We can prevent many mistakes if we find some time for education and investigating.
If you planning to invest money in something you at least must be aware of risks.
after you done it you must stay with strong nerves, with bitcoin you are never loser,
but if you sell it before time you can become one. Wink

My worst mistake with the bitcoin was when I sold my bitcoins on the wrong time because of that I lost a bit of profit.
I made profit because of it but there was more profit to gain if I had held them longer.

After massive scam did by big exchanger like Mt gox and cryptsy it makes bitcoin trader hard to choose who must be trusted?
And your option seems nice to do, withdawing bitcoin after trade through our personal wallet so it could prevent another mistakes coming to store any amount coin in exchanger.
This way many good opportunities will not be exploited properly, and earnings will be much less.

Or we must use decentralized exchanges where exchange don't hold your private keys.
This way they cannot scammed you.
I don't know why such exchanges are not mainstream or at least more popular?

I always convert my coins into fiat whenever I feel I want too, never thinking that price would go high after cashing out... But now that I know it, I will now watch out and read news about bitcoin.. And probably be visiting the charts from time to time if I can..

It's your money after all. It's just fine.

If you feel to convert it no worries. It's not a mistake.

Learn not to regret if you sold some coins then suddenly price changes up. It's just normal and you can always back in line again.

Instead of buying bitcoin when it was $1-2, I spent $10 000+ on bfl, though I didnt lose money I could have been rich, lol

Well at least you have done something about this and even you had lost I think you had known your mistake and now buying bitcoin and trading is now your top priority now and it is good to buy bitcoin now that it decrease value for now

Yes. You should only make well informed investment. For a risky investment, you should only invest a little portion of what you can afford.

I have done lots of mistakes, but the biggest one was trusting MtGox.

No. Your biggest mistake would be putting a lot (probably to you) of Bitcoin at MtGox. You should never put a lot of Bitcoin in any exchanges.

I didn't sell when the price was $450 in last week, I was hoping that price will reach at $500 and didn't sell it, so now again waiting for bitcoin to reach that value as soon as possible.

I hope your prediction will become true soon. However, I'd suggest you to hold onto your Bitcoin. I don't think Bitcoin price will stay at 400 or 500 USD.

I biggest mistakes I generally do is to sell my btc at the time when the price goes down at a drastic level.

I dont know why this happens but it happens coincidentally Undecided

Interesting. So next time when Bitcoin price is dropping, kindly buy a few coin to use your "luck" to increase Bitcoin price. This will help us Bitcoiners. Joke aside, you should always check the trend before selling or buying. Don't be panic and sell when the Bitcoin rate falls.

After the MT Gox incident, I have never trusted any exchange ever again. I invested 1 Bitcoin and lost it. I really hate MT Gox.
whenever the exchange sites could be a scam. because they are a third party so they can control your money. become better just in case. dp not too much save your bitcoin in exchanger

This question bothering me all the time can we trust centralized exchange?
Or would be a good idea to make move to decentralized.
Bittrex and Poloniex are good and have good security behind it, but i also remember MINTPAL..

Maybe this is our collective big mistake?

decentralized ones will come out soon.

Just look at openbazaar, a complete decentralized marketplace.

I think the new move will be towards decentralization, and the exchanges will have to be decentralized as well.

it was mtgox, then crypsty, who's next ?
there's the reason why i always do withdraw my coin from exchanger to my wallet after trading, every exchanger have possibilty to scam, due to the controll of the private key

I only hoping their greed will be stay in cage while they have good volume of trade.
But if you feel wind of change windrawl fast your money i mean BTCs.
Maybe only those US based exchanges are with much more security and honesty?
Cryptsy was US based?or not?

I wouldn't  really say it is a mistake though. I cashed some of my bitcoin at $410 for a guy who is really in need. It is a good thing helping others and the best part it that is just a little and I can earn it again in just a manner of time.
