It is really tempting once some talk about money and especially when the mentioned x2, x3 and soon with your capital. Those who are greedy individuals will take the bait so easily. But later on, surprisingly regrets will come into their mouth saying they got scammed.

Being aware of this situation is very important but we couldn't think that these scammers and hackers will stop. No, they are getting smarter and they can still get a victim because not all of us were into the mind thinking that there is no easy money in real life.
It is usually not easy, but I believe that if we are to follow the due process, we will all be able to avoid getting into nets that are being laid by these scammers and hackers. They will only be able to get you when you’re not very careful with how you keep info that has to do with your wallet, like emails and private key, or maybe you’re the greedy type that wants to get rich quick and you come online to be looking for such opportunities, when you could have patience and quietly build up your wealth.

There are people who don’t know what to keep secret; just like the poster has said, I have seen people that will be telling others that they are into crypto and how much they have in their wallet, which is quite funny to me because this is something that you’re not meant to be sharing with people.
Those people simply don't mean why they are in crypto, and the risk of danger they will eventually face later on. As much as possible, we should always keep our privacy when it comes to money matters because there are scammers around who are only waiting for their victims to fall onto them. And we should always be responsible in the safety of our own wallets as exposure what's inside them will only give reasons to hackers to steal our assets.

I fully agree with that, try to be as cautious as possible when it comes to doing transactions online. After the crypto rally last year the number of scammers and hackers in the crypto world increased a lot. 2-3 years ago I didn't get any emails about cryptos and that I won something, or that I should accept a transfer of coins. Now, every 3rd or 4th email is either a fake Amazon invoice, or some crypto promotion which is not real. Even on discord I get approached atleast twice a month from a bot about new crypto deals or special casino promotions. Before accepting anything online these days, I make sure to tripple check the information. Clicking on one wrong link can already download malware in the background that will steal our data.

These aren't new advice actually. But everything gets fail when we can't control our greedy behavior. When you have been using social media means always you will receive random messages with phishing links. There would be many greedy offers, don't fall on that. There is no such money-making machine.

It is very risky to visit sites not secured because your phone can be attacked by virus which will be the beginning of trouble. Some people care less about this kind of security and they sign up to just any site publishing job opportunity or how to make money gimmicks, this way they can be scammed because such kind site will require your details like email , phone numbers and other details of contact. As you said no money making machine anywhere, except to be hardworking with patience.

These are familiar advice and information for every newbie and everyone. We need to be resounding this advice everytime. But one thing is that upon all the advice that is available people still fall pray to scammers.
About to show off, there is no need to show off when you have it, it will only attract enemies to you.
Never give out your seed phrases, even to family, just put it in your will incase you die.
When you talk about to put seed phrase in the will, it sounds simple but very difficult to implement. How will you include the seed phrase without letting the will personnel to see the seed phrase. And anyone that has your seed phrase now has your money.

In short, remain a lowkey person. Before I'm too proud to tell almost everything but as the year passes by. I'm the one who starts to become quiet with my progress. It's a very prouding moment when you're telling your achievements to others but it'll eventually make you think if you really have to. And before, I'm also a person that keeps important details on my phone like the seed phrase but I've learned that it's a crazy idea. It's still better to do it traditionally through writing and keeping it on a safer place.
In this era in which people publish every single aspect of their lives on social media this is becoming more and more rare, but it has to be done, no one else needs to know about your success in the market of cryptocurrencies and how much money you have in your wallet, and the reason for this is simple, many people as soon as you mention that you are in this market may assume that you are rich, even if you are not, and if they talk about it with the wrong person you could find yourself in a difficult situation from which there is no escape, so with this in mind it is better to remain silent about our holdings as this is one of the most effective ways to keep them safe.
Yeah, you can be cool even you're not sharing all of the things that are happening to you. It's wise to remain silent with your success but it will eventually make noise.
As it makes a noise, it won't be you that will startle it but it will be the people that are witnessing your success. Cryptos are our wealth and it's the same that others are looking for especially on these times of hardship, you can be a target of them.

Most people who are members of bitcointalk already know this. However the general public has no idea. Basically crypto was out for over 10 years and yet people  are still getting their funds stolen.

Even people who buy a hardware wallet, they end up just giving their seed to someone else. Or people who still use text messages as 2fa. Or people who sell their bitcoins for some scam NFT or scam alt coin.

It happens everyday because before you get into crypto you need to look into security first. However most people care about the profits first and security later.

