A year ago market was totally in the hype, I felt like I knew it all just because my altcoins was growing. But alas... just hype. I bought so much shit and still holding. I can't wait to get rid of them asap.

If you're not one of those who have bitcoin early, altcoin is the best choice to fold your money. Bitcoin has already been adequately assessed, after which it is very difficult to get profit.

i do not fully agree with this point of view. in fact, holding bitcoin is certainly the most reliable. because the bear market is currently dominated by the market. however, if the real bull market returns, then some good quality ALTS may become 10X or 100X. this is something BTC can't do, in the short term.

Ive been holding for 4-5 months and all my alts are way down vs bitcoin nothing but down. All top alts too.
Yeah I feel you altcoins has been agitated with the current market. All are down and it is really that bad for it right now. Well you do not have any choice for now and that is to hold your altcoins. Altcoins maybe down for now but mind you that when market will turn to good those altcoins will definitely be good also to earn more profit. This is how I view the current altcoins for the bear market. Let us be patient for now!

I do not regret buying altcoins, but I do regret NOT selling them at ATH, or not buying them in the dumps, thus I lost most of my portfolio value in 2018. Now slowly am trying to get my head out of the black and murky water I put myself in and yes if I had just held Bitcoin from ATH to now I would have still had 25% of my portfolio value, now I only have 15 of my portfolio value form 100% SO I AM 995 IN LOSS. It will take a miracle to get back what I lost, but maybe in 2 years time if I am lucky I will get there.

A lot of people have this regret but no risk no reward, the performance of ICOs this year has been nothing to right home about and this is even given exchanges more power over projects to list, then this wasn't an issue all you have to do is to pay Bittrex to get listed on their platform but the landscape has changes and most projects are trading at 70% or more their ICO price and to make it worse Ethereum price has crashed from $1400 to $200 which robbed most ICOs their fund because they are stupid enough not to hedge the ICO fund

Most times,  bitcoin is the determinant for altcoin prices that is why I don't keep my funds in altcoin especially when bitcoin is trading low or prices are sideways.  Bitcoin is the most stable Cryptocurrency though,  altcoin when it's rising can give you more earnings in terms of profit!

I do no think so Dash, Ethereum, Monero and BCH, all of them are alt-coins and they also have solid bases. It's true that there are a lot of useless coins but it doesn't mean that all the alt-coins are worth of nothing.
Yes there are coins that has solid bases but compare to only bitcoin portfolio, what can you say about that?

I have alts too but I understand those people that bought a lot of coins that are worthless and made them a lot of losses.

Would have been much better off just leaving everything in bitcoin. Altcoins suck.

thats going to be the biggest mistakes of some crypto traders in this year because they rely much on bitcoin and forgot that altcoins also had some potential along the way

Your wrong man, you cant rely all your investment in Bitcoin alone,If I may suggest you should go for Ethereum also. Dont lose hope, this year for altcoins is really a bearyear due to more cautios mind of people investing nowadays. By the year 2020 you will surely realize what I say that altcoins have future.
On the time that he created this topic Bitcoin is really flying and he is in the right position since the value of Bitcoin reached the higher peak, while those Alts are still falling but after some weeks Alts also start to pumped up, we really needed to analyze so we can justify our investment, if it's needed to diversify or holding Bitcoin alone can be seen after results happened.

I am also a altcoin holder and holding from last 5-6 months. Sometimes I got frustrated and upset just because low price. But I still believe in crypto and hopefully the cyrpto market will recover at the end of this year. Just believe in crypto.
That all holders hope I think, no one holder's want to lose their investment, That why their become a holders then looking for a good profit.
buying some Altcoin and hold for a long term I think that's a good idea, because you know what, it's not only bitcoin that can make a money
in this case choose a altcoin which that have a good future I mean how useful them in crypto world

Altcoins doesn't actually suck at all. Market price may be low as of now, but its a great way to diversify your portfolio. If you invest everything you have to bitcoin, then it suddenly drops, tendency is that you lose everything you have. And the saddest part there is that you don't know when it'll rise back up again. But if you actually split you money to different alts and btc, that will lessen your chance of losing and definitely more % of earnings for you.
Diversify and find ways to make it earn, do trading. It's a sure way to earn even little since we are the one who will decide whether to buy or sell at the price.
At least dividing capital will be much safer, because one altcoin might fall and you still have other altcoin investments. You also have
to manage risk well mate, don't let you choose all your investment with small altcoins, make sure you have invest in a trusted altcoin one, like Ethereum, XRP, etc. so the risk is not too big..

Nah, I do not think the way you do. There are so many altcoins that I highly regarded as amazingly solid. You cannot just generalize and divide the entire cryptocurrency between Bitcoin and altcoins. Altcoins are composed of so many highly different coins. While many of them really sucks, you simply cannot say that to, say, Ethereum (ETH) or Cardano (ADA), etc.

indeed sometimes the altcoin is profitable. but we also don't look at the altcoin in the eye. because tomorrow it's possible that when you don't buy or don't have an altcoin sometimes it rises high, then you will regret everything you think about altcoin.

Maybe for sure in the future that you will be glad because you have altcoin. If the coin that you hold is increasing the value maybe your mind or thinking to don't have altcoin will be change. Better to buy more altcoins and you are lucky because you have that.

By investing in alts, you have to take a risk because here in crypto you have to ready for what will happen in future whether if its down or up. But remember, bitcoin is trading at its low when it they launch and see now the price. So you better hold your coins if it is down or low no matter what and you will see the real value of your investment and makes you a good profit.
New Altcoins carries a huge risk for investors, even despite their high rating. In most cases, I can trust a certain token, which are the companies that will be in demand in society. Such investment is more reliable.

Some crypto coins can earn more during certain periods. Due to the losses in Altcoins, I do not find the right to transfer the entire investment to Bitcoine. I agree with the opposite. What is important is to follow a strategy by dividing the whole investment into pieces in a single place.

consider bitcoin as a compulsory savings and altcoin as a daily trading center. so the proportion is clear and there is nothing wrong, bitcoin still has its own place as a long-term center of trust because somehow the volume is never smaller than the others.

I was really annoyed with eth, which was barely able to maintain the best price this year, and I should focus on trading with other altcoin variations.
