Maybe, why not? As long as it is not banned in that region or by FIFA, then I think it is okay! However some players for example in China will never get paid in bitcoin because it is already banned as well as the other countries that banned it. Also, if they are going to pay them with bitcoin, then I believe the price will be high because players get high payment. It is just a matter of time until bitcoin is recognized worldwide.
I think bitcoin isn’t a thing which should be banned because there is nothing bad in using bitcoin as a digital currency. Also bitcoin is very helpful to deal with transactions related to online procedures. Bitcoin popularity is increasing day by day and I think that the time will soon come in our lives when we will see player’s transfers paid in bitcoins as the world is becoming more modern and digitalized day by day. Bitcoin has made it place in trading also so easy to see its use in football.

That is sort of funny because being paid in bitcoin would mean their pay could either increase of decrease.
But a player did accept it in Turkey as the link has shown clearly enough.

There is a player in the NFL (that is the American Football league for those not familiar with what it is, it is in the States) that is quite into bitcoin and even started accepting it for merch and promoting an exchange called Cobinhood.

Quite interesting indeed: https://www.cnbc.com/2018/02/02/richard-sherman-nfl-players-are-curious-about-bitcoin.html
Cause if bitcoin does reach it's forecasted potential as most predict it reaching $50k later on this year, then you could expect him being the first to accept being paid by his football organization. And maybe some to follow suit.
Why knows, because bitcoin's value is really up in the air at this point and time very much so being sub $8k now. Undecided

Yes that can be, in fact in different places people have to face different condition, in japan bitcoin is legal and they will like to be paid in bitcoin, while in china they may not be welling to be paid in bitcoin, because they may be facing problems while converting their bitcoins in to fiat currency in their local area.

Maybe it could happen, but not for now because the price of Bitcoin is currently churning. That's not impossible because I think there are companies that transfers their money, invest their money, and manage their money with Bitcoin because maybe they feel that it's easier. Unlike the transfer in the bank use the regular currency. In the bank there are many boundaries that Bitcoin does not have. For example, like the limit of money transferred at certain hours and in one day, age to transfer and have a bank account, and if you transfer money in a very large and unusual amount, you will surely be suspected.

I really feel that dealing with bitcoin in players transfert is a good idea bceause now the market prices are so high and we really need another kind of payment to make it easy. Bitcoin can resolve the problem and help investator to make an easier work.

I disagree. If Bitcoin would be used as a mean of payment for football transfers it would destroy football.

Recently one of the football club started to pay its players with bitcoin. Maybe this could be a good start for more similar clubs to follow it. Recently saw an ico related to sports and more sporting personalities being a part of the community as well the development team. This shows the involvement of players into cryptocurrency.

Why would you say in 3rd world countries? I think it's because bitcoin there is really beneficial and it would be soon to take over there with money. In Zimbabwe, I think they have some kind of currency there or I don't know if they use bitcoin already but it helps them.

Already happened even though it was with a Turkish Amateur League side, coz of the club of their stature maybe most will not take them very serious, but it is a start of something. Also, Arsenal have just recently signed a partnership deal with a US cryptocurrency firm - CashBet. So the more football clubs start having some sort of relation with Cryptos, and their finance department understand it better, we could see such activities grow in the next couple of transfer markets.

Guys! It happened yesterday! Here is the link:

Omer Faruk Kiroglu transfer is the first in history paid with bitcoin!
Can't understand the link and I don't know on who are those people out there. But my guess that this news is all about the "first transfer of bitcoin". Nothing as usual, they want only to document the first transfer and nothing will add to the discussion but if someone can translate it that will be better and will be an enlightenment.

Don't you know how to use google translate? In short, club Harunustaspor from Turkey bought player Omer Faruk Kiroglu for 0.0524 BTC. The club which sold him, hopes BTC will continue to rise.

I know but I'm not comfortable using google translate, I did some before but its not accurate by that moment when I'm trying to translate something. Well if that's the news all about that's a good adopt but with the current price of bitcoin at $8,500 * 0.0524 BTC = $445.4

Sounds too cheap but its a good thing that they are already recognizing bitcoin which can really be used on paying some players.
That's what I noticed but the adoption is what matters most this will start all bitcoin payments through the entire sports community.

It is possible in the future but it will always depend on two things which is first the club owner and of course the legality of Bitcoin where the club is situated in. If the two requisites are all good then there will be no problem for a club paying in Bitcoin for the transfer fee of the player. I don't see any wrong with this as even car sellers are now accepting cryptocurrencies outside of Bitcoin which is really a good sign as many businesses are seeing what opportunity cryptocurrencies are giving to us. We can also say that these businesses are not afraid of the volatility as they can handle it on their own.
There are employees soon that will be paid thru bitcoin in Japan soon as the news flew last year of December, meaning we can't really tell this early that it will be impossible, it will base if an Sports agency or organization will be open on this idea. Having bitcoin as salary can be a good idea to those who have already knowledge in cryptos but to those who are just starting it will took them courage if they will accept it. There are sports organization that are open for ICO or have idea to run some ICO, who knows some of them might offer paying their players in bitcoin soon.

I wonder why it is not already happening in the sports world as they are would have been many big shots are already using bitcoins for many reasons and then they are approaching any player for paying them with the bitcoin payments along with explaining what are the advantages they will be having by accepting bitcoin payments.

Because sports industry is a multi trillion industry and players are being signed for millions. The recent IPL auction is a good example. When players are considering about paying multi-tier taxes then definitely they will prefer to go for crypto based payments for sure.