Caution is always a duty, caution is required when dealing with unknown sites, as well as beware of phishing sites that use Internet addresses that are very similar to the addresses of famous exchanges, and when you connect your wallet, you will lose everything. You keep a list of trusted sites in your favorites and also you should beware of Telegram channels because it is full of scammers who try to steal your private keys, the golden rule is not to give your private keys to anyone in this world no matter what.
Save your favorite links, double check everything once you are doing something and never click any link from unknown sources since they can corrupt your files and you might be on a bigger risk, especially if you download fake files. Connecting your wallet should be done on a legit site only, if in doubt better not to try or ask someone to confirm if its legit or not.
Luckily we do really have this forum or community on which you could really ask out some questions on some manner or situation you are dealing with which you could really get
real time or real experience kind of responses which could really be helpful on your part.In terms of security then you should make yourself a bit paranoid when it comes to that
which i dont see for it to be bad looking but rather its just right to have those kind of measures because we are talking some money on here.
Then, it is away better to spread the good news and awareness to the people we know in order for them not to fall into this. Because if we are just into the silence, then this forum isn't working as a source of information.
Actually, we are hoping that the others will give more concern in regards to their security and keeping aware of this thing must be taken seriously. Our action will result something bad , a nightmare if we are too careless enough and I think we all don't want this.

In short, remain a lowkey person.

Cant agree more. There are nobody in this world who will be happy with your success rather people felt jealous because of others success. Its best not to share what you have achieved.
You don't have to tell every story that's happening in your life including the successes and even your failures. People will be happy if you tell your failures and they won't be if you tell your successes. In the crypto market, the failures are even more chance to show than successes because it's going to require everybody a lot of time and patience to succeed. That's why it's also understandable when someone is happily sharing his journey. But as you voice out, you don't know who's really happy with your experience and who's not.

I do agree with all things OP wrote except this one. Life is uncertain and we dont know when we will breath our last. Many bitcoins are lost just because there wallet owners die without giving key/seed or password to there next of kins. Even if you share things like key/seed or password to your next of kin make sure he/she can operate your wallet and use them.

In short, remain a lowkey person.

I would like to add "don't click just anything". They are getting better. SMS, don't believe those. Even from known companies like Binance, you wouldn't know what it's in there. Better just take a look at their website if the promotion does exist.
What you have suggested are all the basics to keep anyone from being hacked, phised, or whatever scammers do for a living now. It should be the first things that should be learned by any newbie before they take their adventure into greater heights. I told all of this to my wife when she got hooked with NFT games. Never ever trust anyone, even an email from me for it could be someone else. Be 100% sure it is me.

Never trust anyone who says you won something. Don't connect your wallet to the fake pancake swap or any other shady  website. Only use the contract address straight from the real  website, yes,  Never store your seed phrases in your phone. Turn off dapps, make sure you disconnect your wallet from pancake swap after you are done using it. Never sell or send coins that just show up in your wallet. Never trust airdrops, Never give out your seed phrases, even to family, just put it in your will incase you die. Never tell people what is in your wallet, you may become a person the hackers and scammers focus on. Never trust anyone online, including any of the advice I am giving you. Turn on transaction signing and password.
I can trust it if I know the person and I know to my self that I participated on that contest. It only becomes unbelievable when some random message pop up and says you won something, no doubt that its just a scam. We shouldn't try to click on it even if we know that they are already a scam because worst things can happen to us.

If we want to be sure that we are on a correct site we should always check the url address and do not neglect the power of bookmark. It can come in handy. In this digital age, the technology have grown too much and so as the knowledge of the criminals. They have now formulated a new ways to scam or hack their victims.

Yea, just never trust anything in general. Especially when it comes to money. The only thing you're supposed to trust is in your judgment, and to do that, just do your own research. Always, check three times, and if you're still doubtful, check it again. The thing is, most people that get scammed are either pure carelessness or just simply because they are scared. Might be because of taking responsibility. Getting scammed really actually just gives them an excuse for their actions.
Can you tell me how they will legitimately check to avoid getting scammed?

IMO, to avoid this, just stay away from hunting money on airdrop or any bounty-related, or maybe every fancy token project had if you don't know technically how to check it.  If you will always go with Bitcoin there's no problem with it.

If I were OP, never trust those who have ads on social media, most of them are scams.

There’s no valid reason to give your seed phrase to anyone, this is the first rule to protect your wallet and seriously, you should know your activities and you can’t just win without doing anything, so track your activities.

You should only give your public address, and deal with the legit projects. If its too good to be true, avoid at all cost.

I agree, but this also raises that old question of how can we make it so that if the person dies, other family members can benefit from bitcoin left by the dead, this has become a very difficult task and without a safe solution until today

Never give out your seed phrases, even to family, just put it in your will incase you die.

But do make sure your lawyer doesn't have direct access to your seed otherwise they can just sweep the funds for themselves and easily get away by feigning ignorance and "you must have had poor cybersecurity" card. If you're going with lawyer route, I think it's better to just put on clear instructions on where and how to retrieve the seed.

in my opinion the safest would be if there was a bank to hold the funds in case of the person's death the bank would contact the relatives
