I believe there will definitely be exposure for crypto if celebrities help to promote to their supporters. But IMO, the project’s business model and continuous development are the main factors that drive the success of a project.

Celebrities supporting crypto currency will not help the blockchain technology, if they want to invest good.
But if they are creating their own token, it will only cause unnecessary fuss, loss and hypes which would affect the characteristics of a good project.

Akon, the singer (dunno if he is still active in the entertainment industry though) made a statement that it's foolish not to invest in crypto https://www.cryptoglobe.com/latest/2018/09/akon-thinks-it-s-foolish-not-to-invest-in-crypto/
Do you think if there are more celebrities who talk about cryptocurrency it would be more widely accepted by the public? I know that products are proven to be effectively marketed by celebrities but would it have the same effect on crypto?
Very good if the Artist can support crypto, of course many fans who come like Artists they idolize, but is it possible for Artists to use Crypto? Because they get a lot, of course their income is very much from the release of their songs.

Celebrity promoting cryptocurrencies will surely help spread cryptocurrencies since they get a lot of impressions. The problem is how far their fans have a curiosity toward cryptocurrencies. It would be nice if the celebrity itself could trigger the curiosity of their fans about cryptocurrency.

A celebrity who decided to invest in cryptocurrency was likely just a promotion. All we know, celebrities have strong power to attract various elements of society to follow what they have done. As well as, for those celebrities who have made a statement that crypto currency is an investment place that isn't recommended for everyone, it has promoted negative things, it is probable that it will be paid by some parties who don't like the growth of cryptocurrency, we can say it's just a FUD.

To be honest, they are really helping to increase the trust rating of crypto.

But before advertising one, they have to study if its a legit coin and the developers are serious with that project. We don't want to see it happen again that a celebrity will endorse a scam project, we don't want many people to fall for that as it will decrease the trust from the mass for crypto's so they would only think that crypto's in general are like that.

The best way to promote a traditional product is thru actors and actresses, millions of money are being paid to famous actors/actresses just to spread a certain product so why not? I mean Yes, of course, it will give people confidence to invest or even to start trusting the crypto industry in this case because people mostly are relying on those famous individuals just the way how the Television advertising caught our attention.

But, just be sure to do your own research if you want to invest for cryptocurrencies because we don't rely upon know the devs real intention. I am actually promoting a project which some famous actors/actresses in our country were supporting and 1 of them are investor of such. The project looks great and promising, hopefully this will succeed.

sometimes it doesn't suit what we expected, there are many celebrities who have become supporters, advisors or ambassadors of the project, but it doesn't become a guarantee that all will succeed. so what fully supports it is the project or product itself and the extent to which it can solve the problem.
This was actually another joke, they are getting pair to create such a shilling quote to the crypto. Did you remember what has already happened with centra after the team, has paid mcweather to promote its ico? it has become a scam project confirmed by SEC. anything that will be mentioned by celebrities can't be trusted

for just marketing purpose maybe it will help the company to raise some more money but you should understand that crypto is way more different than the products.. they advertise the finshed products but it takes years for the crypto to impelement the roadmap plan and also it is investment in the crypto rather than consumer products

My answer is YES! It will surely help.
Not exactly in a way that crypto gets a better value, however, if celebrities are supporting crypto, it gives cryptocurrencies a wider audience and people who are literally unaware of what cryptocurrencies are, will start looking and learning about it.

If any media star says, they say, for the future of the bitcoins, get wet. In a couple of days, the assets of some bitcoins will simply take off. If Ilon Max says so, what do you think will happen? Wink
I think celebrities promotion is not workout in this category because all the educated persons only buy a cryptocurrency so they are all analyse the own way. All the peoples are expecting a government support so some countries are legalising in cryptocurrency surely it will reach a good marketcap in future.

This might not have a direct positive effect on cryptocurrency. I tell you this, this is about bringing out physical cash to invest and we know how difficult that is if you are not convinced by yourself to go on. You can't just get that decision done because a celebrity is involved in it.

Moreover, celebrity stunts are not what will grow this market. Just get banks coming in their numbers, then you will see the market volume.

In Russia, even celebrities themselves cannot promote their own tokens, let alone support others. So my answer is no. For success does not need the opinions of celebrities. Need a strong team, good product and continuous work

Depends what you mean by help. Of course it is always good for spreading awareness when celebrities endorse something as that's why people pay them so much to promote brands and products in the first place because they have a large audience and often social media presence, but it's not always a good thing. Last year a few celebs got into trouble for promoting scam ICOs and they are the sort of people who will promote anything as long as you pay them to do so. They're the very definition of sell outs. So no, it's not always good for celebs to promote crypto especially when they're usually only doing it because they have financial incentive to do so. How many are actually even promoting bitcoin because they actually believe in it and not just whatever ICO they've been paid to promote, and that can have a negative influence in the public when they keep advertising get rich quick scams where the naive investor loses money.

Akon, the singer (dunno if he is still active in the entertainment industry though) made a statement that it's foolish not to invest in crypto https://www.cryptoglobe.com/latest/2018/09/akon-thinks-it-s-foolish-not-to-invest-in-crypto/

I think it's foolish for him to say it's foolish not to invest, especially when crypto isn't a guaranteed money maker and many people have lost money. He's just trying to promote his own "Akoin" (lol) so he is clearly biased. He doesn't even seem to understand crypto that well himself and I'm sure he's just another celeb who has been promised riches in order to user his name to promote a coin:

Quote
Akon, the famous singer, songwriter, and producer has been spreading the word about cryptocurrencies since June when he announced plans to launch Akoin, his own cryptocurrency. The multi-millionaire recently discussed cryptocurrencies and the crypto world in an interview on Revolt TV’s Drink Champs podcast.

When the host of the podcast admitted that he did not understand what cryptocurrencies were, Akon replied, “nobody does” and went ahead to give an explanation by comparing cryptocurrencies to stocks:

It’s no different from the stock market... You buy shares of companies that are most trusted. You know they are going to make a profit. You know they’re going to yield an investment. You go there with your money because you know, these guys, in the next four, five or ten years, their projection said they are going to make triple what they are making now.

He concluded by saying:

When you look at cryptocurrency, it’s a little bit different but it’s kind of like the same concept, the way I understand it.

Akon added that he was still learning, as he keeps finding out more after getting involved with cryptocurrencies.

I don't know if it could work. The truth is that many celebrities started to promote crypto, because they become popular and more and more websites wrote about Bitcoin and its price. Even these celebrities had their own crypto (shitcoins) which was only as a PR activity. Here you can read about it https://zycrypto.com/is-it-sensible-to-have-your-own-cryptocurrency-why-popular-brands-and-celebrities-want-to-have-one/
