Usually, the bounty manager chooses a translation only depending on the old work links. Sometimes a lame translation can listed a long list of translation old work. This does not mean that its translation quality is very high. I have seen a guy in our local thread, who have translated more than 100 threads and local people can see that his translation is full of loopholes and the quality is very bad. But the strange thing is that bounty manager always chooses him to be a translator.
This is very easy to explain, because many managers don’t know your language, so they always thought that the more old work links, the higher the quality of the translation.
But what I want to say is that the number of the translation list is not equal to the quality of the translation. In the eyes of local members, some translators are jokes, and the translated contents are shitposts.
I just hope that the Bounty Manager can reasonably choose a good translation, not just depending on the length of the translation experience / portfolio list.

I agree, he shouldn't be red tagged due to his allegedly poor performance of translating texts. A bad reputation for him (if he is really deserving) is enough for bounty managers to stay away from availing his services again. Just by simply giving a bad rep to his/her services will let other people know that their money is not worth it. The negative trust is not for people performing bad services but if it proves that he/she is really not doing good at all and really doesn't know what he/she is doing then I think that is enough to label them as scamming other people.

So you think this person is a bad translator? Why do you think this makes him a scammer? Don't you think it would make more sense to simply not hire him, and let others make their own decision if they want to hire him based on his prior work, that may or may not improve over time?

I haven't checked the translations but if he is off in translating in language he was hired for then it is all up on bounty manager for not hiring the best and I don't think in that scenario he should be begged but if he is using any sorts of translation tools then surely needs to be tagged IMO.

i mostly report misplaced threads / spam / whatever else whenever i skim through and spot stuff (like the one user spamming 30 threads earlier), and i sometimes read posts for practice and whatnot, and i just havent had the time to pick and choose what i want to buy. busy with life and all. korean local board is dead. you dont need to post there. isnt it on ebay though?
yeah i emigrated at an early age so i never really learned korean up to the level i would've liked to, but the local korean board here is a decent source for practice reading material on a site i browse anyways. personally, i'd like to see the local board more active in the future; i get very few chances to use / practice korean in my day to day life.
ill probably look through the source / translations later on, it's getting close to bedtime for me. i checked the first one though, doesn't seem to be entirely google translated.

but as i pointed out from the start, i don't know if he used google translate. what i am accusing him of is his low ability of translating service. if native korean cannot understand what he translated, it is definitely wrong and should not translate. but he is doing so after getting rejected. needless to say, for easy money
