They first claim it's hard to find any women at the inside bitcoins conference in Vegas (~500 to 1,000 people)

but they proceed to find an astonishing 10 women! Smiley haha

pay special attention @ 4:57: "It all started on the bitcointalk forum" Cheesy

I wasn't one of the ten. Wink

I would have gone if BitChicksHusband wanted to though.

Vegas is not really my favorite town.  The objectifying of women is a bit rampant there.  I know some of you enjoy that sort of thing.  You are not a woman though!  Tongue

Oh, come on. Admit that you'd be hurt if all men started ignoring you. I will agree that most women don't want to be JUST objects. lol

So her function isn't to teach me about trading coins Sad

Pretty sure that is not why she got a free trip to Vegas. I have had business trips in the past and I will admit to bringing "staff" that had no idea what was going on.

Now, I'm not saying that all girls are not able to deal with crypto or for all we know Saoshi is a women but some girls (and boys) are never going to get it, and if they are around, that is not what they are there for. So, my talking about 1 girl of 10 does not mean I think all women can't do crypto.

You mean you brought a little fuck toy with you? I'm liking you more every day. lol

It's the other way around. Woman are generally less interested in these topics.

OMG SEXIST! Cheesy

My wife was there with me so that adds one more female in attendance but she really could care less about Bitcoin. She calls it another one of my "strange hobbies".

Does she have any strange hobbies, apart from following you around strange conventions?

Yes, she quilts and throws everything she makes in a closet. Then she buys all of our new bed coverings at Macy's. That's pretty strange.

If you're not sure if you're being sexist, use this guide:

Replace woman/girl/chick/babe/blonde/etc with "black guy".... if your post now sounds racist, it was sexist to begin with.  If it now sounds gay, it was *definitely* sexist.

The reason there are fewer women in tech is because of sexism.  That carries over in to bitcoin as well, yes, but that's not a reason to repeat the mistake here.  Maybe the universal appeal of bitcoin is a way to try to include more women and build out from there.  Hell, if you want to be completely mercenary, having the other 50% of the population interested in bitcoin will just drive up the price. Smiley

According to who? Then you can say there are less men in fashion because of sexism. Or there are less stay-at-home dad's because of sexism. Staying at home, raising kids, cooking meals and keeping a family together is no bullshit task.. it's full time work and there are far less men who do this job because they are discriminated and society looks down on men who don't work in an office.

That's not true at all. I'm not going to say anything else just in case I get labelled as sexist.

Cool... has she gotten any orders through in those coins?

She got her first Bitcoin order today! Someone wanted to pay with Primecoin but she couldn't get it to them by Christmas.

It's the other way around. Woman are generally less interested in these topics. So there are more men to make these jokes and less women to publically pressure men to not do this.

I'm sure it's the same with straight men being the minority in nursing schools and in fashion.

Agreed to thesouljourner... despite anybody's views the way to stabilise, expand and promote bitcoin is to be as open and accepting as possible!

As soon as I saw the blonde girl I was like 100% booth babe. If she had 0.00000001 BTC I would be surprised.
I wish the Indian girl talked ;(

You'd think they could get better booth babes though.

yeah I also wasn't very "wow'ed" by that blonde

It is hard to get smart tech savvy guys or even men in the "industry" to say something intelligent about BTC. I would not be too hard on her.

She (1) doesn't know her function (or she hadn't heard the word PR before Cheesy)),  (2) tries to reapeat after someone and fails .... twice and (3) doesn't know whether she's with the company whose name is on her shirt and whose stand is right behind her.

Yeah I'm passing, but have fun anyway Wink

I'm pretty sure you don't know her function, kinda doubt it has anything to do with BTC at all, lol   Wink

My friend runs an online teatox tea shop and she accepts Bitcoin, Primecoin and Dogecoin. Women who are into these things are out there.

Maybe they really shouldn't be into these things yet....

Dogecoin is pretty crazy I agree but it can be traded for Bitcoin Smiley

Next to average looks she was also stupid as hell. It's probably in her best interest not to talk to much.

That was painful to watch. Obviously they'd only hired her as some kind of "eye candy". And lol at Phineas Gage.
