No, I will always keep using fiat currency, but I find it easier for some things to use Bitcoin.

Only those who mined and joined the bitcoin train early could quit their day job now and still be rich. If only I knew what was I doing back in 2010, I would already be rich by now.

Back to the topic, if bitcoin is $10k or more a piece then I'll probably quit my day job and create my own business. In that way I will have a passive income and I will get the privilege to be called as "boss". Wink

If I had about 3x the hash power, I would. As it is, can't afford to.

 8-(

Hash power is not the key. You can't beat specialized bitcoin mining farms. If you think you can set a rig in your house it would be rather pure hobby that real money earning experience.

 I'm not talking *A* rig.

No, I can't match the likes of MegaBigPower but I can get pretty close with carefull management on a per-TH basis. The only really big advantages the bigger farms have over me right now are (1) they can get their units cheaper, or build their own in mass volume so they can ROI them a lot faster (2) They can transition to a "new generation" sooner, with their direct close relations to one or more manufacturers (3) I'm not in a REAL low power cost location yet.
 (2) we're going through right now and will be effectively done with for THIS generation transition in 2-4 months, (3) should change soon (I've had plans to move for a while that predate my knowlage that Bitcoin even existed and the finances for that are finally comming together).

On my side, I can get by with a LOT lower investment into cooling and space. Probably a little lower even on a per-TH basis, I know how to economise and shop for low-cost space that can also be used as living space (I ran my own business for almost a decade and managed to make a living at it on an total investment of less than $2000 at startup, most of THAT in "books" for inventory that I might have managed to sell off HALF of over the course of that near-decade - I also lived out of my "shops" almost that entire time). I'd also have lower labor costs, perhaps even on a per-TH basis.

I don't expect to "rival the big farms" anytime soon - I don't have that kind of money available.
Make a living off of farming though IS doable, if you know how to live frugal and come up with a suprisingly small amount of investment.

Not right now because it's too risky imo.
As Amph already mentioned it for instance depends on how many coins you have. Having 2000-3000 coins gives some opportunities and some financial independence to start an own Bitcoin project.
But with just a few coins and monthly fixed bills you have to pay there's no way to go this path right now.
If Bitcoin grows in value and you're still able to accumulate this might change in the next years.

If you have a revolutionary idea, I am sure you will find people who will support it. The best people to pitch your idea would be with co-workers or a bunch of friends you think will be beneficial for the project. If you think that they are of no good, you should try to pitch ideas to investors. Everybody is looking for the next big thing, all the time and if your product is something which has the potential, it will be a hit. Make sure you offer something different than the others, something much more and a little less Wink

When Bitcoin price goes above $1000 then I think I would quit my part time job and go full time on Bitcoin. I imagine the future as working from the comfort of my home and getting paid in BTC. It would be wonderful. By that time, Bitcoin would have become mainstream. But again, it's just my imagination.  Roll Eyes

From a business point of view it is possible, from only trading it is risky. The question itself is vague. You can quit your job and go full time trading stocks or starting a company, only you can niche it to Bitcoin if you are skilled.

A creative way would be to involve your business along with bitcoin and integrate them together, it could be a really bright idea. In such a way, you are also promoting bitcoin and informing so many people about its very existence, it would be a dream for me to have a business and I am directly paid in bitcoin. I don't need to convert it or anything, and I can directly shop with it in real time.

Are you inspired by those bitcoin millionaires? Are you thinking of filing a resignation letter on your day job (if you have any) and focus on bitcoin instead?

Me? I do have a day job and I consider bitcoin as my side job. I don't want to lose that another source of income just because bitcoin is awesome.
You realize that majority of so called bitcoin millionaires are either:
1. Early adopters who won jackpot by joining into bitcoin train early and now are rich.
2. Already rich people who have huge FIAT assets and bought bitcoins with the aim of earn more from it.

If you are average Joe, there is not much you can do to become bitcoin millionaire, Bitcoin price is not that low so you could buy enough to be rich in the future.
There is no way if someone already have normal job to quit and switch to bitcoin alone.

It really depends on the pay then, does it not? A dozen BTC a month would be pretty comfortable and if you reinvest fairly you should be okay if the BTC price fall for a while.

If i had thousands of bitcoins i wouldn't really need to work much to live well for the rest of my life anyways.
I would certainly not hold thousands of coins.

Bitcoin itself too risky. No I wouldn't quit my preciouss day-job for bitcoin.

with 300$ price, We may still be in a bubble. Who knows? Who can guarantee it won't drop to 100$ tomorrow? Nop, thx.

What do you do for a day job and why does it seem so precious to you? I would jump to btc permanently when I get such an opportunity in the crypto world which gives me more satisfaction than my previous jobs and also aids me financially. I think I am already always planning to make my future ventures integrated with bitcoin, that day isn't so far Smiley

I own a shop, my income is 5000$/month. Don't think i would get more with bitcoin Smiley Posting here and there to add more to my income. Cause i am greedy as f**k.

What kind of shop? I think if you can save quite enough, you can take help from your family/friends and ask them to handle the shop while you take break and do signature campaigns or little btc jobs and tasks, you might find a bunch if you look up over the internet. There is nothing impossible in this world, you can quite possibly earn money blogging about your products which you sell in shop Wink

I have always treated bitcoin as a side project. I never intend to put my complete devotion in something virtual. Yes I love bitcoin and bitcoin technology. But I'm not willing to put everything at risk for something virtual.

Trading is very risky thing to do, i guess anyone could start to trade, but they would need to give 100% commitment to get educated on the subject, and even the most skillful trader has some losses from time to time. It takes careful planning.
great player though certainly never experienced a loss, because they certainly take risks for big profit
