not sure who considers this normal if you are an average wage earner? Maybe if you're a millionaire celebrity who can afford and manage the losses, it might draw in a certain sub group of new subscribers who find that sort of content interesting. However if you are a "nobody" just posting to friends and family, you might find your friend list shrinks as people see it as destructive and anti-social. It's likely the habit formed for other reasons than feeling the urge to post such content in most cases.

I believe it depends on the person. Suppose they are fueled by how social media works, like with all the likes and reactions on a single post, it's going to be troublesome because if they are going to be constantly going in for the likes, there could be a chance that you are going to be so desperate enough that you would either hurt yourself by the image that you want others to see. If you cannot have that, then you will have a problem. It will affect you financially and mentally with all the dependency on gambling, making it even more attractive to gamble. That's going to be hard if you aren't going to be managing yourself with the possible addiction.

It is %100 bad habit to share your winnings and losses to other people that you don't know. I mean what do you exactly expect by doing that? People would admire good things in exeggerated manner on internet. And people same bad things to ground! Its definitely unhealthy to post everything you do on social media. Although, in my opinion, it may make you feel good to share things you do by close friends so you can feel satisfied or you may relax. Bad comments may make you more greedy and addicted to gambling.

I think you could have a point about posting your gambling habits online. Although I could agree that posting losses would be more harmful, I don't believe that posting winning will lead you to chasing your losses.

Chasing your losses is a really bad habit. It has been proven time and time again that it is a losing strategy as it leads to bad play and is a sure way to lose more money. The best way to stop this is to take a break from the game when you are on a losing streak. It means that once you have lost a certain amount of money, stop playing for that session and move on.
